What if we are actually alive in the era when the world does change to become something better, it has to happen to some generation. like you say we don't have thousands of years left. No matter what happens we need to keep our hope, compassion and sensibility alive.

VividHazE, only on some days do I think you are right about compassion. Go to the DEMOCRACY NOW website and watch the story of Maher Arar. Then read Truth Torture and the American Way. The more history you know the harder it is to believe in our Goodness. Hope, I work every day towards a differnt tomorrow. k

People have fallen for the same lies and propaganda over and over for thousands of years and will continue to do so for thousands more.

Do you really think we're going to be around that long? It's my view that mass propaganda is relatively new and is developing quickly. We have fundamental problems holding us back from understanding the 'truth', like attention spans and time limitations. But who can say how these things are going to change, even in the near future? Things do not stay the same, they are really quite dynamic. We have power, over ourselves at least. Don't give up.
