Wow, I learned a lot just reading all your comments. Can someone tell me what a Jeanist is? Also to correct someone's comment....Micky and Hero are not from the US. Micky was only here a few years. His English is not that great. Hero is absolutely not from the US. As for comparing the 2 groups, no other group(in my eyes)can a cappella like DBSK. I'm a die hard DBSK fan. But I just recently discovered Kat-tun and I'm absolutely in love with them too. They just exude
.....sex appeal(especially Jin) and they are multi-talented. I love Kat-Tun's recent music. So to me, both groups are great. It's kinda like Backstreet Boys and N'Sync back in the days.
TVXQ r both Jpop and Kpop artist officially. They debuted in Japan in 2005 under a Jap. management .They broke the Hallyu wave , they didnt ride w/ it. They started singing at shopping malls staircases & school flatforms during their 1st PR's in Japan despite winning all the awards in Korea the day b4.
What they have achieved so far in Japan is already something to be proud of.
And they're just starting~ lets see how far we'll go.
I think the funniest thing whenever there's Kattun and TVXQ blah anywhere is that fans talk about both groups w/o knowing the capabilities of one or the other.lol~

As a proper singing group, when you're brilliant as singers, you wouldn't need all those side projects like acting, hosting shows, and others to make your package look more attractive and complete. DBSK does not do variety shows because they get invited to shows, to sing, which is their main career. Actors can act, why do we need members in a group to act as well? I really don't get it.
deary, that's what singing is for esp since kattun debuted as a boy band. bands are generally suppose to sing and not focus more on there acting careers.
boybands/music groups & idol groups are different, especially in Japan.
Idol groups in Japan do all kinds of things; sing, act, dance, perform, host shows etc, multi-talents...KAT-TUN although releases a lot of singles & are very much in the music industry...they are still a idol group, so they still do many other things.
DBSK is mainly a boyband/music group, they mainly focus on their music.
Kat-tun has SO many talents than DBSk? (acting, hosting show, best jeanist, make funny jokes w killer smiles, arrange programs, high notes.). Really, are all those skills IMPORTANT for a singing group? Seriously, DBSk is better in terms of vocals, ability to evoke emotions through songs and sound like they mean it, and they've written songs!
let me ask you a question? can kattun even sing rescue live wihtout messing up? Song's can't beat songs. Songs are all composed with care. Songs are rated as crappy or uncrappy. Dbsk can at least sing mirotic without messing up unlike katttun. Kame cant reach high notes and jin lip syncs half the time
@katherine3291992 No way.....Kame CAN reach high notes and Jin doesn't lip sync(mayb sometimes he does when he is dancing). Do you even watch them ?? I think Jin has the best voice in KAT-TUN. Check out their recent songs like Change Ur World coz Kame does more high notes in them.
I love my Kat-tun, but, imo, DBSK is really good. You can't deny the fact that they're closer both as a team and as a group, plus they have a lot of variety in their skills as well. And as singers, I think they're more versatile/vocally talented. Yeah, Kat-tun is talented, but so is DBSK: all of them have composed/written something at some point, they all play instruments, they can act, they can model, they can sing acapella, they can dance, they're entertaining, they speak more languages, etc.

DBSK may not be as multi-talented as Kat-tun at this moment, but lets not forget that Kat-tun had 3 years more experience in the entertainment business than DBSK. Another thing to note is that DBSK are NOT Japanese. They spent a good deal of their time learning and adapting to the Japanese language and culture, and if nothing else, I believe that deserves commending. Also, DBSK can beatbox (JaeJoong) and Micky is from US, so he writes a good deal of their English rap (which he and Yunho does)

Actually, KAT-TUN has surpassed NewS now :) after their big senpai Arashi (who is now the most dominant group in JE), KAT-TUN are the next dominant group, these 2 groups are always the top 2 in JE in terms of record sales & popularity! :)
I think ever since KAT-TUN debuted, they've always been ahead of NewS.
As soon as KAT-TUN released their debut single, album & DVD (all at the same time), they immediately set several records in Japan! Which is very impressive! :)

TVXQ r both Jpop and Kpop artist officially. They debuted in Japan in 2005 under a Jap. management .They broke the Hallyu wave , they didnt ride w/ it. They started singing at shopping malls staircases & school flatforms during their 1st PR's in Japan despite winning all the awards in Korea the day b4.
What they have achieved so far in Japan is already something to be proud of.
And they're just starting~ lets see how far we'll go.
BigEast + Cassiopeia + Int' fans + TVXQ = ONE!!!

Why do people always compare these two groups?
I mean, i discovered DBSK and became a fan immediatly,they're so talented and so handsome. I saw that Kat-tun and DBSK are always compared so i searched for Kat-tun too... Kat-tun is a very charming boys band too, but sorry the two bands are not comparable. And it's not just a question of taste. DBSK are better in a musical point of view. They can sing better,dance better, and have more powerful performances. So DBSK all the way

i LOVE both of them, well, i've been a fan of DBSK for long time ago, so DBSK just rules (for me), but recently i like Kat-tun A LOT.
Nobody can say that DBSK or Kat-tun are just idol posting for the camera and they have no talents. BOTH have BOTH, looks and PLENTY talents. They have their own unique sides that make the fans just love them.

As a proper singing group, when you're brilliant as singers, you wouldn't need all those side projects like acting, hosting shows, and others to make your package look more attractive and complete. DBSK does not do variety shows because they get invited to shows, to sing, which is their main career. Actors can act, why do we need members in a group to act as well? I really don't get it.

boybands/music groups & idol groups are different, especially in Japan.
Idol groups in Japan do all kinds of things; sing, act, dance, perform, host shows etc, multi-talents...KAT-TUN although releases a lot of singles & are very much in the music industry...they are still a idol group, so they still do many other things.
DBSK is mainly a boyband/music group, they mainly focus on their music.
While KAT-TUN focuses on many things.

Kat-tun has SO many talents than DBSk? (acting, hosting show, best jeanist, make funny jokes w killer smiles, arrange programs, high notes.). Really, are all those skills IMPORTANT for a singing group? Seriously, DBSk is better in terms of vocals, ability to evoke emotions through songs and sound like they mean it, and they've written songs!

let me ask you a question? can kattun even sing rescue live wihtout messing up? Song's can't beat songs. Songs are all composed with care. Songs are rated as crappy or uncrappy. Dbsk can at least sing mirotic without messing up unlike katttun. Kame cant reach high notes and jin lip syncs half the time

anyway, i really hope you're just judging their 'Rescue' performances, and NOT as singers altogether.
I do get the feeling that you haven't seen much of KAT-TUN's live performances.
As for their 'Rescue' lives, I think some of them were actually pretty good.

@katherine3291992 No way.....Kame CAN reach high notes and Jin doesn't lip sync(mayb sometimes he does when he is dancing). Do you even watch them ?? I think Jin has the best voice in KAT-TUN. Check out their recent songs like Change Ur World coz Kame does more high notes in them.

I love my Kat-tun, but, imo, DBSK is really good. You can't deny the fact that they're closer both as a team and as a group, plus they have a lot of variety in their skills as well. And as singers, I think they're more versatile/vocally talented. Yeah, Kat-tun is talented, but so is DBSK: all of them have composed/written something at some point, they all play instruments, they can act, they can model, they can sing acapella, they can dance, they're entertaining, they speak more languages, etc.

Tohoshinki is a great chorus slash dancing group but heck they can't act, they can't host a show, they can't be a seiyu, they can't beatbox, they aren't a best jeanist etc.
KAT-TUN is like jack-of-all-trades and master of none so take a pick and be happy with it ^_^

he is a voice actor for the leading man in SPEED RACER and it was aired in japan in 2008.. hes always been in the TOP 10 in best artists/actors in Japan! and he has a BEAUTIFUL VOICE! the best ive ever heard!

DBSK may not be as multi-talented as Kat-tun at this moment, but lets not forget that Kat-tun had 3 years more experience in the entertainment business than DBSK. Another thing to note is that DBSK are NOT Japanese. They spent a good deal of their time learning and adapting to the Japanese language and culture, and if nothing else, I believe that deserves commending. Also, DBSK can beatbox (JaeJoong) and Micky is from US, so he writes a good deal of their English rap (which he and Yunho does)

As a matter of fact YES, ever since KAT-TUN's debut in 2006, EVERY single, album & DVD of theirs charted at #1 on the oricon charts!
Their concerts are sell-outs, basically everything of KAT-TUN sell like hot cakes!
And they win awards EVERY year at the Japan Gold Disc awards!
KAT-TUN also has set many records in Japan.
They also have many fans in other countries too.
I'm not saying that KAT-TUN are more talented singers than DBSK.
But now you understand how prominent KAT-TUN are.

Actually, KAT-TUN has surpassed NewS now :) after their big senpai Arashi (who is now the most dominant group in JE), KAT-TUN are the next dominant group, these 2 groups are always the top 2 in JE in terms of record sales & popularity! :)
I think ever since KAT-TUN debuted, they've always been ahead of NewS.
As soon as KAT-TUN released their debut single, album & DVD (all at the same time), they immediately set several records in Japan! Which is very impressive! :)

uh tohoshinki can at least speak 2 languages fluently korean and japanese. micky can speak english too so they aren't just blindingly singing without knowing the language like what you're implying. tohoshinki is an idol group too but one that i personally thought worth fangirling to as who can deny their hotness? i'd say that their hotness easily contributed like 80% of their success and the fact that they're talented is the icing of the cake
