Set back away from it and ask, "are you attempting to give me one of those Christian side-hugs?" When they answer in the affirmative, shake your head and say, "I'll pass. I like you, but until you can hug like a human being, we might as stay a couple steps apart".

Let them feel the mockery they deserve for this one.
