  • There might never have been Metallica, if it weren't for Diamond Head! They were very heavily influenced by them!

  • I have seen diamond head about 3 times at the Brunel rooms in Swindon originally they supported Iron Maiden then done a few gigs on their own. At the time it was a poor mans Led Zep but we all enjoyed them they had some good ideas. Good to know other bands are making a sucess of their songs ie Metallica

  • oh man ive never watched any of there videos.the lead singer looks gay as hell.still love this band

  • Sean Harris has a legendary voice !

  • YEAH! this LP was also at the top of my list. I liked the follow up LP but it didnt have the same effect... this is a tremendous song, it really is...

  • The Borrowed Time album was an incredible collection of songs, up there in my top 20 records of all time. Such a pity Shaun Harris was so pretentious or this band could (and should) have been huge.

  • Strange that a band like this is so poorly known ....

  • It's funny to look back now and notice the blouse and HUGE camel toe when at the time is was completely normal and unremarkable. Whatever. Awesome band. I love this song.

  • I did love songs like "It's Electric",so this 2nd album was a bit too restrained to my younger taste, but year by year, getting older and older, this talks to my heart deeper and deeper.

  • the singer sounds like phil moog from ufo

  • Hey Weissheim, how can I get all these videos on DVD, is there an official release of all these, I want them desperately!!! Can you help? Thanks

  • Does anyone know if this song is about Elric of Melnibone?

PS- Sean, you're a total slut, bless you!

    DH 4 ever

  • @ultragashinferno Yes. It's the Michael Moorcock Black Blade

  • Sean Harris sorta reminds me of Sasha Jenson from Dazed and Confused and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

  • @IsolationInstigation

Dude, when I first watched In The Heat Of The Night, I paused the video and pulled up a picture of Sasha Jenson from a stillshot of Dazed And Confused in another tab and looked at both pictures. They look identical. I pointed this out to my friends and they laughed about it. I'm glad someone else thinks this.

  • My favourite song of the era. Bought their first two albums when they came out. At the time though we used to call them the HM band with the crappiest name of all. Now I wonder if this was part of their lack of success.

  • Guys

    Forget the gay stuff.

This type of dressing was considered cool at the time. Not just Led Zeppelin, check out UFO and the "hair bands".

  • wow, theat lead singer has a massive cameltoe...

  • what happened to this band

  • anbody noticed how the lead singer looks like prez hilton...good band tho... got my big4 dvd other day saw them covering am i evile? so said check em out.

  • Pure class

  • most of the metalheads of the 1980s were elitist pricks. there were people who just enjoyed the music. while others walked around in their denim and leather, tight pants, with a snobbish sense of entitlement. no better than the scene kids of today.

  • Classics like this never get old.

  • I don't know wtf nobody ever listened to diamond head... they are one of the best heavy metal bands ever... also this song is a hymn!

  • My balls hurt, when i look to those tight trousers..

  • no, he's just trying to imitate Robert Plant from Zeppelin, most musicians from 70's dressed like this, even gayer, it was the whole free love, have sex all the time vib. It's too bad gays have ruined this look for the rest of us, for girls loved tight jeans on men once. Then aids came out and ruined all the fun.

  • @SteveBurk Right. This look was considered super hot in the 70's. Robert Plant definitely with a little Morrison and glam era Jagger thrown into the mix. It was a different aesthetic in those days. Trust me, back in the day plenty of gals would have thought this dude (Sean Harris) was dead sexy.

  • i have to ask....is the lead singer homosexual? i mean his hand jesters and outfit suggest he is...i mean id be fine if he was, but i really wanna know. it was even more apparent in am i evil

  • "living (hipthrust) on borrowed time." hahaha! great song though.

  • I wished they had utube back in 82

  • @kisspeter64 If they had maybe Diamond Head would be megastars instead of Metallica ... lol

  • @Umlatta Yes, Diamond Head never got their lucky break

  • Sean reminds me of Phil Moog.

  • If you read Lars' comments about the early pre-metallica days growing up listening to NWOBHM, it was obvious that on-one else in the US had heard any of this stuff. Hollywood have done this, too (Star Trek / Star wars rip early Dr Who - Darth Vader is just a Dr Who Ice Warrior!)

  • @msmyth115 they didn't "rip" or copy doctor who and even if they did if nobody copied anybody you wouldn't be alive right now

  • Metallica really ripped DH thats for sure!!!

  • yeah diamond head one of founding members of heavy metal and thrash metal

  • @MrDeath545 They are not trash, they where big influentes of a big trash/heavy metal band; Metallica. But they where never trash.

  • @Sthlmprog

    well said man!!

  • @Lillihen17 Girl*

  • great, what more can i say?

  • wheres duncan and colin now? Rhythm section of the best line up!

  • i saw DH a lifetime ago in Brussel....they where great!! A shame they

could have been a great super band...what happend?

  • the lead singer is dressed like a girl :P the fashion back then was wierd

  • @Infernal01 the fashion was awesome!

  • @Infernal01 you proble dress weirder than him so shut up

  • @hoikevinhoi i just said the fashion was wierd, you shut up, and learn english, you jerk

  • @Infernal01 haha, yeah i had to chuckle at sean a little bit too. amazing fuckin voice though, shit, with a voice like that, ya could hang a dead cat off yer package and i wouldnt care.

  • penis time

  • at the begining its a led zep rip of very clear i think from something like the song remains the same or rain song i dont rember so well

  • No, it sounds nothing like either of those songs

  • The first word he sang, "love," immediately made me think of Robert Plant.

  • This is a complex DH song! But after a few turns it gets in yer head! Nice practise for the holy Canterbury album!

  • yea! classic heavy metal fans!

  • The lead singer reminds me of Freddie Mercury in his early days, awesome song by the way

  • Ahh yes, the reason I started wearing those rolled headbands... love this band, I played Borrowed Time to death when I was a teenager. Still moves me now :-)

  • haha!!! love this song, but at 2:59 it looks like sean harris would get kicked from colin kimberley!

  • ...love them...and this song...it's...i haven't words to describe it...

  • The best song of this group

  • live and recorded at the same time why do you not hear alot of ppl cheering

  • @Periah03 Because that's the way video clips where made back in the days. No super productions, no special effects, no shit. Just the band performing the song. See the old Iron Maiden clips and you will see they use to do the same way...

  • This sounds like it is recorded, not live, what do you think?

  • It's a promo video....

  • Ok, I can that, now, thanks!

  • From 1:28 to 1:41, the riff sounds like Orion/Ride The Lightning. A few months ago, that donned on me that Orion and RTL are kind of similar. And hearing it here, it makes me wonder that even more, because I know that Metallica were heavily influenced by Diamond Head in the beginning, what do you all think?

  • yea like mercyful fate corpse with a soul sounds like hit the lights

  • Yeah, wait a minute, I think you're right, lol!

  • I living stolen time

  • lol!

  • IM LIVING BORROWED TIME!!!

  • hey dumbass. thats they they dressed in the 80's

  • Diamond head rules....

  • i know. sucks huh

  • no dude in the 80''s alot of people wore some crazy stuff and are neck high in chicks but that was then

  • I think that he got a lot from Robert Plant, consider moves, those tight t-shirts and trousers. DH also admited that they want to continue Zeppelin style and were some sort of inheritance of their music. Yes it looks gay, but music is still amazing.

  • yea its not the looks its the music and nice point with robert plant

  • @Vergiliusz666 I concur! I instantly thought of Led Zeplin when I saw live footage for the first time. I honestly haven't listened to these guys much, but I definitely dig it.

  • @Vergiliusz666 Who didn't back in those days? Robert Plant was very scarily sexual in those days hahahahaha. NWOBHM, nothing like it! \m/ \m/

  • @Vergiliusz666 yes i noticed that on the am i evil? promo

  • @Vergiliusz666 Chicks dig it and the music...so cool! Love it!

  • @Vergiliusz666 -- anyone that is as sexy as that man, never looks gay. he wouldnt even look gay in a dress and pig tails. he is fucking hot no matter what! :D its edgy. roar!

  • So Sean Harris is wearing that who cares, Brian Tatler wore that same shirt too.

  • man...you can definately see dave mustaine got influenced by diamond head. two fucking awesome bands no doubt about that

  • sean harris is diamond head!!

  • sean harris where are you?????????????

  • Best band of this era by a mile. Their best line up as well, whatever happened to colin and duncan? Hope they did good!

  • in one year. lightning to the nations will become 30 years old

  • Diamond Head incredible, RULES!

    Sean Harris - Amazing vocalist

Brian Tatler - Amazing guitar player

And Duncan Scott is an amazing drummer!!!

  • Man love how you totally left out the bass player how mean.

  • Brain Tatler is amazing on that guitar.

  • Was Harris supposed to have some gay tendency? :-D

  • thats what i'm thinking.

  • sean harris

    is

    not

    gay

  • A KILLER SONG

    I LOOOOOOVE IT

  • such a brilliant song

  • This is lip synched

  • Yes, it's a promo video.

  • What is sean harris doing now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I first heard this song one friday night on the Tommy Vance show on radio 1 on some shitty tranny radio - it was just superb - absolutely fucking brillient. I can't really image DH without SH's voice.

  • aint youtube fooking brilliant for finding stuff like this, saw DH in I think??? '81 in Stoke, hardly anyone there but they were brilliant on the night, got me a signed white albulm from that gig as well..... all the miming on the videos is from the demo albulm

  • Great bass line at the beginning.

  • My vinyl copy is nearly worn out.

  • Diamond Head at it's best.

    Harris voice is amazin'.

'I'm livin' on borrowed time' rock on, classic!

  • This is one of the best songs from the album Borrowed Time. I own it on vinyl LP and though i have heard it a thousand times i am still not tired of it!

  • god I loved this band. especially this song. thanks Sean where ever you are!!
