It's staggering how many people criticise when the cover is not an EXACT carbon copy.The reality,is that they wouldnt have come within lightyears of being close to the original - because THEIR singing would have been so much worse than they imagined. This is a hard song to sing - all at very high notes,and u clearly handled it with a lot of respect.I admire your tribute.(It was brave to try backing vocals .BUT that first lot did sound like an SNL sketch or Weird Al :( Keep the Gold shining.

If you want to do the rhythm track correctly, do it the same way as Andrew did. He & Brock Walsh thumped the wall & clapped (thump clap, thump thump clap), over dubbing it 22 times.I know this as I actually emailed Andrew to ask him, several years ago. The keyboards were ARP & the sax was done by the guy in the house band of "The Tonight Show". Hope this helps.

This cover is rather tepid! The ARP sound is easily emulated on any synth capable of square-wave waveform with a piano envelope.
