@fezguy89 US men's soccer has yet to develop an identity or style. Too many of our players learned the game playing primarily "organized" soccer for clubs, rather than as children playing pickup on empty fields or backyards. It's not really fun to watch. Mexico, by contrast, was very very naturally skilled in this last match. I hope they can carry this forward onto the world stage.

I've followed the USWNT for almost ten years now, and it always seems to me that women's sports are commentated much differently than men's: the commentators on women's matches never seem too keen to criticize the play on the pitch, which is something I'd like to hear more of in games like this. More "Not a very good cross, if we're being critical" and less "Good effort but just missed." Drives me nuts. They're not made of glass.

@323157 You're an idiot and it's painfully obvious you didn't watch any of this game. Mexico's keeper is a 16-year-old phenom, and the girl was on point yesterday. She made great stops, and seemed to pick up a knock right before this shot, hence why she seems to be standing still on this goal. Really, there wasn't much she could do to stop it, the shot should have been closed down.
