I saw Carl and his band the next night at Lula Lounge in Toronto. That was my second time seeing him perform since ELP's concert at the Canadian National Exhibition's Grandstand in the 1970's. Thanks for posting your excellent video.
Thanks so much for posting this. I saw them last night in Rockville MD. Simply amazing. "Who is the best drummer?" will always be debated, but Carl has to be at the top of the list.
Regarding the band overall, I'd like to see more out of the guitarist. I suspect Carl likes the fact that his playing comes forth more than when playing with Keith, but I think a bit more is needed from the strings, maybe going to a Chapman stick or guitar synth is needed.
I was at the Hamilton show. Carl was better this time than he was 4 years ago at Hamilton Place. When ELP reformed in July 2010 for their concert, the music was slowed down somewhat. I'll tell you what, it wasn't because Carl Palmer couldnt keep pace. The most complete drummer ever to set foot in the rock world.
Carl Palmer signed my Asia album at this show... was awesome!
