  • able, to make the system function with its limited requirements. I suspect IBM, Microsoft, Apple, and majority of these companies didn't have a plan, nor architects. Nor youtube and many more companies. You don't necessarily need more employees to build a competant system. Just people who are not fascist and will get the job done to adequately facilitate any improvements required.

  • that the building doesn't just waste time like youtube does with video responses. So it's important for IT specialists to construct a system like this so it can adequately function to allow people not to have such annoyances in their life, like posting two posts to make up one. It's about systems construction and it takes smart thinking in the first place to accommodate the full requirement of the system in the end. Sometimes this takes a whole new system, sometimes its just adopting whats avai

  • I totally agree. But the idea there is a plan, just wrong terminology. A company needs a system. And the system needs to be adequate for the business. In traditional sense. The system has been considered a network of operating systems, and the programmers have to still work around that. It's a funny cartoon, but I don't think people will really get an outline from it. An adequate business manager is needed, someone who is just not in it for cash and going to help the workers out so ...

  • Software architects are actually computer jerks who dreamed of being building architects. Unfortunately they didn't make it to Architecture school. They just wanna uplift their lowly trade so they are using the professional title architect.

  • ... Architects in the information technology sense are responsible for planning or creating an idea or solution (see number 2 in comment below). In the world we live in today some IT implementations are so vast and complex that I’m pretty certain that they could rival most building projects when it comes to complexities and intricacies.

  • The Oxford dictionary defines the word architect as:

    1. A person whose job is designing buildings, etc.

    2. A person who is responsible for planning or creating an idea, an event or a situation

Now to all those building architects who feel threatened by other professionals in wholly different industries/environments using the word architect in their professional title, please feel free to read the dictionary! Some of your comments seem to lack any clear sign of a professional education.

  • what the heck is a software architect? are computer programmers trying to market themselves by changing their names?

  • Every system needs a plan~! Meet the architects!

오래된 동영상, 하루 이틀 얘기가 아닌데... 아직도...

  • The sheer visual mess and debauchery of this video shows that software "engineers" are not architects.

The title of an Architect is a noble one, a soul immersed in the fine arts as well as the heavenly order of numbers; of which stretches back to the beginnings of civilizations (Imhotep, the royal architect of the Pharoahs who designed the first step pyramid).

So please, do not put a muck on the image and title of the Architect.

  • My so called "architects" at my job dont have a clue how my software works and they tell me how to design the infrastructure in their broken english.

  • @in2musik interesting remark ! what´s your job? regards !

  • @quiero3ver Messaging platform with hardware and software for a corporation that outsources usa work out to everybody but where they reside.

  • lol No engineers mentioned what so ever

  • Every state in the US has laws which govern the practice of architecture and the credential one must have to use the title, architect. In fact, it is illegal for any individual who is not licensed by the State to use the title, architect. Pay attention all you electronics engineers and software programmers, you are not architects and what you do with computer software and hardware is not architecture, it is called electronic engineering.

  • Well for us living in the rest of the world, the title enterprise architect will work just fine and help explaining what we are doing. Let us hope the fine people of the US will also have the this opportunity.

  • some swsystems are complex than the god damm building.

  • This video makes clever use of a common job title to analogously describe a much less well known job. They aren't calling themselves actual architects in the real world, and I'm sure they're not going to try to maliciously pass themselves off as such either. Please, don't hate monger for no reason.

  • I agree, I have a degree and and a license that lets me call myself an architect. Architects design buildings not software. Why don't you call yourselves software doctors?

  • @studiob57 i agree that its not architecture but i totally disagree that its electronic engineering. they see the big picture and want it to work a certain way. after blowing TONS of money it still doesnt work? and then the "project it scrapped" saying "oh well?" I think these over-titled people should be held responsible for blowing the money. US has the laws but US corporations dont follow the laws. hmm there is a thought...

  • that was a supprisingly good video that well explained architects etc.
