HOLY FUCKIN SHIT!!! who said Robert can't sing anymore?! Well, i did, untill i had heard the last 5 and a halv minutes of this preformance! long live led zeppelin :'D
@FenderMeddle94 You mean the last 2:15 mins, right? 5:30 into the song. He could always do that, but he usually doesn't cause it temporarily damages his voice, so if he's on tour, he doesn't do it. He did here and on Dazed for this Reunion probably cause it was a one-time show.
There have been a lot of good bands throughout the years. In my mind this is the greatest band ever. The Beatles and the Stones can write a hell of a song. But as far as being musicians....eh. This band, pound for pound has to be the all time greatest band. All the members are acknowledged as being the best or close to it in their field. How many other bands can you say that about. Rush maybe but Geddy Lee is really a bass player and singer by default.
@MrRaiders3581 I gotta say, I'm inclined to agree. My opinion the Beatles are the greatest band ever, but from a musicianship standpoint only McCartney excelled at his instrument (bonus points to Starr for super-human time-keeping) but when you talk strictly musicianship it's gotta be Zep hands down. I appreciate these musicians on so many levels. Simply awesome.
Nowadays guitarists like me can make a song out of three power chords thanks to the great sounds of modern amps. Now, when a band from the 70s like Led Zep gets access to that sound, as in this video, that's just insane
They made so many great songs and everyone probably has there favorite, but I find this one to be their very best. I love the hard hitting bass, drums, guitar, and perfect timing of Plant.
Sounds friggin awesome...............with my headphones on...........i feel i'm on the mothership.........Zeppelin............one of the best bands ever........they sound like they are from another planet........like to teach earthlings the gospel of Rock :) Peace
Right on.. Bonham was the best rock drummer of all time. Pert? I've seen him in person. BORING. DRY. The man has no soul. He should be an accountant or a CPA.. A nerd with a big drum set..
I might say that what you just said was nearly against the law - are you aware of who you were talking about?! I am sure you must have thought that it was Bonzo, but i can assure you - i don't think that it was him!
OK, here's something a little freaky. At 6:12 or so, at the end of Jason's drum fill, there's apparently a faint voice of a man shouting "yeah!", but it doesn't sound like it's from the audience or from Robert Plant. I can also hear it in my recording of the show which is different from this recording. It almost sounds oddly like one of those ghost audio sensory things when they say they capture ghosts with electronic equipment that the human ear doesn't pick up.
Wow, it sure sounds like a person's voice if you listen with headphones. But it's true you can see Jimmy doing something like that at that same moment.
Actually, I should correct myself there. On this recording it's hard to tell because it's not all that clear, but on the audio bootleg I have it sounds a lot like a person.
Why is it that people like you think you can use the internet as a little screen to hide behind while you just insult people in ways that you would not dare do to their face? It just shows a lot of weakness.
Why are you assuming it's dumb when you haven't heard the audio recording I have? And why would you assume I'm saying there's a ghost when all I'm saying is that's what it sounds like, not that's what it is? Why would the first thing you do is decide to insult someone without even fully understanding where they're coming from?
You can never say never - Mr Plant may just have a hankering to get that high that they all must have experienced last year - I know when I watch this stuff it sends a shiver down my spine. Go on Mr Plant you know it makes sense - Do it before they have to wheel you on.
Great sound - Saw them at Albert Hall I think 1970 - Frankly I feel they sound tighter here than then. Both Bonhams were superb plus rest of band - I seem to remember that Page was a bit eratic back then. Probably playing with a clearer head now.
Anyway loved the experience & pray for a second chance to see them before either I or they drop dead!
Gotta agree with that. My brother's only 10 and he's really into Zeppelin and Floyd.
I started getting into Zeppelin maybe at the age of 11 or 12... I'm 14 now, and I think I know more about the band than lots of people my age. It's an addiction to me.
This is actually one of my favorite performances of this song. The ending is incredible. I hope they release it on dvd/cd soon, I'd punch my mother AND grandmother in the face to see it.

Actually, the tempo is even slower than on the Studio cut. They generally speed it up for live perfromances of Kashmir.
But that's OK with me, it is the slow hypnotic tempo of Kashmir that makes it so cool .
