  • Beautiful....thank you.

  • Lovely and tender song.

  • So sweet...It sounds like a lulluby....

  • This song is about gaining wisdom and appreciating the simple things in life.

  • This is the best version that I have ever heard. Belafonte is excellent singer.

  • Beautiful images of nature. A skillful film work. Perfectly. Thank you.

    A great singer.

The song is so emotional. This is not just music but a story.

In addition to his artistic career, Harry Belafonte peaceful dedicated his life to humanitarian causes, and much more

I rejoice that I could enjoy this wonderful song and thanks for the common use.

  • I think this song is like heaven. Warm and shining

  • Cette version est peut être la plus travaillée. Le chanteur n'est probablement pas distrait par son public, dommage qu'il n'existe pas une version vidéo de l'enregistrement !

  • This is the theme song from "The Fantasticks"; in a performance of that show, it would be sung much more uptempo. I love the orchestral backup of this version; starting into the last verse it suggests December's chill wind.

  • splendid masterpiece! splendid voice! but then what a pain to remember! then i just weep & weep

  • still the most touching version so far!

  • Listening to Harry Belafonte sing this lovely song gives me a good feeling. The accompanying photos are nice too and bring back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting this.

Belafonte´s voice is like a river song

beating with the heart of heaven trough the earth and into the leaves, his art will remain over the time.

  • Antmenah has written, 03-29-2010,

Harry Belafonte is just like a river song beating with the heart of life and heaven, through the earth and leaves for ever

  • Antmenah has written, 03-29-2010,

Harry Belafonte is so natural and great: like a river song beating with the heart of heaven through the earth to the leaves and into life for ever.

  • Beautiful!! Inspiring!!!!

  • What a lovely song. If beauty were a mystery, this would be its revelation

  • This is a very nice version of this wonderful song.

  • Such a BEAUTIFUL VOICE the clarity and Diction Superb SO PEACEFUL SO SO CALMING Thank you for Posting HARRY BELAFONTE At HIS very BEST

  • Beautiful images to go with this lovely, lovely song! The eloquence.....where does this exist today?

  • I think that Eloquence and Beauty, both forms of Truth, exist eternally. From time to time they are forgotten, both by individuals and nations. These things are always there if we look for them though; it is just a matter of looking in the right place.

  • I love this song since my childhood (Ich liebe dieses Lied seit meiner Kindheit).

  • @Haraldius Weisst du aus welches Jahr dieses wunderbare Lied stammt? Dorothee

"Try To Remember" is a song from the musical "The Fantasticks" (1960) written by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones.

The original off-Broadway production ran a total of 42 years, making it the world's longest-running musical.

For the first time the song appeared 1961 on The Many Moods of Belafonte (RCA).

But Harry Belafonte has recorded the song multiple times afterwards.

  • I think the music would suit the Autumn scenery in Maine or New Hampshire better than in Switzerland. Beautiful music.

  • What a beautiful song.........

Makes me feel peaceful and warm........

  • Harry Belafonte at his best! TY!

  • One of his best! It´s so marvellous! A kind of inner peace and harmony!
