  • so intense

  • The book is JUST GREAT! I haven't seen the movie yet.

  • this movies interesting until about halfway through when it deteriorates into a david lynch film

  • why the hell is "moustache" a feminine word? french makes no sense whatsoever

  • @rautiocination because the french are elegant and sexy and full of passion and seduction and class

  • Oh dear lord, look at him looking in the trash.

Also, isn't "La" the feminine of "Le"? I should think it would be "Le Moustache", seeing as only boys grow mustaches (except menopausal women and bearded ladies in the circus...)

  • @CreamyMacarooney French language is full of odd things.

We say "la moustache" (the mustache), "la barbe" (the beard), "la virilité" (virility), "la testicule" (the testicle)...

Don't look for obvious things in the French language^^

  • @buckdichbitte Just like the English language, I guess n_n

  • I had to read the book for school.... way worst than the movie really. omg =/

Jai du lire le lire pour l'ecole et cetait pire que le film

  • It's a great movie with a haunting underlying sense of reality. While some of the movie seems almost tongue n' cheek....it's also quite serious. It's well acted.

  • is this a joke? i can never know with these french people...

  • seems like something interesting to watch.

  • I love how he immediately gets upset that no one is noticing his lack of moustache. To the point that it ruins his marriage and career.

Also, this movie makes no sense. It is as if the writer/director intentionally arranged the story elements in such a way that it produces a non-sequitur.

  • this looks really funny so I am glad I am not the only one who found it funny haha

  • This actually looks like a very intriguing movie, but I can't help but feel like this trailer is a parody of psychological thrillers. I'm not sure if I hope I'll find the movie unintentionally hilarious or deep to the point that I don't even find the dramatic mustache discussions humorous.

  • @StarWarsFanSWF

I have just watched the movie... and to be quite honest... it was the strangest thing I have ever seen. The movie it's self is not funny at all, and is an intriguing mind fuck that constantly barrages the watcher with twists and turns. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS FILM.

  • @weirdwyx I agree! I rented it because the title was funny and, well, it was centered around a mustache. But then I started watching it, and EVERY single scene is a new plot twist and by the end you're just like "what the fuck just happened?" And you never really know....

  • l.o.l.

  • Le meilleur film de tout les temps. Franchement, arriver à faire un thriller avec une moustache, une veste verte, et pékin, c'est un challenge. Bravo messieurs. xD

  • I would watch this anyday over the drivel and shit that comes out in American theaters. Who needs yet another super hero movie when we have... LA MOUSTACHE

  • hahahaah, the trailer looks so funny. But I think I cannot watch the whole movie, only about a missing moustache haha.

  • This movie is a sequel to La piste d'atterrissage (The Landing Strip).

  • i'm- i'm a bit confused... althought the idea of a movie about a moustache is posably one of the best things ever. the face that it is about a moustache is also one off the oddest and least- okay i'm bored, i dont feel like finishing this comment.

  • This is a wonderful drama with a touch of Kafka's psychological horror. I really don't see what the fuck some people are laughing about.

  • @chefragoo One reason people are laughing is because this trailer is hilarious. The movie itself might be a psychologically taut suspense thriller or whatever. But we're watching a trailer that combines an absurd concept with swelling orchestra music and people shouting about a moustache. That's funny. :D

  • this movie is f'in brilliant. its not a comedy. its a psychological thriller about this man that thinks everyone is lying to him. iits truly amazing

  • I really like this guy, i saw him in WELCOME, he is great!

  • This movie is a complete French mind fuck in the ass with a sand paper condom! I'm so fuckin' confused hahahaha

  • @Connorkaze26 You get confused easily, don't you?

  • @Connorkaze26 I could not have said it better than that! haha

  • This is a real movie? Wow. I wonder what they'll make next...

  • this isnt a commedy it maybe has a couple humorous parts. this is a cool movie though its interesting and you're like wtf???

  • is this supposed to be a comedy?

because it looks like and over exagerated story. his life is like being torn apart because of his former mustache i need 2 see this now

  • Ce film a lair bon sérieux

  • "the guy who thought he had a mustache....BUT DIDN'T!" DUN DUN DUNNNN

  • it's one of the movies you can watch instantly on netflix.

  • did anyone know were i can see online and free this movie?

quelqu'un sait óu je peu voir le film online et gratuitement?

  • I love this film! XD

  • So it's a conspiracy about a ... moustache? THAT IS AWESOME.

  • Lols. I love this movie despite the fact it makes NO sense.

  • I have the book and the book sucks ass but the movie looks good WTF THIS IS BULLCRAP

  • great idea for a film, cause I would freak the fuck out too.

  • i found it in this in the foreing section of blockbuster.

  • Man, Thats crazy!. Is this movie by chance in any blockbuster?

  • yes

  • I MUST WATCH!

  • this seems like an AWESOME MOVIE!

  • I found out about this movie while searching random things in google in class. My friends and I read what it was about and couldnt stop laughing. We've watched it several times, and still don't understand it. We have come to the conclusion that the answer has something to do with a) the broken shoelace b) the washing machine and c) the ugly green jacket.

  • Many people thinks that it was all just a dream, and his kind of awake in the end scenes. Where he founds the postcard he never sent, and it can easily start over "again".

  • Just saw this yesterday on the Sundance channel. after that I watched "Discreet Charm of the Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie".

I like French movies but why are they always soo complicated, confusing, abstract, weird yet entertaning?

  • This was hilarious, a great watch.

  • Best Premise for a movie EVER!! ahahah

  • I need to rewatch this film. I remember loving it.

  • It's not a dream, it's the kind of movie that doesn't give an answer. Is his wife crazy or is he? I think his wife is playing a joke on him and all their friends are in on it. The reason I think that is because when they visit their friends in the beginning of the film, they say that she broke the water heater and never admitted to it. So she's the kind of person that would lie out of pride, and to be passive aggressive. Great film, check it out :)

  • It seems that it's a dream because the movie begins with an ocean water scene and ends with an ocean water viewing scene after it appears that he slept and then then awoke. It's possible that it's fluctuating parellel universes but it seems like it's a dream. Remember the 80's tv show,Dallas, when the "Bobby" character had died-for 1 season (actor wanted out of his contract)- the next season he returned (the actor-Patrick Duffy, apparrently missed the money) when his wife told him of her "dream"

  • My interpretation is that protagonist has schizophrenia. His life in Hong Kong is the ONLY true element throughout the film. Until his immagined wife and friends appear, even in his true world, impossibly.

Last quotes "Let me come with you." "You'll be back won't you?"

His loneliness made him accept her immagined presence. Last shot: Infinite sorrow in his eyes.

  • this was THE funniest movie i have ever watched. i don't even remember how it ends, i was laughing too hard.

  • XD same here.

  • @katiel2369 So you've actually watched it? It's really that funny? I don't really trust trailers, but I'm hoping it' has Wicker Man levels of unintentional comedy.

  • @oancitizen I watched it 1-2 years ago. This film isn't so especially funny (the plot is, the film no especially). Althought it doesn't seems, it reminds me some Hitchcock thrillers or some films like "The Game" (Michael Douglas), or the fantastic "The Machinist" (Brad Anderson's movie).

The final part is too crazy, but the rest of the film is surprisingly interesting.

  • the guy from the diving bell and the butterfly is in this movie, cool.

  • that's weird...all says that the movie is really good but my friends says that is the worst movie EVER... I can't tell if it's good or bad, I didn't see it....

  • When people are in opposites about a movie like that... it usually means a masterpiece is born.

Watch it. It'll be worth the 50/50 risk of not liking it.

  • great movie, i really liked it!

does anyone know whats the music called?

  • Philip Glass, Violin Concerto

  • thanks a lot! great song

  • i've seen this movie and it's really cool...but sort of confusing...it's weird to make a mustache center focus of movie, but it's very cool.

  • the perfect movie topic XD

  • LOLOLOLOLOL.

  • He can't find peace, because he can't forget, but if he says a word, he may destroy this reality/illusion too.

  • Every couple has a third personality. From each others segment. When Marc realises that Agnés, and they friends can't see him fully, his soul, his dreams, and they start to tell: these tings are never existed, Marc falls into deep doubtfullness. He finally find home in the sea, between the two coast. In nihil, in peace, and when he throws away the mobile and the postcard, he fully lose contact with the reality. He's in Balí now, with that idiot green suit (Agnés herself), and dreaming.

  • Check out the dinner scene. First there are unfinished champagne glasses on the table and suddenly there are red wine glasses.(He reacts surprised in suddenly seeing the red wine glasses.) So,inherently shaving off his moustache created this situation.

    Qu'est-ce que vous pensez?

  • I've seen this film several times. At first,I thought his wife had memory lapses or attention-span/forgetfulness problems. But realizing that his work colleague gave an opinion that he hadn't had a moustache in 15 years leaves me to think that there's an ebb and flow of alternate realities/universes going on here.

  • I need help. Im scared I had a moustache too. where the hell is it! aaaaaaaaaa

  • great movie. The mustache represents marc's sanity.

  • ....

  • never seen the movie

but the trailer is funny even if its not suppose to be

  • This movie is a masterpiece. After more than a year I'm still thinking about it. We find different meanings for this film, they're all good, none is false.

  • I think it's also a dream, and two parallel universes. In the end, he wakes up to the reality, but can't sleep again, 'cause he found that exect postcard in the pocket of his suite.

  • Interesting. I'll watch the movie again and look into that interpretation.

  • hmmm i just saw that pretty interesting ......i d like to know someones opinion on the message of this movie

  • That synopsis sounds pretty good. I hope they have got something really surreal and disturbing, or funnily dark out of it...

  • Great film!

tényleg nagyon jó film ajánlom mindenkinek, amúgy szeptember 1-én lesz a duna tv-ben 8 körül!

  • this film devastates me.
