bunch of low rr groups - we had a rr11 druid and I think I was rr7+(bard) and dudor rr7+(ani) and the rest of the players in our grp was rr 1-5.

Little do people know these days. This is what made WoW what it is. DAoC imo is the base of most MMORPGS there were others before. UO / AC / Everquest... but DAoC was the best of those imo.

3 realms fighting against each other was incredible. Keep sieges were epic.

People thinking about returning should do it. Servers peak well over 3000 in weekends, and almost always 2000+ in everyday primetime. Plus, EU gamers got 'forced' to transfer to the US cluster, to increase population for both parties of the atlantic. Good upportunity to meet new great people, and enjoy some good action, relics are flying around. Good balance of the realms atm.

You have to manually download and install the new housing files into your UI. Just google it, the files are on their homesite.

You can download a modified version of ghost UI here. It should be up to date as far as i know...

You pre-kite well but made some odd decisions vs those zerkers I thought, you were kiting then you'd randomly turn round to start throwing bombers at them and get caught.

Other than that, was good! Thought you put down some pretty serious dps.

Lack of panning DURING fights, you dont know how to spike the dps..you cast 3 maybe 4 bombers and start life tapping while you trigger con debuff and its an uber spike thats hard to keep up with. Spamming bombers is just a waste of mana at the same time, time... and less of a "spike"..and your positioning versus some tank groups is pretty bad, you stay clumped up too much, and get hit by bl's quite a bit. I would suggest running around to find better positioning b4 casting be sneaky!

The population has just about doubled since i recorded that vid. There's usually about 3500-4000 players online during primetime (EU and US)

Google "daoc darkzone" to see population graphs, or just go to the camelotherald (official news site) to see news, the current online population etc.

My friend just went back to daoc think I will as well, I remember loving my animist. I was thinking I would roll a bain are they good at all anymore? I remember they were so fun then they got an aoe nerf and don't remember how they were after that, so anyone who still plays how are bains?

Well, if all you're looking for in a PvP MMO is big explosions, good for you!

I play DAoC because of the supperior casting and combat systems. It's just a lot more challenging than other games are, you really have no idea unless you've tried it yourself.

Damn that is a load of... that HUD is the most screwed up exagerated thing ive ever seen seriusly... DAMN! This is the 1st game ive seen with such an exagerated HUD, you can barely see your character!

Well, i could - if i wanted to - remove everything except the chat windows and the health/power bars (and main quickbar) to mace the UI very minimal. You can also move every single part of the UI to anywhere you want.

I like it that way though, i've got everything i need to see right at the centre of the screen and i think the visibility is fine...

That's a custom UI btw, many of these windows aren't even included in the standard one.

Currently they are clustering all the clusters together into a mega cluster in hopes to revive the population for rvr. But its taking some time, technical difficulties, but i have seen a ton of old players coming back and dusting off there old toons. Hope to see all you guys out there shortly! There's only one server left now but that server is hitting well above 3000 players every night (and so far only level 50 chars has been allowed to transfer) which is more than any server had even back in the days...
