@hatecrewstudio i dont ignore evidence, ppl like you try to make false evidence out of nothing. there are heaps of videos showing the "rod" then showing the same footage in slow mo. just a moth, look it up. science wins
@hatecrewstudio wtf im not american im Australian. look for the discovery channel version, they slow them down with super slow mo cameras. they are no more than moths. they're wings flap at 120 beats per second but the videos recording only record at 60 fps or something. so the moths wings flap roughly twice for every frame of the video and makes it look like a long creature. just an optical illusion.
If a TV Camera films video at a rate of 30 frames per second & a bug, flaps its wings at a rate of 120 times per second, then on EVERY SINGLE frame of the video, the bug will have flapped its wings 4 times and traveled 4 times its true body length.
How come this is SO freaking hard to understand?
What is with this, "Something looks strange, it must be an alien" mentality?
yes people understand the above logic, its just that some of the videos have odd number wings eg. 3 pairs, no insect has ever had odd number wings the most is 2 pairs, so videos showing 3 each side would seem to make your logic void
IT'S AN INSECT THAT'S BEEN BLURRED BY THE CAMERA! It's length is caused by the slow frame capturing of the camera. If you use a high speed camera, you can clearly see insects. The spiral looking part of the "rod" is actually the insects wing, and due to the camera, it makes a sinusoidal wave. Do some research.
There's no such thing as that kind of creature, or atleast a real one has not been discovered yet. The first "rod" had 4 wings, the second around 8 wings, and the last one had six.
i think they do exist and one of the most conclusive proof was a pic of a rod flying out of a huricain. it was measuresed to be an estimate of 55 FEET and another rod clockered at 6700 mph and wat i dont get is why dont some 1 put a high speed camera and a normal video camra side by side and leav thhem recoreding for the longst period they can both reach without 1 stoping. if u see a rod on the normal camara and on the high speed camara you will become famous and be revierd by rod lovers

So then what your saying is this, it would be impossable to film an insect or anything else that flaps its wings at a particular speed because the mathmatics say that everytime you did it would distort the image you see and produce a rod effect, NTSC explained, now explain the PAL footage
This is cool, i saw a skyfish video from Moster Quest - Skyfish sound real, especially since they found one with 3 wings. Which proves it's not a camera effect.
3 wings? I can explain 3 wing like shapes on 1 frame of film.
If the film records 30 frames per second(29.95-NTSC-USA) Then if you have a bug that flaps its wings at 90 times per second, it will make a pattern that looks like 3 wings on a SINGLE frame.
Many, MANY insects fly at 90 flaps per second and even much faster. Bees can flap OVER 200 times per second.
I can prove every single frame of it with SIMPLE Math, Physics and Science.
Hummingbird Moths are 1-2 inches long by 3/4 inch wide They flap their wings 70 times per second. NTSC (USA) Video Cameras film at 29.95 FRAMES per second. So for EVERY frame on the video, you will have 2-1/2 flaps blurred with the distance 2-1/2 flaps take it, all on a single frame. The end result is a 5 inch "Rod" on every Frame.
hmmmm i am believer but it kinda reminds me of the flight characteristics of a flying lizard though to slow and also looks like swallows getting it on XD but in all seriousness HOLY SHIT!
