@Slowpokekitty real life little one, real life. all tools work for everything, some more efficient than others. picks are actually very good at clearing dirt/sand and are sometimes used more, shovels are for moving easily movable dirt/sand(not too packed) while picks are used for breaking them. now, a better question is- did he transfer from real life to minecraft? o.O
