BYU sure is gonna have an uphill battle in 2010, comin INTO Florida, where it is just STICKY HOT, losin max hall, pita the te, and especially unga, that's a HUGE loss.
He freaken held Andrew George!! 0:57 we had a good drive going right there, if the ref would have atleast thrown the stupid flag we would have scored.
Boise won't travel for big games very often. That is a fact. Cant deny it, but I do apologize about the "stupid" comment regarding the blue turf. I was looking on their schedule in a couple years they'll play virginia tech away, that's cool but I think BSU needs to travel and play a difficult team on the road for credibility, they cant hide at home to do it all the time. Oregon's looking good now but they weren't at the beginning. Either way, I hope they go undefeated to complicate BCS crap...
I don't really like BSU very much, i live in Boise and the fans are terrible, the reason i want teams like FSU to come play them is so BSU can shut there mouths about how amazing they are, they play crap teams and should grow a pair and play better teams in the non-conference. I like the players and coaching staff, hate the city and most fans!
Dang I'm a cougar fan and this game bummed me out. I really respect FSU for coming to humble the us. BUT, I am kinda frustrated with FSU now cause they really only seem to have wanted to win THIS game, and thus far have lost every game since, some to teams not even as good as BYU. They seem to only play hard if the team is ranked. C'mon FSU, please show us this game wasn't a fluke, you guys got soooo much talent when it clicks...
I like to say thank you for not being a sore loser..That show me that the Cougar nation has good sportmenship. Fsu is a Great team..But, Are biggest probelm is ourself..One game we come prepare to win and the other its like a new team out there. Our Defense is Really Slacking this year. I mean, Fsu never give up this many TD ever in any game. South florida and Bostan college was a dam shame..GT was a Hard fight to the end. I know my Noles won't go out like this. :)
Don't feel too bad man we'd kill for your cornerbacks and defense. We have some great offensive weapons (Pitta, Unga) but the reality of BYU is that the lifestyle is very different for those who aren't used to it.We only get a certain type of recruit and often it doesn't work out defensively too well. I wish we had half the talent of FSU's players, especially some of those defensive ends... Then again, looking at the score, I think we do have about half the talent of most of your players.
FSU played great, came prepaired, they should be in the top ten, BYU didn't look like they wanted the game as much. The pick-six was a bad no call, the ref was right there too. It could have changed the whole game around for BYU, not to say they would have won anyway.
BYU wanted this game very, very much. No one should thing otherwise. BYU was overhyped by the media. After all the talk about how BYU would beat FSU's faster, but undisciplined athletes by 2 TD's, there was the game remaining to be played. All the "want to" BYU could have mustered would not have changed the reality that very few if any of their players are on the same level as FSU's superb athletes. Shades of Air Force, TCU and the Fisher DeBerry postgame observation.
Yeah, FSU could be one of the elete teams we'll have to see how it plays out, if OU runs the table, BYU could still be good, it could be that they were just outcoached, Bobby Bowden is a master at exposing weaknesses in other teams.
Put it this way. If FSU plays up to their potential (like they did in this game) they can play with almost anyone in the nation. Especially when Ponder is playing well. He is like a mix between our last 2 Heisman winners. He moves like Charlie Ward and has the arm of Chris Weinke. Ponder will make a Heisman run next season if not this one. IMO FSU would beat Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, USC, Georgia, ect) You may disagree but they will prove it the next couple of years. Go NOLES!!!
William Floyd. Doesn't really add much IMO. I also don't like his TD catch phrase "CHOP IT UP" as much as Peter Tom Willis' "I SEE YA (player's name)"
Jermadem, Thanks for putting this game video up. I was in Laughlin all weekend and didn't have a chance to watch anything. Thanks again, man. GOOOD GAME. This is what the Seminoles need to jump back into the Top 25.
yea buddy finaly we had a good game and what a better time to have a good game then agenst #7 BYU good game now the Q is if we can take this win and use it to be a better team so we can play a good game agenst USF this saterday.
FSU is getting the credit they deserve after the win. BYU is still perceived as a strong team, and FSU handling their D the way they did really is helping FSU credibility.
Watch the replay at about :52. I am a BYU fan and in no way am blaming the loss on this missed PI, but it may have changed the game as we were slicing through the D at a record pace. Now that I am over the loss, I love watching that play and consider it a thing of beauty that Reed would have the guts to even try it.
If you watch at about :54 you see the obvious Offensive pass interference. You werent slicing through the D at a record pace. The D already forced two turnovers on the offense. The game was already escaping BYU's grasp. That pick just sealed the deal.
The TE pushed on Reid right as the pass was starting to be thrown. It would be easily considered Offensive pass interference. Reid evened it out by slinging himself forward by grabing onto the TE.
You may be right about the offensive PI and even forcing the 2 turnovrs, but to say we weren't slicing your D is insane. We haven't had 9 yards per play since the WAC days. 473 total yards with just 6 3rd down attempts? Never even got to 3rd down. Your 6.7 yards per play is very impressive with the amount of running plays attempted, but 9 yards per play would be considered slicing.
You deserved the win and are the better team, just wanted to make that point. Win out and beat Miami.
It wasn't so much BYU's perceived "arrogant" attitude as it was the nonsense being spewed by the media. The BYU players are athletes. Of course they're going to believe in themselves and their system. The media would have had everyone believe that somehow FSU's faster, quicker and more athletic athletes would not be up to the task. Look at how the media builds up USC's Matt Barkley and practically ignores U of Miami's Jacory Harris or gives credit to his receivers or Off. Coordinator.
Being fans of ACC teams we must realize that we aint media darlings (I'd like to think most of us dont care) like teams from the sec and pac ten...once we realize that its much easier to say FUCK IT and play some hard nosed football...
This win reminds me of the FSU teams in the 90's. You think that FSU is being beat badly in some aspect of the game, but they make a couple of big, quick plays and they win by twenty-six.
I think a lot of those big plays came late, when we knew we had the game won. I still think there should be enough discipline to where you don't give up big plays, no matter what, but anyways, this team is legit! Every time Miami wins, it makes us look better! I think we shoulda beaten them, but I think we will face them in the ACC championship.
I agree I'm a canes fan but it's high time that the acc gets it's respect and considering the gators and bama and texas have creampuff schedules the era of championship thru fsu or miami may once again be upon us.Remember the days of casey weldon and amp lee?Gino torreta and michael irvin.Let's go ACC!
Word. The ACC gets no respect, and Florida played Charleston Southern and Troy the first 2 weeks. UM and FSU play tougher schedules. FSU saw all except 2 teams they played last year, go to a bowl. I think next year, that FSU/UM rivalry will finally be a top-5 game, once again!
True that. Granted as a Noles fan, I was fairly pissed off loosing to you guys on the season opener by a low, but catch-able pass dropped in the end zone. However, unlike UF, I still have high respect for UM and after seeing you guys trash GT, then us smear BYU I have high hopes to play you guys again in the ACC Championship game. Its long over due for both programs to rise back up to national powerhouse dominance once again. I also love having as many ACC teams in the top 25 as the SEC does.
Amen! I did think Reid interfered, but it didn't really matter all that much. Too much Noles. I think next year, FSU and UM will be in the top 5 when they face each other

You could just as easily argue an offensive pass interference no call on the same play, so it evens out.

No it doesn't, the penalities would have been offsetting, and the down would have been played over. Bad calling for the ref on that one.
