  • There is a old family saying that if you can't say something good about someone, then don't say it. This was a groundbreaking performance back in the late 1970s and Mr. Atamian recorded the very first commercial digital recording ever released. The recording was of this transcription. We all have our favorites. Mr. Rivera plays as if he still learning the piece. Atamian on the other hand plays with passion and authority. He also plays completely from memory.

  • ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! I just received the Sam Raphling score as a gift and I am in a state of wonder of how well he did his transcription. I compared with several other versions including Stravinsky's original 4 hand and I believe Stravinsky would love to hear this version...Thank you so much for posting this historical live moment!

  • very challenging transcription, great performance. but imo the 2-hand version contains too many compromises. - even the 4-hand version has too many.

  • nice, but not the best I've seen... this is a real good le sacre du printemps solo performance

  • @lugio1981 my link wasnt pasted.. search for *rite of spring daniel rivera*

  • THANKS for your nice comment -- hopefully one of these days Atamian will get back on the stage -- he's a one-of-a-kind SUPER FANTASTIC artist!!!

  • Incredible! I can't wait to see you on stage again.

It is not just the incredible technique but also the amazing understanding of that music from the raw savagery of the pagant festival to the sensuality of the dances.

    Absolutely amazing!

  • Don't forget, if you're interested you can get MP3s of Ataman at iTunes, amazon.com, etc.

  • Hey, THANKS for your very nice comments, they are very much appreciated -- Atamian is a World Class artist!

  • Sheesh! Hats off, gentlemen, a genius! Bravo!

OMG! Will you post the rest?

  • Bravo, Ritchie! Mind bending technique. Inspired interpretation. Thrilling!
