Who's Destined for More NHL Stardom: Crosby or Ovechkin?

crosby is better overall..yes ovi's first few seasons were awesome but where was he this year? crosby was out half the season and still top 20 in scoring. enough of this ovi versus sid comparison..ovi can score goals with his 'wild and unusual' scoring techniques - sid is more subtle with his assists, faceoff wins, play making and goals. these players are both amazing but in different aspects - because sid can do more then just score he is the best if there had to be a comparison.

I dont even know why its Crosby vs. Ovechkin, i mean.. If u want to have the two best players in the world? Than you wouldnt puck Crosby in the Top 2, because of the fact, that his own mate Malkin is better. In fact, Malkin owned the playoffs and the regular season when the PENS (not crosby!!!) won the cup. Above that, the top 3 player in the world are Datsyuk, Malkin & Ovechkin. The NA-Media talks always about Crosby, cause hes the best canadian, thats it. ->

Clearly, this rivalry is one of the best in sports. Of course these two have different positions, and their playing styles are different. I like Crosby a lot, but I am willing to accept the fact that Ovechkin is a good player, if not for the wrong decisions he makes, by making game-suspending hits. And besides, I think it's Crosby's turn for fame - the Winter Olympics, and not to mention that he was one out of 2 players to beat Ovechkin for the Goal Scoring Title.

Ovechkin could be a playmaker like Crosby if he had the supporting cast of Crosby, and Ovechkin would rather score goals anyway...Crosby can't score like Ovechkin, though

The point of being a playmaker is to make those around you better. That's how Crosby was brought up, to be a playmaking center. Ovechkin was brought up to be a goal-scoring leftwinger. You can't compare their game, because they play different styles. Stop trying to say that one is better than the other.
