Thank you for this brilliant tribute to Barry Letts. Jon Pertwee is my favourite Doctor, who essentially set the moral compass for all Dr Who to come and I adored Caroline John as Elisabeth Shaw (I still do). Many thanks for this lovely piece fo work.
I am so sad that he has died, I always wanted to meet him and Terrence Dicks too. I always found the Jon Pertwee adventures easier to watch than the other Doctor Who's though, perhaps it was the fact that most of them were Earth-based, so it was more relaxed, or perhaps it was just Barry Letts influence. However, Pat Troughton is my fav, after all, Barry was involved in the production of such classics as 'The Enemy of the World'.
John Pertwee would have stayed on longer as the Doctor, except for the tragic death of Roger Delgado, in Turkey. A car in which he was a passenger, went off a cliff. Pertwee was absolutely devastated. God Bless them both.
True, that's a very nice way of putting it. Tom's always been my strong 2nd favourite, but I feel he got more lucky with stories, rather than had much better production teams. That and the fact that he pushed the boundaries of character performance.
NIce tribute - he was a good chap :-)

Ah yes but that's why Tom is one of the best Doctor's, he didn't just act like the doctor, he thought like him to.
