Particularly good chioces are: Tempest 2000, SOR2, Ridge Racer, KI, SOTN, and Actraiser. All of these soundtracks BLEW AWAY people when these things came out.
Although with his name, I really surprised that MGS2 didn't make the cut.

This list was laughable at best. The only things they got right were CT, FF6, and SOTN. Xenogears OST wasn't bad (I know a lot of people like it but its only average for me) I guess.
No Zelda games, no Metroid games, only 1 Mario game and it wasn't 3, MW, or 64. And like already pointed out, no MGS games either. Oh....and no Dragon Quest, Phantasy Star, Shining games.
I like this list, 90s biased? Yes, but 90s soundtracks were memorable and created awesome atmosphere considering the tech limitations. I do agree it's missing some Zelda/MGS/Portal but still beats Halo and Oblivion hands down.

In my opinion, some very good video game soundtracks should have been on this list, for example, the music of Morrowind is just awesome, and some music from halo is defenitely awesome too. But this list's okay I guess, for their time, these were all nice soundtracks.

I heard this story from my music teacher at school that there was once a music store where you could buy quitars and of course try em out before buying, however there was a rule that they shouldn't play that riff from Deep Purple's Smoke on the water because they have grew tired to it.

Old game didn"t have great flashy 3d design, so it worked more on the atmosphere. It used music and scenarii to move the gamer.

The list is about the soundtracks as a whole. Not the specific songs.
Although, yeah, it's a shame that Simon's Theme was not used to represent the Super Castlevania IV OST. It's a fantastic song.

Well if it werent for the amazing soundtracks in these retro games, I can bet that the soundtracks you hear today wouldn't be as good so stop complaining, I loved all his dicisions expecially final fantasy 6 and star fox :D

This video deserves much more than a 3 star avg.
Mega Man 2, Castlevania 4, Chrono Trigger, Star Fox, FF6, ActRaiser.. and more? Amazing, amazing list.

This is not a perfect list by any means. Some strange choices not bad, just things you don't usually see in these lists.
Lots of them DESERVE this though. If it weren't for this list, there wouldn't be any that would list Star Fox as having one of the best for example. ..
OH MY GOD. I just heard Tempest 2000 in the background. AMAZING soundtrack. Then ActRaiser, jesus christ.. .. wow this just went up a lot more in my book.
