  • Great work!

  • 0:21 It! He... for!! was- on- ARE-- as. So much build up, then "as" came in like a deflated balloon.

  • Kids that are exposed to tons of language early in life may pick this skill up so easily they don't realize that they have memorized the sight words. That is obviously the best solution. What do you do with the kids that are coming from high risk homes, or places where they are rarely exposed to language and reading. That is why the public schools are using this curriculum. It is intensive, focused instruction, that they did not get because of lack of exposure over the last number of years.

  • In other words you need to learn them by memorization, which is what we all do one way or another. It used to be that people only taught reading this way. There is a huge problem with that, because usually by about the time you reach 5th grade, there are too many words in your vocabulary for your brain to memorize them all. That is why phonics is also so very necessary. That is for the other part of our language that actually makes sense phonetically.

  • Sight words are not supposed to be used by themselves. They are sight words, because they do not go by the rules of phonics. Students should be taught phonics, decoding, and high frequency words. There are about 500 of them. Think of the word "the" it has no definition. It makes no sense phonetically and yet it is 2% of all written language. Yes 2% of written language is the word "the". High frequency words are words that are commonly used in english, that deviate from the rules of phonics

  • It great it teache my kids to read because I pause it in between words.

  • No wonder two-thirds of elementary school kids are below proficient.

  • Do not waste brain resources with sight words, teach your kids to decode and they can read anything with the proper instruction. I use Sing, Spell, Read & Write.

  • Love it with a child's voice.
