Hey I've got a very similar model of record player also by panasonic. Recently the left speaker output stopped working. I'm thinking the balance fader might be broken. Has anyone ever run into this problem?
nice record deck bsr stands for birmingham sound reproducers which were made here in the uk west midlands not far from where i live and these decks were shipped all around the world very reliable deck will serve you well for years.
Ordinary record players don't record (I wish they did) but there were special machines made that would record on blank disks. Back in the days before tape recorders were around much, there were machines that recorded and played records, with a special stylus to record the record and a regular playback needle.
My Record Player is so different. It's a Sharp Record Player with a Disc Stereo System VZ-1560, Both Sites Play, Stereo Double Casstette Deck and Radio. I don't know the ge of your Record Player but mine is builded in the 90s.
Nice. the FM stereo LED there is green. Was the original one red? It´s odd seeing a green light for the fm stereo indicator. Also that record has a good sound, well estimated for it´s age.
Didnt Tempo Department Stores sell Stereos like that under their home brand called " Gambles Coronado " ? also some Western Auto Truetones looked much like that right .... ????
Very nice stereo system! Pretty neat that the auto function still works on the record player. Usually that mechanism is broken, at least on the players I have seen/got my self.
What does the FM Auto option do? Does it have standard RCA type sockets for connecting external devices to the unit? I love the dial lights on the tuning scale, they look awesome, how many lights are there inside the unit? You talk about BSR, is BSR the company who makes the turntable assembly?
FM Auto is the same as FM Stereo, where it automatically switches to FM stereo if a stereo broadcast is picked up. It has RCA for line in and out, and speaker connections. This uses 3 lamps total: 2 "fuse" lamps for the dial and one (replaced with an LED) for the FM stereo light. BSR is the British company that made the record changer.
Nice Panasonic from the early 70s! Tacky glue should fix the 2nd speaker. I had to do the samething to the oval speaker for my 1974 Audiotronics record player.
what are those speakers?

I think the original would have lit green, because in front of the original blown bulb there was a green piece for the light to shine through.

Goop Contact Adhesive--a little dab'll do ya. I make all my battery boxes with it.

I saw a Symphonic console stereo at Habitat for Humanity with the same BSR changer. Yours sounds good. I wonder cartridge it uses.

I think it's the standard BSR Ceramic flip-over cartridge from what I can see...
tubeie07 2 years ago
It does have a flip-over.

Nice system! It's quite similar to my SD-203, including the notorious BSR record changer. What size are the cones in those speakers? 6-inch?
vwestlife 2 years ago
The speakers are 6 1/2 inch.
