  • i dont think it is an actual dislocation of the jaw. you just move it forward... thats just me!

  • You should place your thumbs lower, so you can remove the lower lip and open the mouth. The palm of both your hands rest on the patient's forehead.

  • @Tacheletje You're right, I think this video is slightly inaccurate. Red cross first responders learn to use the thumbs to slightly open the mouth, palms to steady the head, and remaining digits to dislocate the jaw.

    Does anyone know how much resistance there would be when doing a MJT? I saw a vid during surgery that makes it look like it's no effort at all to dislocate the jaw.
