Gunns with deposed premier Robin Gray as a director and Edmund Rouse on same board of directors should be laughed out of existence. Unfortunately such is the sorry state of lethargy in this place they will eventually have all they want, again at the taxpayers expense.
To ignorant to learn from the past. This proposed pulp mill would be a hugely terrible thing to create. History shows me when I was there having a look at Queenstown one of Tasmania's big tourist attractions unfortunately they learnt a terrible lesson it shows the total destruction of the environment caused by mining ore and that they now benefit from that. When they should be holding the heads low.
The real problem is Gunns is so bloody powerful they can exercise beligerence thanks to the likes of Paul Lennon even to offer positions on the board once theyve given Gunns what they want, e.g: John Gray former Tasmanian Premiere (Chairman of the board) and a Supreme court judge etc... look it up!
Theyll bend the enviroment rules and when they break them theyll pay a petty fine and continue regardless whilst still making a profit. Paul Lennon, Premier...lol, only in Tassie.
I can't understand the blindfolded attitude that people have, to cheerfully conclude that a company wouldn't destroy an area of natural beauty just to line their pockets!
Wake up Tassie, they're raping the land and the future. The greed of logging companies has gone on long enough- it's time to end the horrific destruction of our natural heritage.
Lennon's thugs should hang their heads in shame. However I suspect they haven't got the intellect to realise or the character to aknowledge what they are going to destroy for all humanity for all time.
about time commercial tv started covering some of the blatant corruption of tasmanian politics...so at least the mass public who only listen to brainwashing can open their eyes and ears too...and start considering that politics aside we all need the same things to live- you can't survive on greed alone for too long.
