this song is for the times when you're sad or just melancholic, u know when u'r alone in the dark in ur room sitting by the window watching rain thinking bout stuff etc. but this one watch?v=FXuUOUzomWU is rly hardcore that it steals 2 months of ur life when u listen to it. this one is like for the times when ur mom die (songs name is my mommy btw) or something rly bad and depressing happens. just listen to it and u'll see.
what a coincidence .... only a few days ago i got to know yann Tiersen... and now i accidently find such a great song he made .... i really love his music :3
The contrast between good and evil is very clear in this picture. The way there is only a small snippet of light at the bottom shows how through even the darkest, most morose scenarios, there is always that one piece of light. That one hope and dream which will never fade. It also goes perfectly with the music. Thank-you for uploading it!
@wertman264 Most of his songs isnt very hard, for example, i, as an absolute piano noob, was able to learn comptine d'un autre été in about two hours...
every person in their life. no matter who they are goes through stuff others couldnt possibly imagine. this song helps you kind of understand the pain and sorrow they go through..we all are only human.
@SuBZeRoxT You're super profound too! There are so many wise deep people commenting on this song. Perhaps you could recite some poetry for me? PURDY PLOX?
i would absolutly love to learn how to play piano....no matter how long it took.... but i dont have the money to get someone to teach me....at least I can listen to it

Normally I listen to Industrial / Dark Electro / Power Noise and other distorted-beat-pumping genres , but once in a while I like to take shelter around this type of music , still dark and somewhat depressing but with that flicker of hope right where it needs to be . Great song , thanks for the upload !
in the dark, all alone, these solid walls, they block my way back home,i sit here, for a million years, i breathe in rusty air, where is the door, where, the fire burns in me when i get real angry, high hopes turn into sad letters, a bird died yesterday with one last feather, i hear the door open, and i feel air rush in, in the dark all alone high hopes get torn..
@justalilcountrygirl1 It's easy, infact you could learn it with no piano lessons at all, just get an instructor to give you key positions. This is not a difficult piece.
@justalilcountrygirl1 It's beautiful, just remember, some of the most beautiful music requires lessons. Chopin and Debussy has some very beautiful music, for they are Romantic period composers.
I've been listening to classical off and on as a child and am now 20 and still listen. I know plenty of my friends who also enjoy classical but then again we all enjoyed a vast variety of music as long as the song has a good combo of instruments. If a rap song as musical qualities I would listen to that regardless.
what a beautiful piece of music. i love the comments too. going through a pretty weird time at the moment and this sort of sentiment I can really relate to. it's a bit of a cliche when people say "nobody understands", but... music does. if you find the right piece. i can't play music but have a couple of songs I've just sung during a bizarre time in my life. have a look at my channel if this might interest you for whatever reason.
I'm 21 years old, and I hate the fact that if I would drive somewhere with my friends and play a classical song like this one, they'd look at me like i'm crazy. Expecially when a lott of my Older familiy members are great musicians. Songs like this will put my mind to ease and give me a sense of purity. lol. yeaah
@khriztoe: I think that you are right. Much people give these kind of songs no chance. I was like that once too but got into this kind of music bit by bit. I listen to a lot of different music sorts but it took me more time to get into these songs than the others. I think that your environement does influence this. Because nobody around you listens to this, you're not exposed to it so you need to learn to listen it.
It saddens me that Beethoven and Bach (2 of my favorites) is being outdone by 50Cent and Snoop Dogg.
I'm aware one can easily argue that Bach and Beethoven have been around much longer that any rap artist is likely to ever be. But what about the composers that live (or lived) in our era, that we love listening to, but do not have the tag of greatness behind their names?
I may be an over-philosophical idealist, but in 10sec I found a 50C video with 22,229,331 views.
Taste is influenced by what you are exposed to, and exposure is affected by previous generations' taste. Very few people can look subjectively at a new style of music when they believe they have already found their taste.
I listen mainly to classical and alternative rock (actually any song with what I perceive as good lyrics). I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's a shame the ratio of classic to rock listeners among the youth is virtually 1-99.
I think you're not realizing it would be worst if classical music beggins to be "EXPOSED". Such music shouldn't be GIVEN, it should be TAKEN.
Those who feel "the need" will search for that type of music.
Personally I was listening to rap/hip-hop 10 years ago, but at a certain point I felt something is missing inside me, and I filled it with the music I've searched for.
So, my advice is...let such music for those WHO KNOW HOW TO APPRECIATE IT and need it.
@MelancholicDestiny Very true. I always try to make that point, you worded it pretty well. Like people will say things like, "People listen to terrible music because that's all that is out now days and it's not their fault becuase they were never shown what good music is." (like all these new rappers out now days). See me, I realize what pure garbage is and I spent long hours searching for good music, downloading albums...
@MelancholicDestiny same here, i just resently started listening to piano. im hoping to learn how... i guess i need a piano first. but i feel something missing too, and ive always loved fur elise by beethoven, but never really appreciated the music. now ive been liking this kind of music and shakespears plays. maybe its part of becoming mature (: instead of listening to rap. but im not saying rap is bad... it just not me. this and rock r me (:
@brittanyraye13 Learning a piano is a difficult choise in my opinion, cause once you learned how this pieces are done you could easily lose "the magic" they transmited you before.
@khriztoe I love classical. I don't reall know many songs, but whenever I hear it I leave it on. Many rock songs are good, but that shit will give u a headache after a while. like chill out, relax...... lol. classical is the shittt. can't be more pure music than that.
@khriztoe I don't think taste is influenced by exposure. The things that happen in life do not effect us as much as the way we interpret them. Every one around me my whole life have listened to Rap, Rock. I do appreciate Rock, country, I find them good to listen to. I do not listen to the piano, I feel the piano although I am actually the only person I know that enjoys classical piano.
it is so beautiful and sad at the same time. My father is dead and some days ago I dreamt of him so when I woke up I got sad because it was just a dream, this song reminds me how nostalgic I feel sometimes for not to see my dad again
It's so unappreciated. I know of 3 people that share my passion for classical music (1 enjoys the more sad/heavy/dark, like me), all +30 years older than me.
I'm just wondering if this music will still be easily available in 30 years time.
I know most 20 year olds don't listen to classical music, but I doubt anyone I know will start at a later age.
Geographical area and culture play a roll, both not in my favor, which can lead to a wrong assumption, but will Bach and Beethoven life on?
I'm not saying there aren't young people listening to classical music. I'm saying that for every under 21 listening to classical music, there are 99 who'll never be willing to try, which I know is their loss.
I just believe the music deserves more, and would receive more if people were just willing to listen objectively.
It's like 1 of 2 equally talented artists struggling to get by while the other is rich.
It's a matter of perceptions, and as I said, I'm an over-philosophical idealist.
