  • I SAY LET THEM PASS IT. WHY? BECAUSE REPUBLICANS CAN NO LONGER CLAIM TO BE THE PARTY OF LINCOLN OR CIVIL RIGHTS.

  • I understand Mr. Martin's motivations, I really do. I also believe that the issue of slavery was an important part of the civil war. However, as Mr. Bowling points out, there were many more issues. Roland Martin shows his ignorance by comparing Confederate soldiers to Nazis. The majority of people who lived in the south did not own slaves. My own family was far too poor. Domestic terrorists? Not quite. Yes, slavery was a part of the war. No, it was not the only part. It really is simple.

  • U gotta luv historical revisionism - it exposes so much about folk who know so little (smh).

  • that is BS that he calls everyone from the south and the confederacy a terrorist that guy needs to go back to africa

  • i guess Roland Martin doesent celebrate the 4th of july then beacuse when you think about it we were terrorists to the brittish and that celebrates the birth of a nation self governed from the brittish

  • You should be ashamed of your ancestors. Racists, slave owners and Traitors.

  • @slicingwater my ancestor was none of that he fought for his home and aganst an invader just like the minute men in the american in the revolution and he never owned slaves i looked it up and i know it

  • "we're seeing the same issues today that the confederacy fought for 150 years ago....smaller government, lower taxation, a less imperialistic government"

By smaller government, could Mr. Bowling have been referring to Lincoln's efforts to stop the expansion of slavery? All the reasoning for the succession seem to point to the south's economic malaise. But taking away slavery could only hurt the south's mostly agricultural economy. So slavery was a very important economic issue, not only social.

  • Why would anyone be proud of the civil war? As Mr. Brag Bowling clearly mentions, the United States was the only country to end slavery through war. Isn't that shameful? Can anyone be so ignorant as to think that the primary reason for the confederate army to rise was not slavery?

  • The only terrorist in my town are these young blacks who will shoot you at the drop of a hat. They are like animals & if you disagree come to South Atlanta, but you better bring a gun.

  • How were rebels terrorists? Terrorists attack civilian targets to further their goals. The South formally seceded. Martin calls them treasonous. Well...sure, I guess. The United States was treasonous against the Crown of England. The people of Egypt were treasonous against the Mubarak regime.

These are just emotionally charged words devoid of cool logic. Martin, a pundit I admire and agree with often, is obviously too emotionally invested to have a rational discussion on this issue.

  • @Lodine66 Why is Iraq and afghan viewed as you call a yankee war of imperialism? Those wars were decidied mainly by republicans which is the party Mcdonnel is from. And alot of southerner vote for consistently. Are you saying republicans were against those wars? And the US is a place on the map I dont think blacks as whole have a problem with a piece of land maybe some of the people on it.

  • @Lodine66 What wars of imperialism are you saying the south should let the yankees fight today? And why should blacks leave why not the whites leave and go some where else?

  • yelling and using racial emotionalism doesnt make it fact.

  • "The war was over worse things than slavery"..that statement is an insult to every black American, including myself, who is a descendent of Virginia slaves.

  • AC ... your a moron ... roland your a screeming moron

  • @MastroCicio

    "Your a moron."

    Rofl, you're the moron, idiot.

  • Roland's interpretation of the civil war is lacking some serious insight .. domestic terrorism

  • Roland's interpretation of the civil war is lacking some serious insight

  • Martin is stupid asshole

  • God save the South lol I`m all for the history also. Confederates should be able to celebrate because i happen to know the war was over worse things than slavery.

  • I`m all for confederate history month.

  • I love the South and i all for celebrating the Rebel flag and flying it. it`s all a part of History.

  • People some don`t know the North had slaves also. I`m all for the south and Ronald Martin is one dumb ass dude.He has no clue what he is talking about.

  • The war was NOT about slavery

  • @imaStonesFan : The organization of the rebellion had everything to do with the preservation of slavery. The war that began not by secession, but by the firing on a US installation in Charleston Harbor, Fort Sumter. This attack was an attempt to prove to the world that the slave aristocracy currently in rebellion was serious about creating a new nation. Unfortunately, the slave aristocracy forgot to ask the rest of us if it was ok to destroy this great nation. We would have said 'no'.

  • @imaStonesFan I guess that makes you an expert on Southern Literature, Southern Economics, Southern Industry and Southern Style of Government. Please describe to me the number of Species that live in the South since your such an expert. Explain to me why poor southern whites decided to fight in the civil war even though they would have benefited ultimately if the north decided to abolish slavery any way?

  • Comment removed

  • @slicingwater No i meant to type that it wasn't ONLY over slavery.

  • As far as Republican governors leaning to support confederate history month, and there are a few Southern Republican governors that do, and as far as this debate goes I only have one question to ask about this nations first Republican...What would Lincoln do?

  • @mike3940 Even after the slaves were free ,they still had No rights and the NORTH made damn sure they didn`t. Kennedy was the man who fought for their rights.

  • @imaStonesFan : Riiiiggt. It was all the Norths fault. The South had nothing to do with it...please. And besides, we're talking about respecting a rebellion that was the reason behind 600,000 American casualties. Oh ya, that's right, that was to North's fault too...[cough].

  • @mike3940 Yes It was the North fault. YES.

  • @imaStonesFan :Riiiggt.

  • Continued: That is, if he caught'm as a Union Officer. But that was just The General's story. That sort of thing was happening all over the South along with the spy network that was rooted as thick as concrete in the halls of justice and throughout the North, which if caught is...treason, or high treason even.

  • Continued: Treason you ask? Ya, treason. There were quite a few text book examples of governors of certain Southern states that were still on the sideboards before deciding to jump ship in which they ordered the commandeering of their local armories and arsenals, (see the governor of Louisiana prior to its secession). What he did was most certainly without question 'Treason'. General Sherman before leaving the Louisiana Military Academy upon saying goodbye to him told him that he'd hang'm.

  • Continued: But by staying with the actual truth of the matter, which is that the confederacy was formed for the expansion of the institution of slavery, puts into light what angered America so much that it chose to go to war, and hopefully we as a nation never come to grips with the brutal thought of separation again.

It was all about slavery. All of it.

  • Because Mr. Martin's stand on the Civil War is what it is, ISN'T the perfect reason for a Confederate History Month anywhere. It's a slap in the face to all descendants of families who were forced into bondage for family generations and who have really lost their historical record because of their forced ignorance from reading and writing.

To say that there are more important reasons for committing treason leaves on the table in todays society a reason to do it again...

  • Not all slave states stayed in the Union, but all states the joined in rebellion were 'slave states'.

  • Brag claims that the confederate veteran has served in the US military since the Civil War as a Southerner. I hope he's wrong about that, not because of the contribution our Southern brethren has served, but I hope and pray that they are serving as AMERICANS of the United States...not the confederacy.

We had as Union soldiers white regiments from every single state of the rebellion, and the ONLY state that didn't contribute to the Union was South Carolina, but she had plenty of black troops.

  • Continued: she left to protect the institutions of the slave aristocracy who controlled everything Southern. They were the Generals, they were the US politicians, they were the contributors to local economies and eventually became the politicians of the confederacy. That's truly, what it was all about, and if you can't come to terms with that than you're not being truthful with yourselves or anyone else you're arguing with.

  • Slavery had everything to do with the forming and execution of the confederate movement against the Union including Virginia. Although their excuse was to leave when Lincoln called for 75,000 troops to settle the rebellion after the bombing of Forth Sumter, the rebellion had already amassed a force of 100,000 men all the while the Union regulars were only a force in approximation of 18,000. Virginia may have stated her reasons for leaving was to protect her Southern brethren...

  • Continued: Although Lincoln's platform was based on ending all expansion of slavery, in addition he strongly stated that he had 'No Constitutional Right to end slavery in states where it already existed'. With that, border states that stayed with the Union stayed trusting that their institutions were safe.

  • Continued: Although Texas was admitted peacefully as a slave state after the Wilmot Proviso was rejected, which called for all newly admitted states of the Union to be free, Texas became a slave state. The craziness all began in the Kansas territory. That's were it all got physical which prompted Attorney Abraham Lincoln to run for president in which his ONLY defining difference to his opponents was ending all expansion of slavery in any new territory. With Lincoln expansion was over.

  • Roland Martin's view of events that happened in the 1850's and 60's are inline with the historical record. Slavery was the most significant reason for secession. Why? Why would slavery be the most significant reason for secession if there were slave states that remained in the union?...To answer you have to go back to the admittance of Texas into the Union. That's were it all began. It was over the fight to make a particular newly admitted state free or slave.

  • You can dress it up, dance around it ,spin it!!!!!That's all they do.Do you want a al qaeda to have a holiday too?

  • @garytamiko Gary.. youre a fool.... And as a southerner and a war veteran, I would like to inform you( since nobody has seemed to have yet) that the war was instigated by the north, by imposing outrageous tariffs on southern aggriculture. Btw the largest slave holder was a free black man who owned the charleston plantation in south carolina. Only 10% of white southerners owned slaves. And the southern blacks fought alongside whites, but see if they northern whites would fight alongside theirs...

  • This black man personifies ignorance. The fact of the matter is South Carolina dissolved their ties to the federal government because of unfair taxation; state rights; we the American people did the same thing to the crown in 1776. We committed treason . It is totally preposterous to equate Nazi soldiers to Confederate soldiers, where does history say the the ANV committed atrocities or war crimes, if anything Lincoln and Sherman should have been hung as war criminals. It is people like him.

  • Roland Martin does NOT know his History at all; South Carolina had the most slaves and Massachusets legalized slavery first what an idiot!!

  • @redskins1111 he just thinks virginia did because we had the first colony

  • i know i am i am just pointing out that one of the well known faces of confederate history and that one of the well known faces of the union army was a slave owner. some people don't know history and they speak out without knowing the facts

  • @landometc confederate faces didn't have slaves*

  • It is outrageous that he basically said that Southerners are more patriotic than the rest of America.

  • @landometc Robert E. Lee considered himself a Virginian before an American and that he couldn't bare fighting against his family and his state.

He didn't want all of this to happen, but he wanted to protect his home.

  • This should end now..If the confederates have a month, then the black panthers will have a month also. It should all stop. Its stupid, its ignorant, and it doesn't do any one white or black any good. I want to know that America is leading into a world where you keep your bigotry hidden, and everyone eats.

  • @972trev there's only like 13 guys in the black panthers come down to earth lol

the confedates racism was big like the nazis an very much like the nazis its not

the same as 13 black guys in a small group we never were at war with 13 black guys

in a group but did go to war with the confederaters

  • This dud says they were domestic terrorists and they commited treason.. by that standard he should equally hate GEORGE WASHINGTON, THOMAS JEFFERSON, and any of our founding fathers or any one who supported the founding of the USA... they took up arms and seceded ( OVER TAXATION just like the CSA DID) AS DID THE CSA

  • ROLAND MARTIN IS AN ASSHOLE!

  • I say let them do it because this is what republicans stand on. They need to be more open on how they feel. So the next time they try to claim they are for civil rights we know its not true because they go pull this stuff. We need to expose how republicans truly feel in modern day America.

  • Dear IsDaMicOn78,

Those confederate soldiers were not just fighting for what they believed in (which the united states and us as its people preach every day in and day out "fight/ stand up for what you believe in") but they were also AMERICAN BORN SOLDIERS... show some respect for american soldiers.

    THANK YOU AND FUCK YOU

  • Typical revisionist white idiocy. Fuck a confederate soldier! If I knew where they was buried I'd piss on each grave.

  • black people get a month for all the things the contributed like ice cream scoopers and blue jeans and.. and.. shit lol

  • Fuck that black man, he doesnt like it OH WELL! we will we WILL be having a confederate history month. its NOT ABOUT SLAVERY! it was about indifferences. And fuck what that man says just like the comments below you have a damn black history month a DAMN black pressident and damn martin luther king day. etc. All that man has to say is that "slavery" this "Slavery that" he can fuck off.

  • You got your martin luther coon day, black history month , all black tv channels, and a nigger president so, shut the fuck ! If you don't like it there's a plane leaving for africa twice a day ! Get on it .

  • african chiefs sold thier own into slavery to the white man ! LOL DUMB ASSES

  • The civil war wasn't based around slavery... But he's right about how we should't celebrate the people who beat and tortured innocent African Americans

  • @TheLegitMEOW The Union beat and tortured innocent African Americans too. When the Civil War first started, slavery was still legal in the Union.

  • The Civil War wasn't based around slavery, idiot.

  • slavery wasnt the only reason for civil war, it seems be only thing people remember bout the war but its not. Alot of politics lead up to war. Terrorist if people always thought that for standing up for your rights almost no one would be in this country besides native americans which is who really found america. How about this everyone live your own life and try not tellin others how to live theres for a change. Change now that sounds good not the same old stuff in repeat.

  • Wrong, Roland. The first state to leaglize slavery was Massuchettes NOT Virginia. Confederate soldiers were not fighting simply to enslave people. They were victims of their time. Why doesn't Roland have a problem with Union states that had slavery, i.e Delaware, Maryland during the war between the states? Stop linking a moment to oppose big gov't to Nazism- gov't control over your life.

  • @kevyster my great state of Maryland wanted to succeed from the Union as well; we also celebrate Confederate History Month as well; problem is you have Yankees like Anderson Cooper wrecking my state!!

  • Yeah? If we were with Racist and Terrorism then why where France and Britain about to help and they were Strongly Abolishers against Slavery.

  • Roland Martin is freaking stupid LONG LIVE DIXIE AND OUR HERITAGE OUR

FLAG IS NOT GOING DOWN !!

  • Wow that black guy is so strupid, Terrorism

?the confederates did to the union what they did to england left a goverment

    and formed a new one.

  • for those so quick to call roland racist, why are u so angry, when it's clear you're missing the main point of the argument.

  • black history is for history in America that is not mainstream, history that is omitted. that is the issue not the core issues of the civil war. the argument is that u cannot take out what u think is unimportant in history u have to report it all.

and u cannot say that slavery wasn't a major divisive issue among the arguments of the civil war. the idea that a group of ppl are 3/5 of a person is deplorable and it was a comment held view down south...so celebrating that, i don't see the point.

  • @aaronite03 its absurd and just another example of how the country is backwards and regressive. proud "confederates" -or w/e they call themselves, can try and say the "its not about slavery" and their "right" to be lazy asses exploiting africans, but it IS. no matter how its spun.

ive even heard them invoke how the civil war was about "unfair taxes" (a popular word to throw around these days now that americans have to pay the bills and dont want to). those taxes were on slaves.

    nothin to honor

  • Roland is such a dumbass!!

READ A REAL HISTORY BOOK ON THE CIVIL WAR!!

Confederates soldiers were far from terrorists, they technically were allowed to secede BECAUSE the Constitution never said they couldn't until around 1869 by the Supreme Court.

Btw, Virginia wasn't the first state to legalize slavery...Massachusetts was.

I agree with Brag Bowling 100% on why we should, not for slavery, but to educate people on the real causes for the war.

    -Just my opinion-

  • Republicans now are calling black people racists.

Thats like the nazis calling the jews muderers.

    It's offensive.

  • Roland Martin is nothing but a racist and uses slavery and race for everything! He was not a slave, and we were not slave owners, so shut the F*ck up! He is an Idiot!!

  • im from virginia and im proud of my southern heritage and i dont agree with slavery but im happy to see confederate history month i mean we have a black history month and dont feel like hearing about all the african americans who really werent that important to history but im respectful to them unlike that roland

  • Roland Martin is a complete idiot. The Civil War was not about slavery, in fact slavery had nothing to do with the war. What a complete moron. It was about the states governing themselves vs being overseen by a national government. Slavey was a small part and if it was the only issue the war would not have occured.

  • Roland, college football does not need a playoff that will pimp-out college athletes for big business and betting more than they are already. The bowls are an important part of American end-of-year athletic culture.

Also, the NAACP is as racist in theory as Virginia adopting a "Confederate History Month." When the NAACP devotes itself to the betterment of struggling people from all races, then the NAACP will no longer be a racist organization.

    FREE SPEECH FOR THE DUMB!!!

  • John Noland was a free black man in Missouri. Which side did he and several other blacks that rode with him pick? Hint; they weren't wearing blue.

Gotta keep the victim racket going, so it has to be all about slavery.

I wonder what history professor Roland Martin thinks about German Army regulars...I bet they were "Nazis." Typical dumbass stuck on black.

  • I have an idea Rolond (shit hole) Martin? Let's celebrate Africa and Africans who participated in the slave trade for the same greedy reasons you call Southern Americans Nazis! Zieg Hiel Bitch!

  • @Nappitude21 Glad you are amuzed genius.

  • Roland Martin is an idiot. Idiot, idiot, idiot. The Southern states were, by and large, pro-slavery. Not all Southern states were part of the Confederacy. CASE & POINT: The Emancipation Proclamation only applied to the "rebel states". It didn't mess with slavery in Missouri, Maryland, West Virginia & Delaware. Slavery was AN issue. It was not THE issue which divided the Union from the Confederacy.

  • @gunsandbullhorns hahah i love it when a white person gets intimidated by a strong black man...like a breeze in the hat sun..feels soo goooddd

  • @Nappitude21

Is that what you call a "strong black man"? Roland Martin? Seriously?

I'm not "intimidated" by him. I'm frustrated by the slant. I think I made myself quite clear — Slavery was AN issue, but it was not THE dividing issue between the Union and the Confederacy. It's a mistake to frame the Confederate secession and the subsequent war in terms of slavery. It's as intellectually bankrupt as framing World War II in terms of the Jewish holocaust. D'you get what I'm saying?

  • @gunsandbullhorns i expect a comment like that from a white supremacist like yourself..what is new...

  • @Nappitude21

I don't know what I ever said that would make somebody think I'm a white supremacist. If you wanna' explain it to me, then go ahead. If you don't feel like it, then I'm not gonna' lose any sleep over it.

Maybe YOU are a White Supremacist.

  • "He who controls the future controls the present. And he who controls the present controls the past." ~1984

  • Who moved my cheese? That is the question.

  • Hey Roland Martin! Every 4th of July this country celebrates treason by remembering 13 slave holding colonies/states that rebelled against England. DumbASS!

  • @ke4bss did you know that there were only 3 slave holding states at that time

  • @mashack12 Not so, All the original states were slave states with the exception of Vermont.

  • @ke4bss yes he's the dumbass, while Bob McDonnell tries to downplay slavery as a cause for the civil war. Are you kidding me?!?!?!?

  • @bignastypsi You might be kidding yourself genius.

  • @ke4bss never claimed to be a genius, but unlike that governor, bowling, and yourself I'm not an idiot. Slavery was the main cause of that war period. To celebrate a group of people that fought to keep another group of people as property is absurd.

  • @bignastypsi There is a difference between Civil War and Civil Rights. Don't confuse the two.

  • @ke4bss Which comment are you referring to?

  • These people need to grow up. only 6% of the people of the south had slaves at that time. i am so tired of blacks clinging on to slavery. get over it.

  • This black guy is ignorant and stupid as to the Jeffersonian struggle of the South against an evolving, proto-Imperial North (i.e. today's Iraq and Afghanistan quagmire). Indeed, a supreme simpleton without control of his emotions.

  • and call me a terrorist one more time...

  • slavery the dominant reason? only 2% of southerners had slaves

  • @15marinecorps actually 6% owned slaves but yes I agree. The Civil War was primary NOT about slavery. It was about economic issues.

  • @dog3croom well you know what i mean, 6 percent really isnt that much, and yea its about that and states rights and the fed. gov. gaining to much power

  • @dog3croom Slavery is an economic issue. Having free labor effects the economy.

  • Comment removed

  • @15marinecorps Enough with this bullshit about 2 or 6 % only being slave owners! Next time someone is going to say only 2 or 3 guys owned a few slaves in the Southern US ! Prof. Clyde Wilson of the University of South Carolina says that counting families, about a quarter of white Southerners were slave owners and he is extremely pro-South and pro-Confederacy. You shouldn`t be ashamed of your ancestors, anymore than we are of ours in Romania, because it existed in all societies and at all times.

  • Roland (asshole) Martin in another video says he is from Texas, which also celebrates Confederate History Month of its own. Wonder why he didn't mention that, since he is so opposed to the idea.

  • Comment removed

  • Mr.Martin is ignoring the facts.

  • The Civil War was NOT started over slavery. It was started over state's rights. Slavery just happened to be that right that was fought over (more fought over to preserve a way of life, or agriculture, not because they hated black people). The black guy is an ignorant fool.

"I don't celebrate terrorists" is stupid.... because we all do. The founding fathers were technically treasonous terrorists. Just saying.

  • Roland Martin is a long legged mack daddy!

  • Makes a lot of ignorants mad when an Afro American has the microphone.

Jesus Power.........Forever...................Christians Unite........We Win in the End.

  • @capcity8000 Makes NO difference if he is "Afro American" or not. Pastor David Manning and H. K. Edgerton are also "Afro American" but have a very different opinion on the flag and Confederate History. I especially agree with Pasto Manning myself. He has a clip here on Youtube....check it out for yourself.

  • @ke4bss I don't see any clip, but i take it you're saying that Mannings view is different. That is possible, however, Ignorant folk are mad when any Black Man has a microphone and speaks his opinion. It doesn't matter what the issue. There are black folk who hate when another black person give his opinion as though we all are supposed to think the same thing because we are black. This is where i am coming from and it is truth rather anyone black or white want to admit that.

  • @capcity8000 Here on youtube search: David Manning Confederate. His two part video is entitled Confederate History Month. It also was the first two videos to come up when I searched.

  • @capcity8000 The battle with illiteracy? Let`s hope so!

  • Roland Martin shows and proves his Stupidity by saying the All Virginia Presidents were slave owners......Woodrow Wilson was NOT a slave owner Roland Dumbfuck Martin.!

  • roland martin is talking facts and the other guy is just talking and dancing around the subject. why does these confederate clowns always dance around facts. secession was because of slavery. the war was not totally about slavery but if someone says slavery was not a primary issue they are a moron.

  • @getyoasshome Roland Martin talks and practices what He really is.....Human Shit.

  • @ke4bss what did roland say that was false?

  • @getyoasshome You see my friend that Slavery had to be the cause of the war becuase that gives the slaves and their ancestors (like this Fuck Face Roland Martin) some avenue into the subject. In reality, Slavery was a tool used by both sides for their political advantage.

  • @ke4bss uh huh the bottom line is roland is telling the truth and this other guy is just "talking"

  • When states rights were destroyed, the United States was destroyed. All of the problems with the debt and foreign wars and the federal reserve are to do with the omnipotence of the federal government. The founding fathers knew it was important to limit the power of the federal government - Lincoln usurped powers for the federal government, and the feds have been grabbing more scope and power ever since. Our country is crumbling - the Civil War cracked our foundation.

  • The secession of the south was over the same reason for the war of Independence! Taxation without representation! I propose this one question to anyone "ignorant" enough to think this war started over slavery. Do you actually think that poor southern white men, who did not own slaves, would actually fight in a war for their rich neighbors slaves? Rich men create wars, and poor men fight them! No, they fought because their "national" government passed law's without their input! Period.

  • Crackers make me sick to my stomach! I do not promote hate.

  • It`s bizzarre and disgusting though that a lot of americans thought and still do think that high tarrifs on imported goods, states rights which weren`t really threatened and other economic and political issues of that sort were wort tearing the country part and killing 600 000 or more americans( overwhelmingly white americans). Yes very noble, conservative, patriotic and reasonable you proud southerners.:(

  • @NOSFERATU904 Yes, you are quite correct from a Yankee point of view. But, as in any squabble there are 2 sides to the story. Just because You choose to ignore one side of the issue/cause of the war does not make you corrcet. Your Yankee side fougth to Free the slaves then save the Union. One in the same to You. But, the South fought for Independence from a so called Union of States that was largely based on money.

  • @ke4bss Yankee money was also based on Slavery but slanted on the distant industrial side not the more common labor intensive agricultural side of the issue. The issue of slavery had it's place but, the more encompassing issue was Union itself. Something, that at the time, even flag waving Yankees questioned. I think you viewpoint is clouded by politics both past and present. Sometimes it's much easier to think outside the box, rather than IN it.!

  • @ke4bss I am not American and as far as I know Yankee money was only in part based on the long deceased slave trade and more indirectly on using southern cotton in the garment industry I suppose. But please do explain why the South wanted independence so bad and was willing to cause the death o hundred of thousands of Americans for it. As far as I know back then most americans in both regions were protestants of british descent and that mattered a whole lot in an age of ethnic nationalism.

  • Were the american revolutionaries terrorists and traitors to the british empire? Why not, according to the black fat man and his ideas.

  • Georgia had the majority number of slaves you dumb ass.

  • I know of 31 idiots in the world (those that gave thumbs up). 32 idiots because you have to of include Roland Martin in with those puritan crack pipes. Mr. Martin is NO different than white supremacists for he is proud of his race. His view on history is as stupid as a klansmans'. For both either hates or loves the CS battle flag based on the same historical myth. The CSA neither seceded for or defended slavery or racism.

  • that black guy is dumb!!

  • Roland Martin is a uncle tom bitch

  • It's a shame when in the United States of America a Southern state cannot celebrate Confederate History Month. It is Virginia, they fought the US, they have every right to celebrate it! It's their own damn history!

  • fuck evrybody there and in online fuck them all period.

  • Fuck You Roland Martin! Fuck YOU!

  • Martin is such a dumbfuck. Maybe he should read his history. he is just another ignorant prick. Confederate soldiers are not terrorists, they are heros of our history. Maybe if he realized Abraham Licoln was a white supremacist and didnt want to end slavery then he would realize that it WASNT slavery. The states didnt secede until The Morril Tarriff was to pass and destroy the southern economy. Northerners pretty much enslaved the irish, they wouldnt even use blacks to do the work irish did

  • addin more cuz you were sayin virginia was teh 1st to legalize no. your wrong SC was again they had the most your wrong again that'd be ALAfuckinBAMA!

  • SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT that guy the black one shut up! i hope you see that dumb fuck do some reaserch on your history add me as a friend lets see how much you know bout the black panthers and them wantin to kill all the white people

but your right south did have slaves but so did the north and i was born in SOUTH CAROLINA loris too look that up go there that is one black town not bein racist but makin a point they have lifted truck with the rebel flag so do some damn research go to my town

  • @1892dude The "New Black Panthers", which are actually disliked by former Black Panthers, said that. Conservative pundits have been dishonestly talking about that because they know people kinda slow like yourself will interpret it as being the actual Black Panthers.

The North did not have slaves when the South broke away from the Union - how in the world could you not know this? The Confederacy would have continued having slaves as well had the North not gone to war with them.

  • @BenkaiDebussy why the fuck are you callin me slow i dont give a damn about the panther i think its funny they said they wanted all the white people dead and there babies imma be damned if they get near me and damnit i did my research about the south shit im 16 i love the south and i read both sides and now i love the south even more and the south left because of taxes and economy shit not slaves AMERICA still had slaves too same with mr licoln so dont bitch to me sayin you know bout the south

  • @BenkaiDebussy Haven`t you heard of the 5 border states which still had slavery and stayed in the Union? They were: Missouri. Kentucky,Maryland, West Virginia and Delaware. I guess three of them are southern but they fought on the Union side, Maryland may be called southern or northern but delaware was and is as northern as you can get. And remember ulysses grant had slaves and real estate in Missouri. So who is slow bud? Fuck those hate filled, illiterate, gun toating black panther scumbags!

  • Ask him about black panters and i bet he could find a reason to justify that! Nazis?muslims?this guy throws any easy answer he can find. Someone should tell this guy, the confederacy never surrendered.Taxes, lack of respect for public opinion, lack of accountability, disrespect to it's veterans, huge govt., and lack of Fkin backbone is all i see anymore from our fearless leaders. Free the south!

  • @sadbutfunny1 thats right he'd be swipin the race card

  • you know whats really fucking hilariouse? the fact that liberals such as mr. martin are fucking stupid mexicans in arizona and california fly the mexican flag but they never mention there "treason" demestic terriorists. fucking stupid liberals this is just one of the most iggnortant B/S arguements ever

  • if he doesnt support confederate month i dont support nigger month!

  • i agree. civil war had nothing to do with slavery. none whatsoever.

It had to do with southern heritage, liberty, and freedom.

freedom to exercise the right to colonize mars and build dildo plantations. Abraham linocln opposed this proposition because it would undermine and marginalize the northen didlo and pleasure items industrial base.

It was about didlos and money. too bad that the liberal schools dont teach the true facts.

  • PLease Google The Ghost Amendment. The US goverment handed slavery to the South on a platter and EVERY Southern State completly rejected it. The South committed Treason? The Southern states "Seceeded" from the UNion. Withouit fireing a shot if I might add. Mr. Lincoln called for 75 thousand troops to invade the South. Thus..the South defended itself. This Black guy is spouting off

    a lot of untrue statements.

  • So let me see if I have this right... Black history month is okay cause we praise Martin Luther King who's real name is Michael who was also a plagorist and a comunist. But it's not okay to celebrate a part of southern history which has been lied upon for 150 years

  • @mace62486 In case you are interested what is now Martin Luther King day was originally Lee and Jackson Day. Remembering and honoring the memory of Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. Jackson (Stonewall). After the civil rights era black people wanted their hero MLK honored so the holiday became Lee, Jackson and King day. After a short period of time, Lee and Jackson are fogotten and it's now Martin Luther King Day. I always honor the original holiday.

  • 500,000 free black men in the south was free before the war 60,000 in the state of virginia alone but of course he wouldnt know that he didnt read a history book lol

  • The states had the right to succeed and Lincoln did not want them too. When Davis used that defence at the supreme courtafter the war they decided to just drop the treason charge; as to oblige davis's argument would essentially make Lincoln look like he was wrong over the whole affair. Years later one of the justices said the states did have the right to succeed.

Martin just proves you dont need to be on Msnbc or Fox to be an idiotic pundit. Hes there for his style more than his intellegence

  • I guess Roland thinks George Washington was a terrorist.. Please Roland give a clear and concise definition of terrorist.. bc the razing cities to the ground was not terrorism was it?
