There is a huge difference between providing some basics like education, maintained roads and highways, and taking even more away to give away more. I pay property taxes but what I do not want to do is to pay more and more so that I eventually get to the point that I can no longer afford my property. That is the difference. If you cannot see that then you have the issue, not me.
