If you watch this movie keep this in mind: Just because he talks to people who don't know the answers to his questions, doesn't mean that he's right about anything that he says. He's asking man questions that only the Bible can answer... instead of asking people he should look for the answers himself. I know from scripture alot of the answers he asks that the people he asked can't tell him. I wonder how many people he asked who knew that he didn't include in the documentary.

The first half of the Bible (old testament) was written before Jesus was even born. And you should ask for answers. It's important to know what you are believing in. As to the intelligence of the men god used write the Bible: If it helps, the Bible has always been 1) ahead of it's time scientifically, and 2) has always been scientifically acurate. This itself should tell you that God wrote it not man, and that God is indeed more intelligent than man.

If you want to know more about science in the Bible, go to Google and type in "science in the Bible" the first link that comes up from that search should be one titled: Science and the Bible, and it should have "clarifyingchristianity" in the url address. That has many many examples of how the Bible is scientifically acurate. Just 1 example... when men still said the earth was flat, the Bible said it was rounded (or spherical). How could man know this unless God told him?

I'd love to answer his questions. And it's not a sin to ask questions, I'm pretty sure it's actually encouraged to do so in the Bible, but I'd have to look for the verse I'm thinking of. I'm pretty positive that there are hundreds of christians who could answer his questions, and he probably interviewed them but it wouldn't make for a good "crack" on religion if he videotaped good answers and put them in the film.

This is true lucread. There is no concept of 'Hell' in the Bible. It does speak of "sheol" which simply means the grave. Sheol is the common destination of both the righteous and the unrighteous dead, as recounted in Ecclesiastes and Job. The English word "hell" comes from Germanic mythology, and is now used in the Judeo-Christian sense to translate the Greek word Gehenna. Gehenna was the Hinnom valley outside of Jerusalem, a valley used for burning refuse. Xians should start reading the Bible .

Different translations of various words in the various versions of the bible do not denote an actual reference to such a thing, especially if such translations were made after Dante's work was written, itself (did that make any sense... I think I just confused myself, lol... long day at work).

KJV was translated before that I'm pretty sure. The newer translations always cut things out and edit and edit and edit until they no longer have the Word of God. They always change things and then Copyright their work because it's something they changed so mmuch it's then an "original" work. Notice that the KJV is not copyrighted by anyone. Read about how the KJV was translated... it's pretty cool.

No. All of Dante's work was written nearly 300 years before the KJV appeared. The KJV appeared in 1611.

I also wanted to say the translators translated words based on their context. Throughout the Bible there is reference to a tortourous waiting place called "hell." The concept of hell came directly from the Bible. Look in Isaiah 66:24 among other places to read about hell, also Luke 16:23. And the Bible was around long before Dante, even if the KJV was translated afterward the fact remains that the concept of hell is most definitely from the Bible.
