  • eh?

  • thanks for being so inclusive!

  • It is much easier to caption video now that You Tube provides the ability to put captions as a text file. Before, you had to "bake" them onto the video. That was a lot more work. Now, all you need to do is create a text file in the form

    00:00:00,00:00:10

    Text

    00:00:15,00:00:20

    More text

The two items are start time of caption, end time of caption, CR, caption, blank line, next time code, and so on. Much easier to do. All of my videos are captioned. First open, now CC.

  • All my camera recorded videos are Closed Captioned so that more people are able to understand what is happening and deaf people can see the words.

  • It's great that you are adding CC to all your videos for the deaf and hard of hearing. That's why I'm doing it for most of my videos too. If only more people would do that, or find somebody to do it for them, youtube would be a better place for more people.

  • What do you use to make the closed captioning?

  • I use Overstream :)

  • cool, I didn't know about this feature.

  • Cool, I didn't know about that feature, thanks for pointing it out!

  • where's the closed captioning?

  • Sorry, it takes bloody ages for YouTube to process the CC File :-/

The rest will have sound, but the CC version will be in process from about 5 mins after it's uploaded.

  • Aha! You have to click the arrow button on the right side of the player for them to appear :(

    Sorry guys!
