@MrBreeeezy Yeah it's part of the song, it's like a little ornament probably created by Brian Eno. If you listen to Moment of Surrender there is a similar sound in the beginning. There is a great clip here of Brian talking about Moment of Surrender and why it was created in such a unique fashion.

What 2nd guitar? Edge often uses a lot of echo and other effects like that, so maybe that confuses you.

That's true, but don't forget where the concert was. Not everyone was a U2 fan, and few had heard their new songs before the concert. Lots of people had fun though. Even my friends who didn't like U2 are fans now.
