If the hardware doesn't work all the time, then you can't play the games. That's the problem. If you have all the great 360 games, but the thing won't turn on, what good are they? I really do think that "branching" so to speak is a great direction for Nintendo to go in, because it allows characters to become more developed. But I think Nintendo also needs to hold to its core. SMB was an amazing game, both for its time and now. The same way people read Shakespeare, you have to appreciate the classics.
