The Story about the Telemaster pulling strings for laying telephone cables over rough terrain or valleys is authentic, I have an article about it in and old magazine somewhere, also have articles on how early UAV's were developped from advanced RC models by experienced modelers such as Maynard Hill and others..True Pioneering era..thanks to all those guys..
I love how the nosy (and incompetent) cameraman is interrogating the pilot on his build procedure even before the pilot get's the plane back down. I would have told him, "shut up and shoot".
Really enjoyed the video! Just bought a 12' Telemaster yesterday that has been stored for many years. Going through it thouroughly to make it airworthy again. See my videos here on youtube (all RC related stuff) and watch for my maiden flight of the 12' Telemaster hopefully in a couple weeks. Thanks again great clip!
The guy giving the flying instructions needs to work on his video presentation and steadiness and stop being a back seat pilot. The guy flying the plane knows what he's doing (other then when he glues something) but overall it's a good video guys. The telemasters a great design but quite sluggish. I've had a couple of them and they fly great. It's a nice bird. Keep her in one piece my friend.

the reason why its called a telemaster is because they used it for stringing telephone cable. no joke!

@jamesyak52 actually...close. But they used to to pull the rope across that would then pull the telephone cables across.

What a wonderful time, during a maiden with the plane coming apart, to give building tips and flying hints.
