I think this Church was planning to come to Canada to picket a funeral in Winnipeg. They changed their mind because the people in Winnipeg were going to counter protest big time to show support for the guy who was brutally murdered by a mantally deranged man. The perfect thing to do would be for all the metal fans at the funeral to surround the WBC folks, not say a word, just stare them down and surround them to shield the actual funeral procession etc. from having to see them. The police require them to be a sufficient distance away from an event they're protesting, so it's not like they'll be interrupting anything. Nice video. Very informative, and makes total sense. I myself won't be able to attend the memorial service, even if it is a 2-hour-drive from my house. I'll have my hands tied up that day, unfortunately. But for those that are going, do yourselves a favor. Listen to the man in this video. I think this Church was planning to come to Canada to picket a funeral in Winnipeg. They changed their mind because the people in Winnipeg were going to counter protest big time to show support for the guy who was brutally murdered by a mantally deranged man. Excellent statement. I'm glad that things went well at the memorial service and that, as stated, nothing made national headlines. It's quite ironic how a lot of metal fans are perceived by the masses as being angry people, but there were no violent acts against the WBC at the service. I just hope in the future people will heed your advice and just learn to ignore these people and maybe they'll just diminish entirely. I'm sure Ronnie would have been proud. :)

The funeral went without incident. As predicted, the WBC was not permitted close to the service, and thankfully, the thousands of metal heads were respectful... the end result? It didn't make national headlines. WBC was ignored. They wasted money and time. This is a victory for metal. May Dio RIP.

The perfect thing to do would be for all the metal fans at the funeral to surround the WBC folks, not say a word, just stare them down and surround them to shield the actual funeral procession etc. from having to see them. The police require them to be a sufficient distance away from an event they're protesting, so it's not like they'll be interrupting anything. It's easy to be a "bad ass" in a YouTube comment, but following through on your threats to kill them, burn down their church, etc. is a whole other thing. They apparently spend somewhere in the range of US$200,000 a year on flights around the US to picket and protest funerals and the like - where does this money come from?.

Nice video. Very informative, and makes total sense. I myself won't be able to attend the memorial service, even if it is a 2-hour-drive from my house. I'll have my hands tied up that day, unfortunately. But for those that are going, do yourselves a favor. Listen to the man in this video. Although most of us fans would like nothing more than to confront the WBC, we'd just end up like putty in their hands. Because the WBC feeds off of our hate for them. My thoughts exactly. What you just explained was far more Christian than anything Westboro do. They could be taught a good lesson about their own religion by those for whom they profess hate. Their own Jesus promoted tolerance, to turn the other cheek, to love your neighbour, and so on. Do they really think their God would be proud of them for the way they behave?

@lknkprkninflamesbest yep I'd say your assessment of them being a "hate committee is accurate because I'm sure there are a lot of church goers don't mind homosexuality seeing how we're all born with free will. And I may be naive for saying this, but them protesting homosexuality and different beliefs they make it look like the statement of God allowing free will was a lie. And last I checked, God doesn't lie.

@lknkprkninflamesbest When I was a theist, I tried to excuse their actions to help the image of MY religion but they are being true to their religion (maybe not about Jesus' teachings) and that's one of the reasons I quit religion altogether. Besides atheistic "religions" like Buddhism, religion is about hating the others in fear of them being right or having power to destroy you. Anyways, enough yaking.

You are 100% right! And I totally agree w/everything you said. I said the same exact thing once I found out about them protesting "Our Beloved" RONNIE JAMES DIO's service. As much as I want to beat all these disgusting people, as so do alot of people. We just can't. We are there to mourn RONNIE not to feed in to them. And when we do that, RONNIE will look down upon us, and throw down the horns from the sky to us and be very proud!
