Here's the problem US weapons are not effective as the russian made weapons. Plus US never fought wars in high altitudes and should have consulted the Indian army since they have fought many wars in this type of environment and won. Next time US military should get some training with the indian army.

No, higher ground does give a slight advantage. But not nearly as much as high tech weaponry and air support do. Al qaeda had no supersonic flying jets w/ 20mm cannon and 500 pound bombs to call in. No reinforced armored chinook helicopter w/ 20 mm cannon, 50cal machine guns and M75 grenade launchers. They didnt even have body armor on, the were just towel heads wearing fuckin robes and flip flops w/ AKs and RPGs. Light weaponry and no air support. Odds were 100 to 1 in favor of the rangers.

Just because they wear turbans doesn't mean that they're dumb. Some of them are really intelligent and have had military training in the past. And add to that, just because we have high-tech gadgets on our rifles doesn't mean we can beat the insurgents in a pitched battle. Superior tactics and courage in battle can.

Most of the members of al-Qaeda have been carrying guns and fighting wars much longer than even the army rangers, "They are born with a weapon on their back," is a quote that describes al-Qaeda very well, and was quoted from another army ranger.
