HILARIOUS. Love you talking about America stupidity when you've spelled countries incorrectly. You US haters are so funny. You talk smack about us but you sure do find the time to watch our programming. LOL!!!
Considering that these "American Revolution" sketches heavily featured established characters as our founding fathers, it's a shame that George Washington was just an anything muppet. He could have been played by Kermit or Guy Smiley.
@mwermuthland Contrary to your belief, I believe that Washington was played by Guy Smiley, with makeup and wig, for a variety of reasons, including same performer and AM style, and a few quick bits of Smiley-esque enthusiasm, albeit rather sedate for Smiley standards. Oh, and don't forget: Smiley sang in that tone for "I'll Love You in Springtime" and the "Letter of the Day" song, even speaking in said tone during the latter.
Grover's WAY funny in this skit! And we thought Kermit and Mr. Johnson(aka "Fat Blue") were the ones who were annoyed by him the most, looks like our first president didn't think too highly of him either LOL!!!

Notice they avoid using the F-word ("fight") and the B-word ("battle"). It's "Sesame Street," after all.

Except, ya know, Washington and his band of regulars went to Trenton to surprise the GERMAN mercenaries employed by the British.

Kermit probably would've worked well, especially with his frazzled-chemistry regarding Grover!
