  • for some reason, i seriously lolled at the end.

Me: YOU PUT A TREE IN THE BED! YOU FAIL AT LIFE!

  • From the moans at 6:51 I doubt she was raped, sounded like she was enjoying it. I think the wolves are life experiences (harsh lessons, or stupid mistakes) and the girls dying are actually stages of their lives ending or "dying" in this case, Carmen was desperate for love & gave it up to the first man that was willing to take it, but he just used her and left. In a literal sense, he hacked her up and burned her, but in another sense he forever destroyed her innocence/virginity. Just my thoughts.

  • the lumberjack is the wolf ????????!!!

  • I think that maybe the path represents the path to adulthood, and that the "safe" path is doing what your told and the dangerous path is all the things that are more taboo. She's too young to be drinking and flirting with older men. Maybe they did do it, but she realized after she was too young, and wasn't ready. I think it's their innocence that dies, not them. It feels more like they're sinking into what they've done at the end. But that's just me.

  • this game scares me!

  • she was raped, hacked into pieces ( the slash on the wall ) and burned

  • I think it was more about a loss of innocence. The moans sort of indicate that it was more of a consensual thing, so I think that part that "died" in Carmen was her innocence.

  • Does anyone notice she puts her hands to her face at 7:52??

  • omfg I couldn't even finish the video. o_o Creeped me out as soon as she on the bridge thing to the house. D:

  • there's a lot more deep meaning in this game then just short minded hormonal deduction.

  • Comment removed

  • I think the lumberjack was sawing the grandma and she was moaning from torture... :/

  • wtf

  • this is like a bad dream...really bad

  • this is like a bad dream...

  • Carmen was raped by the lumberjack. The lumberjack killed her. The lumberjack threw the body in the wooden shack that was locked earlier and burned it. End of story.

  • I guess she's not been raped. She actually flirted with him, right? I mean, she's very sexual...

And she drank beer and got light headed and forgot to ... well.. to "stop" flirting.. and so they had sex.. Oo But that's just my oppinion.. :)

  • @Lihannanshee I see where you're coming from but I think, as others have stated, that she lost her innocence to what her interest was (sex). I think that even though she was flirting, she didn't realize what it could lead to and actually could have realized (too late) that sex isn't what she wanted but something else (love, to be cherished, etc). I tie this in to what Grenadeer09 said. She wanted sex until she realized that she was about to receive it and consequences were given. Just my opinion

  • T^T Sad

  • 6:55 - 7:41 wtf? Orgazm???

  • @012355469 yes it is xD

  • this is the eldest sister? cause i guess different things happen to the children depending on their age right? you wouldnt want to see a little 5 year old raped would you? or does that happen?

  • This game wouldn't hurt having a more railroaded story or interaction with the different parts of the story, like the big "important" things like the wolf can be missed, which is really annoying since the moving around takes alot of time. These small practical frustrations really kills the game for me :\

  • whats the point this game?

  • One thing is for certain, the creepy guy killed her with his axe, and I don't mean the body spray...

In any case, this intrigues me. I may try to find a copy.

  • @darkswordsmansol It's a Digital Download. No physical copies. This game HAS to go to XBLA. Who's with me?

  • @Narudude360 I know its a download, I just happen to say that one of something is a copy. Having the download will still be considered having a copy. Also I can't agree on the XBL comment. I just hate the controller too darn much.

  • this gam IS very deep

  • All I can say in response is....

*busts out into song* Heeee's a lumberjack and he's okay. He works all night and he sleeps all day!

  • Man, this game looks awesome. Too bad I'll never be able to play it, because... well, I'm a scaredy cat! This game scares me a lot! XD

  • I am so glad I watched this during the day instead of last night.

  • @Qtoyghs its night now and i regret it lol... o god! what was that behind me!? :D

  • This game is so disturbed in a "my kind of way" Love you girls :)

  • weird girl in white going in and out of tent then she ran... 7:40 waz very scary

  • 7:40 wtf is that?! i seriously got chills

  • creepy

  • you need so much patience

  • ILL

  • moans....didnt see that coming

  • Makes me sad that I can't play this game because it doesn't support integrated video cards. =(

  • One (in my view) interesting interpretation is that the act Carmen and the woodcutter engage in is, inebriation aside, entirely consensual. Like a lot of girls coming of age, she just made a bad choice and had sex with the first powerful, intimidating man who came along, but afterwards regrets losing her virginity to such a figure.

  • My first thought was that the man in the scene could be her father, or some other male relative. Taking off his hat and putting it on herself is definitely a sign of affection, yet he's obviously too old and paunchy to be a sexual symbol.

Maybe her father let his daughter have some beer on a camping trip, a rite of passage in which part of the little girl 'dies' in its way to becoming a woman.

  • @Curua Yay, somebody with a good theory that has nothing to do with rape. I prefer your idea over others. Seriously all this talk of rape crap ticks me off. Why can't it be a deep meaningful game with some scary parts but no rape scenarios whatsoever yet everybody is guessing rape?! *annoyed look*

  • Don't start saying that everyone watching this video is a pedophile. This is pure bad faith. Stay polite, thank you.

  • You rage hard. I'm not defending the game or supporting your claim, merely commenting on the fact that you describe this game as being retarded and yet you can not seem to recall how to spell the word.

  • Er... what argument? Allow me to quote my own words (I capitalized the important parts just for you, a-hyuck): "I'm NOT defending the game OR supporting your claim, merely COMMENTING on the fact that you describe this game as being retarded and yet you can not seem to recall how to spell the word."

And there we have it. I made a comment on your poor spelling and you raged. Calm down, good sir, before you rage a hole in the internet and break Godwin's Law.

  • I was just about to say that.

  • Really? Cause, you know, I completed the game with all seven (yes seven) characters and not once did my mind jump to pedophilia. I don't know why you and the rest of the Internet seem dead-set on thinking this game contains nothing but rape, or how it qualifies as 'retarded' despite it's many themes, but as an intellectual, I'll polietly ask you to consider the fact that there are other, less extreme interpretations of the meetings with the wolves and the game in general.

  • The game is considered a re-make or a homage to little Red Riding hood (the girls are different versions of her- thus all their names meaning red/ associated with something red).

Little Red is often interpreted as a metaphor- the transition of a little girl becoming a 'woman', The wolves obviously symbolizes men or predators (which her mother warned of).

In other interpretations, little Red is actually a prostitute.

I looked this up a long time ago on the internet and Library =P I had time.

  • the little red riding wolf (wich this game was inspired in) was it self a story of rape, just google it.

and, just read the poem in the trailler of this game: "Little girls,(...) Never trust a stranger-friend; No one knows how it will end. As youre pretty so be wise; Wolves may lurk in every guise. Handsome they may be, and kind and charming, nevermind! Now, as then, tis simple truth — Sweetest tongue has sharpest thoot " if that isnt about rape, i wonder what it is about :/

  • @TheLadyB33 in every kind of abuse also

  • what the F@#KS goen on, sorry i dont get it, an why later in the vid did it sound like a lumberjack orgy... WTF!!!???

  • omg bwhahahahahahahahahahahha lumberjack orguyygyyy

  • 8:00

GRANDMA YOU LEFT THE OVEN ON AGAIN

  • I think she was chopped in the head by that man/dad or whatever.

  • But nobody dies...? The ending shows that they're all alive. This game... is good, creepy and one hell of a mindfuck!

  • i think this game pretty much tells us why not to go into the forest...

  • how does the end tell that?

  • the sound makes it scary or better is to say that it feels unpleasant. The game feels unpleasant...

  • This is really creepy O_O

  • This game rules. Its only a few quid on steam too, such a bargain!

  • Damm, i'm definately too afraid of horrors to play, sorry. :P

  • I'm not sure whether playing it in the dark is a great idea anymore ;)

  • But there are not really shocking moment which makes the game not so horrible in tension...

  • Erm, she doesn't seem to be dead in the end ? Well I think I would never be able to play this game, I'm scared.

  • I bet half or more of the reviewers who said this game was about rape played Carmen and stopped after her death. =/

  • kinda weird yet interesting...

  • What's that? The woodman is killed her?

  • He killed her / raped her / raped and killed her... nothing is sure so you decide what happened. This game is about interpretation.

  • Wow... this game looks... creepy...

  • Hey man the path where you hear those Odd moaning?

are those moaning actually what i think it is O_O?

so let me guess. ( i did not play this game yet)

You decided to go to the safe path and lose? right?

    that's what the wiki says

  • This wasn't the "safe path". I took the wrong path (which is just wandering off into the forest) and where the game is a bit more entertaining. The odd moanings in the house i would say it is exactly what you think it is. I think they represent memories, what she's been through.

  • Sorry for that post. But i figured that out after the post

and yeah i agree with you om "represent" memories

Post traumatic. This is about growing up
