I kinda like you're appraisal of the general situation. Well done. You've got a good head on your shoulders, I'd say. The only thing I don't really like, in general, is simply the use of the word "sin". There's too much of a history of use, manipulation, and branding behind that word that is still in full force today, and quite frankly I'm sick and tired of it.
I like your understanding of it, though: a careless act that brings about poor consequences in general. Simply put. I agree with that.
Fair enough. I just wanted to point out that Christianity and similar established, organized religions have had a monopoly on happiness and ethics using the trademark-like terms of "sin" and a plethora of other oft-used buzz words. For the most part, good things may be taken from them, but it's become so twisted and people so conflicted with each other over it that I've become quite sick of it, and would rather not speak using such terms anymore. Not that you should too, though. That's just me.
well, useage of words can be tricky. here, sin is anything thats not in Gods' will - and we are all siners, so we are all not in His will, but we are all forgiven so, its ok - we just have to be mature enough to deal with the conquances, to me abortion is a "non" dealing of the conquance and in fact bringing other conquances upon yourself, etc.
I'm guessing your refering to chaos thoery/ and or chaos as it relates to the universe.. this is really beound my understanding of how the universe works, but in general I think there are levels of chaos - ie : A die roll might be "random" but a cosmic event (supernova) might be planed for.
I dont think sin could be called chaos , with those defentions.
Re: Mango; i think that , we should not disalow (abortion) since, there are cases when it would save life, (mom or kid) and other cases (rape/incest) are harder to deal with (contuned)
but, the main thing is, i think that (in most part) we as a socity dont really offer alternatives, in RAIR cases there are chirch based homes to help moms have kids, keep there job, contune school, get other services etc.. its a failing of the socity as a whole, again due to sin.
I think I posted a comment three times, I dunno if it'll show up. meh
Third point: Being Muslim, I think blaming natural sin is incorrect, but that's just a difference in religion. Well a big difference for me... but anyway, miscarriages and such are "tests" to help us grade our faith, and possibly evolve it further.
I agree that fail-sex [when it's for .. bad reasons I suppose] cause most abortions, the non-essential ones. I think it's their choice, as I said in 2nd post.
Second part, So if free-will is around, then it's up to humans to do the right thing [not abort, which I would agree with] but have boths ways open to let people have the choice and be the better guy. [I would hate for people to have superfluous abortions, as some would, but I think it's necessary for them to do it themselves. Does that make sense?] Furthermore, it's a health risk to ban abortions in all cases, in cases of rape or incest, as is touted by the medical community.
i pretty much agree- we have to have the choice, but - sometimes laws help define morals... its not always easy to do, so in (x) case its ok, in (y) case it isnt.. maybe the law should stay out of it, i dont know.
I'm just asking, are you pro-life? And I think you're a big man for looking at both sides, alot of people won't even stop and think about the other side. Also I think you would be a good lawyer. And I don't know the reference, but I think tehres a verse that says I crafted or wove together in your mother's womb. So yeah... I'm not trying to be a know it all, I just like trying to help people.
i'm pro avoiding sin whenever possible. Since I would conseder abortin a sin, then I guess i would be prolife, of course, in some cases (as mentioned below) this is not possible or would cause other issues. but i would not judge someone or condem someone for doing it, it is free will at work. there is always a conquance though

Hmm. Would you say that sin is a synonym for chaos?
