  • i friggin hait standing at attention for 2 hours straight!!!

  • my grandson is almost 12 and wants to join so we went on line to show him what's out there and found this video---in 1967 I was 16 yrs old and part of the centennial tri service cadet tattoo---we trained 6 weeks in Vernon and then put on shows in various towns in thhe okanagon, lower mainland, and the island--fantastic opportunity for kids

  • I will always look back to my days in the 2136 Victoria Canadian Scottish Regiment Army Cadets as best days of my life and the as C/L/Cpl Jones @Veron CL 1982 the best times I had in cadets =)

  • oh one more thing i love your videos they are very well done

  • i am an air cadet with 223 red lion squadron in vernon belive it or not. i have done air cadet traning at the camp many times i recently went and slept in barrak b-34!!

leading air cadet ( lac) cail 223 red lion air cadets vernon bc oct 23 2011

  • Is this really worth it and how hards the training ?

  • Its so good it makes me cry ! And I remember all the memories I had too!

  • /watch?v=6Nlqjo2Pncg The states get it better. :

  • I cant wait for camp!! I live in then maritimes though so its a diffrent one, but its almost the same :)

  • I cant wait for camp!!

  • @JoshuaaaEss You can join the Army Reserves next year when you're 16 and continue with Cadets aswell as be in the Reservs

  • @u452u The CATO's changed back in December of 2010, you can no longer be a cadet and a reservist at the same time, you must leave cadets the moment you're sworn into the Canadian Forces, the Department of National Defence also updated recruiting age for the Primary Reserves to 17 at around the same time, due to the new training courses. I know this because I'm a reservist and was told I could no longer be a cadet, I'm now volunteering at my old corps as a reservist NCM.

  • I'm with 172 Clarington Royal Canadian Air Cadets, but I'm thinking of transfering to Army Cadets in september. Is it worth it?

  • @u452u It depends on what you're into, Army Cadets focus a lot on Expedition and marksmen, it also depends on the kind of corps you're going to join and their resources, some corps are well funded and have amazing staff while others can be the total opposite so certain programs like a marksmen team wont be available but you can still do the marksmen portion at Camp. Also if you've reached a rank and certain training level in the air cadets you may be able to "Transfer" that rank to Army Cadets.

  • @TashaRules Thankyou

  • @TashaRules hey im wondering if i should join sea or army cadets what are the differneces?

  • @TheRealThang88

army learning bout land training... sea is learning bout sea training i tried both and liked army way better but thats my opinion.

  • @u452u yes it is i am with 2458 rocky mountain ranger army cadet corp and it is amazing

  • @JoshuaaaEss I was in the same boat as you, I joined cadets at 14 and went to camp for the first time at 15, I spent 3 years in cadets and 3 summers at camp and it changed me for the better. I left cadets at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and was sworn in the next day to the Canadian Forces Primary Reserves. I wouldn't have changed anything for the world.

Rtrd. c/CWO Dubois 1955 Service Battalion

  • tasha may i ask are you currently in army cadets?

  • @gtafan1722 Yes I am, with 1955 Service Battalion.

  • @TashaRules what is your current rank?

  • @TashaRules thats cool im with 2672 hastings prince edward regiment my current rank is M.CPL

  • @gtafan1722 I'm currently a Master Warrant Officer.

  • @TashaRules that cool

  • WOOOOOOO!!!! I was in the Cadets.

  • That last abseiling clip was pretty close to being a disaster. There's a reason you keep your body horizontal.

  • This last summer was most likely my last summer spent at VACSTC as a cadet, I spent 3 summers there, 2 as course cadet, and 1 as staff. I loved every moment of it, sure there was some bad moments but all the good ones make up for it. Everyones individual experience will vary that can be guaranteed. I am young enough to spend one more summer there but I have decided to pursue a career in the Canadian Forces, but for those who are looking to join the RCAC this may change your life.

  • that's so cool what do you need to join

  • @911prasiddha Just need to find a corps and be over the age of 12.

  • dam! im in air cadet but i will like to shoot that m16! :(

  • @BDHH100 Not M16 ,C7 Rifle better then M16

  • This was considerably helpful! I'm looking into joining the RCAC (Army, not Air) in literally a few days, so I wanted to learn a bit more before I went to join! Thanks so much =)

  • they make camp look like so much fun 3 years i went every year some one did somthing to hurt me or make me feal bad some girl tryes to kill me none of the girls like me cuz i hang with guys some parts are fun but to say i am glad to not be going back cuz off all that happens evey year to me

  • I went to Vernon this year for camp, but next yer I might try whitehorse. IT WAS THE BEST COUPLE WEEKS OF MY LIFE!

  • i would have join army cadets im in air cadets right now their are no army cadets in campbell river

  • My son is at Camp Vernon right now! Thanks for sharing the video!

  • Where Is It? Do I have o drive there or Westjet Is it OnLY in Ontario

  • do u guys do lik hard training lik push ups and siups and running and driills lik that?

  • id goto army cadets but its like 6 hours from where i live

  • cool, my lil brother's going there, im going to Penhold, its the base for Air cadets.....for band and ect....OMG those barracks looks soooooo familiar!

  • thats what im going to be doing! hell yeah!!

  • not everyone only if u sigh up for it

  • i was wondering, when there swinging from trees and going over cliffs, does everyone have to do that?

  • @MatrixMasta2009 Yes and no, some staff, depending on who you get might not let you do it if you're absolutely terrified of heights, but don't think you're lucky yet. Some staff will make you go over whether you like it or not, once you reach a certain point on the absail or ropes course there's no way to go but forward or down, the best thing to do is just to get it over with. I speak from experience I have an extreme phobia of heights so I just close my eyes and keep going and breath properly.

  • @TashaRules Is this the 1913 Royal Canadian army cadets in Oshawa Ontario R.S. Mclaughlin Armory

  • @TashaRules is there a 3 week marksmanship course, like do you get to choose a course?

  • @Freepepsi42 Yes the course is called Basic Marksman, you can choose your course when your corps starts to fill out forms for camp, just talk to your Training Officer or CO and tell them what you want to take.

  • @MatrixMasta2009 And also keep in mind the General Training cadets won't be doing the ropes or absail courses, they have their own miniature obstacle course. Only the CL's (or the Basics as they are now known) get to do the Absail tower and the ropes course, and the CLI's do it as well but they get the cliff (as shown in the video) instead of the Absail tower.

  • dont get mad im in air cadets where on the same side i live on vancover isand right next to vernon i wish i was in army cadets but in my town campbell river there about 6 army cadets and thats it and there limited to doing things no funding or go with air cadets 50 strong or sea cadets 50 strong too but i dont want to die being locked in a boiler room whal the ship is sinking rofl.

  • Basic Adventure this summer, I only have to take a 45 minute drive cause I live just in Kelowna (south of Vernon) Gonna be fun.

  • @Cod4Paradox shit i have basic marksman but i wanna trade marksman for adventure

  • @MRVIKING123 You mean Basic Expidition, there's a difference between adventure and expidition, Adventures a CLI course. I'm set to staff Basic Expidition but planing to switch to either Basic Leadership or Marksmen as staff.

  • @TashaRules sweet so ya anyways if u r one of my staff cadets my last name is paschal haha yea

  • CL marksmen Camp Conaught.

  • BTW can I take my own gear?

  • No you can't take any of your gear, you will be issued gear when you get there. Don't take any civilians if you're a course cadet because you won't beable to wear them at all while you're there, an exception would be PJ's. Take hygiene items, socks including your whool ones issued at your corps, take your uniform (of course) and you will most likely be issued a few other things such as PT gear at your home corp to take with you to camp.

  • @you will most likely be in your pt gear for a the longer duration of your course.

  • well i live in ontario canada so they will prob fly me is it during the summer ? and is it have to be army cadets not sea or air?

  • Well if you live in Ontario there's a good chance that you won't be going to this camp, instead you'll probably end up going to CFB Bordon or Black Down known as it's ACSTC name.

  • I am a Master corporal and ive never went to summer camp! lol.....Well my corps is located in ONT so will they be flying me there??? That would be cool!

  • @busboy3232 if u are in ontario u will probaly go to CFB Borden

  • do i have to be in cadets for a long time to take a jet to camp

  • Every cadet is provided transportation to camp by the DND, depending on where you live you will either be bused or flown to camp. Everyone gets bused or flown to camp whether it's their first year or fifth. The transportation costs nothing.

  • i am a cadet to 1746 is my legoin

  • I'm 13 years old, Can I sign up for the Royal Canadian Army Cadets?

  • Yes you can, the minimum age to sign up is 12.

  • Awesome! Do you know what activity's ill be doing?

  • yes you can you can be 12 too

  • Yeah, its 12-18

    (Air cadets ftw)

  • Yes, The minimum age for RCAC is 12 =]

  • still say Whitehorse was the best, plus we flew on the DND aircraft, not civi.

  • I remember i watched this afer doing Basic and before doing CL. This was really a summer i would never forget.

  • Yeah CL was an awsome summer, we had a great platoon commander and some pretty cool people in our platoon, yes that includes you too Jones. Can't wait until the next time I go to Vernon.

  • next year we should staff together.

  • Totally even if I only have my Gold Star im more then willing to staff as a Master Corporal.

  • @TashaRules staff is fun just be careful what you go as make sure you like what you apply for it was great when i did it in 08 at vernon and 09 in connaught bush craft all the way wish i could still go but im to old now dang age limit enjoy all the time you can in cadets i know i did treasure every moment good and bad it will make you a better person in the end

  • Yeah I'm applying for staffing in Vernon or Connaught as well, but I'm also applying for advanced training so it'll be difficult to say if I'm for sure staffing this year.

  • that is a good video

  • The song rocks. I can't wait to rejoin in September.

I'm assuming you went to Army Cadets, Right?

  • what song was this i kind liked it?

  • Listed in the description of the video.

  • oh kay that makes sense

  • what is BMQ for??

  • To train the Canadian Forces soldiers, airmen, and sailors in basic military skills, drill/combat/leadership etc. before they move onto their more advanced courses.

  • i'm a cadet. what is BMQ??

  • Basic Military Qualification for the Canadian Forces.

  • i did my fucking BMQ in that shithole you KIDS dont even know

  • Note: Camp Vernon is strictly a Cadet camp thats why it's called VACSTC, the only time it's being used by someone other then cadets is for parties and the occassional reservists from kelowna, it's not a CF BMQ training center.

  • im a rac CADETE~!~

  • this movie brought back soooooooo many memories from when i was in Guard Company in 2008!

    Staff in 2009!

  • I live in Vernon too, I'm the 1705 BCD's. We Get 60 bucks a week in Army Cadets in the summer Camp, It is fun, more People should join. Whats funny in our Core is we don't have any Corporals, only Cadets, Troopers, Master Corporals, and Above.

  • same here haha

  • haha cadet camp is soo fun. its like boot camp. my division (2618) pays me 100 bucks to go there for 6 weeks

  • we get payed 6 bucks a week (360 for 6 weeks) basics earn from 120 to 180 bucks and now the new CL's will just earn 180, seeing as their course was cut down to 3 weeks instead of 6.

  • everyone that were in basic chill out the basics ALWAYS fight...

  • YAY!! I got promoted to corporal now because of my AWESOME effort! (lol). but my corps sucks :( because we only have like 20 some cadets and we are losing money to do stuff. but we just had an excersise this weekend (Operation Mr.Clean)it was fun. the whole point of it was to teach cadets proper care of their uniform. anyways, i might go to basic this summer but i KNOW I will get homesick :( does anyone else? I'am happy to be part of Army Cadets, As my dad says its an option in life, and it will benifit me when an employer is reading my resume and he/she reads:

Royal Army Cadet 2007-whatever year i leave (i plan to stay till i age out the join canadian army and fight for my country!

If you are under 12 or 12-18 You should join army cadets it

  • (to continue) it will be an experence you will never forget. I just joined and ive already gone on 2 Camp trips and have done stuff people not in cadets wouldnt do, like:

Fitness Tests, Gone up to the cold north for a weekend and slept in an army barrack with the only heat: a fire, ive aten IMP's (The food the troops eat in afgan. and Iraq), i know my basic drill, im currently trying out for the rifle drill team, shot a rifle and plenty more! Its a truely great experience. and i thank my dad
