  • this music plays at heavy rain(game) :P amazing music!!!

  • i am hearing this song and i think the cloud are moving...

  • Why doesnt youtube have a repeat button...

  • this song is for the times when you're sad or just melancholic, u know when u'r alone in the dark in ur room sitting by the window watching rain thinking bout stuff etc. but this one watch?v=FXuUOUzomWU is rly hardcore that it steals 2 months of ur life when u listen to it. this one is like for the times when ur mom die (songs name is my mommy btw) or something rly bad and depressing happens. just listen to it and u'll see.

  • There is a deep sound in the background of this song, little bit like far thunder...

Or is it just my breath?

  • @TheWildlife12 yea its probably white noise of some sort i hear it on my bose's lol

  • A friend showed me this today...its beautiful.

  • what a coincidence .... only a few days ago i got to know yann Tiersen... and now i accidently find such a great song he made .... i really love his music :3

  • only in darkness can one see light.. let there be dark then.

  • @psykiem Wow u liek, so profound. What wisdom and insight! I'll pray to you tonight and maybe then god will take away my cancer!

  • I don't know where I can find the score ....

    This song is so beautiful...

  • So beautiful <3 And what is the name of the piano song? :)

  • The contrast between good and evil is very clear in this picture. The way there is only a small snippet of light at the bottom shows how through even the darkest, most morose scenarios, there is always that one piece of light. That one hope and dream which will never fade. It also goes perfectly with the music. Thank-you for uploading it!

  • @Chao500 "for there is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so" - Shakespeare. give that a tought....

  • @durlidurlidam since there exists thinking and you cannot make it disapear or either stop it. there is good and evil

  • Comment removed

  • Very very beautiful ;)

  • @MelancholicDestiny well there's still Hip Hop music that is incredible.. not on the radio though.. look up Prince Ea, The HRSMN, Canibus, etc.

  • the picture is damn beautiful.

  • I WILL LEARN PIANO. I WILL PLAY A SONG LIKE THIS. I WILL MAKE SOMEONE CRY.

  • @wertman264 Most of his songs isnt very hard, for example, i, as an absolute piano noob, was able to learn comptine d'un autre été in about two hours...

  • We are all fucked up...but find the strength and rise up !

  • The person, who disliked this, died because he/she could'nt handle the awesomeness of this song!

  • every person in their life. no matter who they are goes through stuff others couldnt possibly imagine. this song helps you kind of understand the pain and sorrow they go through..we all are only human.

  • @SuBZeRoxT You're super profound too! There are so many wise deep people commenting on this song. Perhaps you could recite some poetry for me? PURDY PLOX?

  • i Love it

  • i dont have taste when it comes to music. i like this, i like led zeppelin, i like eminem, i like streetlight manifesto, i like blink 182, i like collie buddz, i like kesha, i like cypress hill, i like dubstep, etc... there is no bad music, only bad songs

  • great song from yann but one of my favorits is mother journey

  • Normally I listen to Industrial / Dark Electro / Power Noise and other distorted-beat-pumping genres , but once in a while I like to take shelter around this type of music , still dark and somewhat depressing but with that flicker of hope right where it needs to be . Great song , thanks for the upload !

  • You have done a beautiful job adding this picture, it fit perfectly together with the composition. Thank you for uploading, *favoritted.

  • @SecretMisery thank you for noticing that.

The sun rising at the bottom represents the light, the hope. The rest is the darkness around.

  • @MelancholicDestiny

whered you get the picture? its wonderfully fitting.

  • in the dark, all alone, these solid walls, they block my way back home,i sit here, for a million years, i breathe in rusty air, where is the door, where, the fire burns in me when i get real angry, high hopes turn into sad letters, a bird died yesterday with one last feather, i hear the door open, and i feel air rush in, in the dark all alone high hopes get torn..

  • :).

  • do you play this yourself sir melancholicdestiny

  • @Krazystink1 The creator of this piece is Yann Tiersen. I have simply uploaded his music.

  • one of his best songs and my favourite

  • Amazing.

  • pepole should be able to appreciate this its beutiful i listen to mostly country but i love classical

  • @justalilcountrygirl1 This isn't classical. This is contemporary.

  • @VladtheImpaler31 oh ok opps i just no that it is very beautiful and i would love to be able to play like that

  • @justalilcountrygirl1 It's easy, infact you could learn it with no piano lessons at all, just get an instructor to give you key positions. This is not a difficult piece.

  • @VladtheImpaler31 thanks it is really beautiful i cant wait to get a piano instead of a keyboard :)

  • @justalilcountrygirl1 It's beautiful, just remember, some of the most beautiful music requires lessons. Chopin and Debussy has some very beautiful music, for they are Romantic period composers.

  • I've been listening to classical off and on as a child and am now 20 and still listen. I know plenty of my friends who also enjoy classical but then again we all enjoyed a vast variety of music as long as the song has a good combo of instruments. If a rap song as musical qualities I would listen to that regardless.

  • what a beautiful piece of music. i love the comments too. going through a pretty weird time at the moment and this sort of sentiment I can really relate to. it's a bit of a cliche when people say "nobody understands", but... music does. if you find the right piece. i can't play music but have a couple of songs I've just sung during a bizarre time in my life. have a look at my channel if this might interest you for whatever reason.

  • ah this is what i needed and yes indeed i love this music ah im moved me in a way

  • im 15 and i enjoy all things black/ambient/gothic and classic =D

  • @zacjar12 Hey me2 :P

  • I'm 21 years old, and I hate the fact that if I would drive somewhere with my friends and play a classical song like this one, they'd look at me like i'm crazy. Expecially when a lott of my Older familiy members are great musicians. Songs like this will put my mind to ease and give me a sense of purity. lol. yeaah

  • Thanks for uploading this, its really beautiful.

  • i dont know why im so drawn towards dark and ominous classical music

  • @MarkLKJ

I know for myself, If you have pain in your soul, you will be drawn to this type of music...

    I always am.

  • very nice. the type of music that makes u want to sell ur soul. i love it.

    ~sheLL

  • that pictures sick

  • Great song for sure.

@khriztoe: I think that you are right. Much people give these kind of songs no chance. I was like that once too but got into this kind of music bit by bit. I listen to a lot of different music sorts but it took me more time to get into these songs than the others. I think that your environement does influence this. Because nobody around you listens to this, you're not exposed to it so you need to learn to listen it.

  • This makes me think of shadows and rain...sad and strangely inviting.

  • I have searched for pieces as beautiful as this. Rarely do I ever find them. This is wonderful.

  • (2 of 2)

It saddens me that Beethoven and Bach (2 of my favorites) is being outdone by 50Cent and Snoop Dogg.

I'm aware one can easily argue that Bach and Beethoven have been around much longer that any rap artist is likely to ever be. But what about the composers that live (or lived) in our era, that we love listening to, but do not have the tag of greatness behind their names?

    I may be an over-philosophical idealist, but in 10sec I found a 50C video with 22,229,331 views.

  • well thats bcuz people suck.

Taste is influenced by what you are exposed to, and exposure is affected by previous generations' taste. Very few people can look subjectively at a new style of music when they believe they have already found their taste.

I listen mainly to classical and alternative rock (actually any song with what I perceive as good lyrics). I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's a shame the ratio of classic to rock listeners among the youth is virtually 1-99.

  • Comment removed

  • I think you're not realizing it would be worst if classical music beggins to be "EXPOSED". Such music shouldn't be GIVEN, it should be TAKEN.

Those who feel "the need" will search for that type of music.

Personally I was listening to rap/hip-hop 10 years ago, but at a certain point I felt something is missing inside me, and I filled it with the music I've searched for.

So, my advice is...let such music for those WHO KNOW HOW TO APPRECIATE IT and need it.

  • @MelancholicDestiny Very true. I always try to make that point, you worded it pretty well. Like people will say things like, "People listen to terrible music because that's all that is out now days and it's not their fault becuase they were never shown what good music is." (like all these new rappers out now days). See me, I realize what pure garbage is and I spent long hours searching for good music, downloading albums...

  • @MelancholicDestiny same here, i just resently started listening to piano. im hoping to learn how... i guess i need a piano first. but i feel something missing too, and ive always loved fur elise by beethoven, but never really appreciated the music. now ive been liking this kind of music and shakespears plays. maybe its part of becoming mature (: instead of listening to rap. but im not saying rap is bad... it just not me. this and rock r me (:

  • @brittanyraye13 Learning a piano is a difficult choise in my opinion, cause once you learned how this pieces are done you could easily lose "the magic" they transmited you before.

  • @MelancholicDestiny not really. i compose and play all sorts of music... nothing looses the magic, it jsut makes it a hell lot cooler.

  • @MelancholicDestiny and when i said im hoping to learn how.. i meant how to play lol

  • @khriztoe I love classical. I don't reall know many songs, but whenever I hear it I leave it on. Many rock songs are good, but that shit will give u a headache after a while. like chill out, relax...... lol. classical is the shittt. can't be more pure music than that.

  • @khriztoe i am 1 out of that 99 ratio i guess hahaha classical piano is my main music i listen to

  • @khriztoe I listened to it since I can remember and I listen to various other genres as well.

  • @khriztoe YES! I'm one in ninety-nine!

  • @khriztoe I'm one!! *Yay*

  • @khriztoe I listen to classic and rock. Im a all round music lover ^.^

  • @khriztoe I don't think taste is influenced by exposure. The things that happen in life do not effect us as much as the way we interpret them. Every one around me my whole life have listened to Rap, Rock. I do appreciate Rock, country, I find them good to listen to. I do not listen to the piano, I feel the piano although I am actually the only person I know that enjoys classical piano.

  • it is so beautiful and sad at the same time. My father is dead and some days ago I dreamt of him so when I woke up I got sad because it was just a dream, this song reminds me how nostalgic I feel sometimes for not to see my dad again

  • beautiful picture

  • Thank you very much choimaru08.

Agree with you. This picture in a certain way represants the track I uploaded. A dark, desolated, quiet and melancholic place.

  • Yet with a beauty that so unjustly goes unnoticed.

I find it difficult to believe music such as this is lost on the world.

  • Is lost? What do you mean?

  • It's so unappreciated. I know of 3 people that share my passion for classical music (1 enjoys the more sad/heavy/dark, like me), all +30 years older than me.

I'm just wondering if this music will still be easily available in 30 years time.

I know most 20 year olds don't listen to classical music, but I doubt anyone I know will start at a later age.

Geographical area and culture play a roll, both not in my favor, which can lead to a wrong assumption, but will Bach and Beethoven life on?

  • @khriztoe not true im under the age of 18 and i listen to these songs!

  • I'm not saying there aren't young people listening to classical music. I'm saying that for every under 21 listening to classical music, there are 99 who'll never be willing to try, which I know is their loss.

I just believe the music deserves more, and would receive more if people were just willing to listen objectively.

It's like 1 of 2 equally talented artists struggling to get by while the other is rich.

It's a matter of perceptions, and as I said, I'm an over-philosophical idealist.

  • @khriztoe classical music is my passion. especialy dark piano music

  • @khriztoe ha am only 16 and I love classical music :)

  • @khriztoe not lost but soon to be rediscovered and loved by many

  • amazing... all that can be said

  • absolutely great too!!!!! xD

    sad, but nevermind !!!!

  • GREAT!
