  • You forgot the "t" in "Meeting".

  • This video is from 2 years ago. I believe it was the end of September and we start school the middle of August each year! :)

  • Simply amazing! I just became ur fan:) Can u also tell us how many days has it been since u began and brought them to this stage...?

  • You are amazing!

  • i love some of the comments made, such as "kiss your brain" & "class.....oh yea". also, when a student did not know an answer the whole class responded in "thats cool".

  • I'm impressed, but why are they all shouting? Is it just because the video camera is on or is this what they always do? It would be very difficult for a student with sensory issues, or just any child who likes quiet, or me who likes quiet!

  • I think this is AMAZING! I also teach at an at-risk school with many behavior issues. Therefore, this video to me is something I would love to aim towards. These are children that thrive off of structure and this is clearly engaging as all the kiddos are participating! I can't wait to watch your other videos! Thank you for sharing!!! Do you have any videos that show the process of you teaching this routine to the class. I would be very interested in it!

  • This is great. I begin student teaching in a couple of weeks and I have never seen ALL children in a classroom participate in calendar time so attentively and enthusiastically.

    Wonderful job.

  • This is not control...this is called engaging the students in an effective way. There is nothing worse than a bunch of disengaged kids and you have to be a teacher to understand that. It's not so easy to be a good engaging teacher and experience is key. Seems you got loads of experience in kindergarten. Thanks I liked the power teaching :-)

  • I know exactly what you mean about needing the additional discipline. It is very hard for some people to understand that some children need more than what they taught us in school. That's why we have such poor learning scores in some schools. The administration thinks all children learn the same way. All children deserve success, and if they need a different approach, that's what they should get. I love it. Thank you for sharing. All my students will achieve next year.

  • @subarumom I would also like to note that I teach in a "at risk" charter school where behavior problems are our biggest challenge. Therefore, more control of the classroom is required due to this issue. I do hope you look at other videos I have posted and you will see the progression in the classroom throughout the year! Have a blessed day!

  • @KinderTeacherRise Agreed, unfortunately at most schools teachers don't need this most control...at my charter school the kids are BOUNCING off the walls!!! If I can get my kids to behave half as well this year I'll be ecstatic! Nice! I bet it's nice to get to teach during the day!

  • @subarumom First I would like to thank you for your feedback. However, I can tell you that in no way is my classroom "robotic" as you call it! Please take the time to watch my other videos as well as read more about Whole Brain Teaching. Have a blessed day!

  • Great ideas. I'm a new kindergarten teacher and looking for ideas. It was a wonderful video!!! thanks

  • I am having trouble responding to comments...please email me at riseprek@yahoo.com for answers to your questions! Be blesseds!

  • @amandajw86 Oh you make me blush!!!

  • I will be a first year teacher come this fall, and I was wondering how to train your students to do all of that?

  • Mrs. Shipley, you have got it going on!!! I've been using WBT since the first week of school this year so I have a little bit of experience-enough to recognize a terrific WBT teacher! I'm giving you a "fantastic spray!" (with one hand pick up your spray bottle and spray 3 times going psh, psh, psh. With your other hand, pick up your paper towel and wipe the air in a circle saying, "You're FANTASTIC!!"
