i think the routines have improved through the years...and are more complicated..i didnt like the bars when they were so close together..prefer the newer stuff :) and the newer vault is safer...miss gymnastics

Today's gymnastics is actually much much harder than the stuff from the 60's in particular. The skills are much more difficult; the bar is raised every year. Vault started out as horses and only recently changed to the vaulting table they use today, which is much safer.

yea and cause they thought they were gonna make the sport harder by moving the bars farther away from each other and making the OB lines on floor closer in and making the beam a TAD smaller and changing the vault form but they only made it easier on bars and vault cause now you dont have to worry about missing the vault or hitting your head on the higher bar when you're doing a trick plus they made it more interesting!!! a LOT more interisting

Who was the gymnast about 35 secs into the routine? And who was one the uneven bars that did a twist from the lower bar. I have a feeling I;ve seen this before. Did you get it from a website? If you did pls tell me.

The beginning is Verz Cavslavska. She was from Checkoslovakia but the Soviets overran her country in the 60s before the 68 Olympics. She defied them, and is a huge hero in my book at least.

I think the other girl you're talking about is Ludmilla Tourischeva (if you're talking about the girl near the beginning). :)
