Even if BeatMania and DJ Hero are both "themed" as DJ games, they are completely different games.

BeatMania is pure rhythm and difficulty, whereas DJ Hero (looks like it) at least makes some attempt to play like actual mixing.

I love how these music "artists" jump at any chance they can to make a buck. If DJ Jackass Jeff had done any research on rhythm video games besides playing his sons guitar hero, he would know that the DJ scene got and has been getting its "dues" as he says, for the past 12 years. Beatmania was released back in 1997 by Bemani, Konami's rhythm video game development team, and are already at their SIXTEENTH release this october.
