  • beautifull tone and timming, very nice les paul to!

  • BIG HANDS

  • Nicely done!

  • PERFECT. is it AC30 cc1 or cc2?

  • @rayenantheny

Hi there, it's a CC2 with the standard speakers not the greenbacks.

  • Either the guitar is really small, or he is really big lol good video!

  • @guitarman12ful Les pauls aren't that big.

  • I like your playing and guitar. You are fast.

  • are you using any distortion pedals for this?

  • @fatlard5776

A Rat set with vol on 3/4 and gain about a quarter. Just to smooth it out. The amp was pretty cranked to get the overdrive and AC30's get into Marshall territory very quickly when flat out.

  • fantastic playing, tasteful yet fast and aggressive. really dig it! and the tone is amazing.

  • His 8 roomates didn't like blues... morons

  • Nice video! Can you tell me the set up of your amp/pedals? I really liked your tone, how get this using a Marshall MG15 and a LP Studio? Thanks...

  • COOL man......I could never keep that still...LOlol. How can you rip that , float a boat , soar and tell it like it is sittin down.....Always been my problem.

    Excellent work friend.

  • sounds good! woo!

  • Browsing through countless "Les Paul - VOXAC30" demos, this one stood out most with regard to my preferences! I someday hope to be able to afford an AC30 classic.. Half way there with a GLP 50thAnn Supreme! Yay! Super skills man! But brother, I can't help but ask... That LP looks like a GuitarHero/RockBand controller on you.. How frickin' tall are ya?!?

    Best wishes...

    Peace brother!

  • @gwemula

6ft 3 dude, thanks for the kind words.

  • I love your playing style, setup and tone, awesome stuff!

  • Great video!

I would like to ask you if this is a good amp for a room (mostly about the volume). Also could you tell me if you are using any pedals and if yes, which?

  • great guitar man....

  • OUTSTANDING!!! I loved your Playing man, now I might wanna ask you a little question hope u could answer me....What Scales/Modes can I study to sound like that?....do you suggest me any Book or Lesson?? thanks!

  • @rakyaband

hi, thanks for the words. The only scales I'm using here are minor and major pentatonics. The trick is knowing when and where over the I IV V progression to bring in the major pentatonic as the dominant scale choice. I do it here over the V chord.

If you don't know a major pentatonic fingering simply use your minor pentatonic scale shape down 3 frets (c minor pentatonic becomes A minor pentatonic) the trick is to highlight the c note as the home note in the A minor pentatonic.

  • I love this vid man. What tubes are you using? i just bought an ac30 used and it needs new tubes and i love that tone your getting. thanks

  • @Folsumblues92

Hi thanks for the kind words. The amp was completely stock, just turned up pretty loud, hence why the camera was vibrating. I also used a RAT on a very low setting to cream it up.

  • Awesome tone!

    Awesome playing!

Congrats on the new Les Paul...she's a beaut

  • where can i get the track ? ! :D

  • Shit I better get practising again, you're good... is professional guitarist your occupation? lol

  • Holy crap, nice guitarwork! I've got a little question: my signature guitar tone (I currently own a Marshall MG101fx transistor amp) is kinda like a violin, with the neck pick-up of my Gibson Les Paul Standard 2008 model selected and the tone knob rolled all the way back. Would I be able to get the same great sustain, violin-like tone and feedback from the Vox AC30?

  • @Emielio1

You would need a good overdrive pedal to be at that kind of level for sustain. Only when cranked to ear splitting vol does the ac30 distort to that level.

  • my dream amp, so awesome, so versitile.

  • This is the ultimate AMP!!!!!

  • Great playing and licks .....super....

  • shiiit! good blues man! I can see you also have a strat... I'll soon be changing my guitar and I play all kind of music (mostly rock- rock blues) which of the two would you recomend? thanks =)

  • @snowboarder699 Kinda hard to pick one from the other. They are both great in their own right but will give you very different experiences and sounds. If you like guys like Stevie Ray Vaughan go for a Strat and a Fender amp. If you're more into the Bonamassa / Warren Haynes type blues then go for a Les Paul and a Marshall.

  • @snowboarder699 from my experience a les paul are more hard to play since the fretboard is more wide cus of the binding, if you are just starting out, buy a strat, great guitar, you can play more styles with a les paul though, every strat has that hendrix srv sound to it, a les paul is more configurable, you can dial in a lot of different tones wich is not possible on a strat, and it don't sound like hendrix and srv, also humbuckers are great for metal,

  • @satjathamma Thanks alot man, but i've just bought a Gibson es-335. Probably the best guitar i've ever played! Think it's better than both guitars cuz it's alot more versatile (if u spell it like that)!!!

  • song please

  • is that a 2008 Standard in Dester Burst ?

If yes, I have the same Guitar like you :)

    Nice Blues !!!

  • sounds a little bit like joe bonamassa

  • I feal riding a hotrod now O_O

  • sounds like jimmy page

  • such a gorgous tone

  • Great Playing, Great Tone.

Which Flavor is that Vox. C2,or C2x, CC2 or CC2x?

I am close to deciding and see there are a few to chose from

  • are you using a pedal for clipping ? or its just the ac30 overdrive ? nice tone man

  • @fabianromano

Hi man, using a RAT for a little extra dirt, but the general breakup is from the amp.

  • i love tu pedasote

  • what kind of pick ups?

  • @Flerg3

They would be Burstbuckers. I beleive 1 and a 2.

  • Savage tone man!!!

  • Nice Playing man! I have a question though, I'm torn between getting a Vox AC30 or a Mesa Boogie Extreme, and all I'm trying to get is a good blues tone. What would you reccomend?

  • definitely the vox for blues...don't get me wrong. i love my boogie express 5:50, and it plays great blues, but you can't deny an AC30.

  • Thanks man, I appreciate it. and *express. not extreme haha.

  • is this improvised very nice anyways amazing playing...

coming from a guitarist my self

  • wow. I wish my setup sounded that good. And I wish my hands moved like that.

  • Great tone.

Is this just Vox tone or are you using external effects?

    thanks

  • man nice tone, alot of bb inspiration without that growl. and

  • Hi, thank you. B.B. Is one of my top 3 favourites of all time.

  • amazing tone

  • Thank you so much, tone is so important to me. When people comment on my tone that is the nicest thing you can say to me.

    Cheers!

  • Joe Bonamassa style! very cool.

  • nice, so many penatonic players, so few that can play a turnaround, love that blue note.

  • @frantzhen

Hi there, the scale I use between 0.15 and 0.17 and indeed throughout various bars is the C Major pentatonic scale, (c,d,e,g,a) The same notes as the A Minor pentatonic; as A is the relevant Minor to C Major. You can use your regular A Minor pentatonic shapes as long as you 'home in' around the C note rather than the A note.

Hope this makes sense if not, message me. Thanks.

  • wow...that was excellent

  • the Les Paul rules the Strat's world.

  • oh boy. neither

  • It's not the guitar, its the guitarist

  • That's some damn good vibrato.. quick and subtle. Great playing too!

  • Sounds wonderful, great combination. A Les Paul and a AC30! Keep up the good work!

  • great jam, sounds great

  • Both great playing and tone. 5/5

  • Awesome playing mate, really awesome. That's what i call BLUES. Excellent tone too

  • You remind me of Duane Allman.

  • With a little slide, yes. Otherwise, agree.

  • well done man!your playing is very very good!congratulations!

what channel did you use?and about equalization, cut and volume and master what configuration didi you use?

  • what pedals are you using man ? your tone is godly. :o

  • USA ProCo RAT and a Tech 21 RVB Boost reverb pedal straight into the AC30only cause the reverb on the AC30 is bad.

RAT is a great sound but Boss Turbo Distortion is also a great LoFi Old Skool pedal.

    Thanks for the comments man.

  • is this just the RAT, or the RAT and the Boss at the same time?

  • No, you misunderstood me this is just the RAT, I was just mentioning that the Boss was a similar sounding pedal for similar money.

  • hey is this a vox custom custom classic?

  • Yes CC2 with standard Vox speakers.

  • Right on buddy, you're my kind of player...

Congrats on the new Les Paul, oh man that feels good don't it?

  • dude thats seriously amazing tone lol like AAMAZZINGG

  • holy shit that was way cool .

  • omg. You are the blues master.

  • sounds great!!!

  • Freakin' awesome tone and playing!

  • Are you running that guitar through any switchboxes or pedals? Also great playing, i have the same guitar!

  • a RAT and a RVB Reverb pedal from Tech 21. Only cause the reverb on the VOX is shit.

  • You kick it hard great playing, man

  • holy shit dude, that was incredible. are you john mayer?

  • someone else below said that. Must be the ridiculus hair.

  • haha even though I like john mayers playing that made me laugh hard !

you aren't only a great guitar player but you make me laugh also !

  • freakin awesome man

im lookin into this amp or the fender blues deville

    any suggestions?

i want something that can has clean headroom but overdrive as well

  • If you want clean headroom I'd go for the deville. The AC30 breaks up earlier.

Build quality on the AC 30 isn't great.

I now have a Fender Twin. Check out my other videos for it in action.

  • Its a great combination, and one that i use my self!

    keep up the good work!

  • you got the touch Bro..rockin da Blues

    thanks for sharing...

    davido

  • Thank you my Man!

  • Wow, you fucking shred man! Good sesh. I miss my AC30. An absolutely beautiful amplifier.

  • Thanks, glad you liked it.

  • No less than superb my man. Fantastic blues work.

  • Once again, thanks.

  • superb. 5 stars, keep it up!

  • truly superb. i wonder is the camera shaking because of you stomping? gives it a cool beat effect haha

  • Yea, I guess it was also pretty loud.

  • sounds good. looking into this amp or the fender twin. any thoughts on my dillema?

  • If you want a Fender sound get a Twin or A Super reverb. The Ac30 has a good sound for rock but the quality seems lacking. Mine broke twice and I changed to a 65 Twin re-issue.

I love it. Check out my other videos for a demo of the Zendrive and Twin and The Clapton Strat through a Twin.

    Thanks.

  • Nice AC30 tone!!!

  • you kind of look like john mayor

  • I wish i could play like him!!!

  • well your pretty close

  • how do you get so good? This is a serious question haha.

  • That is one beautiful guitar.

  • Oh Yeah! that is what I am talking about. I am kind of curious if you had checked out Wampler pedals. Brian makes a pedal that emulates a cranked AC30 really well. Very warm sounding. Google indyguitarist, or check out his youtube videos. Top notch playing!

  • That was great!

  • Great playing!

    very clean and precise

  • Do you have a Vox AC30 CC2 or the CC2X with celestions blue speakers?

    Thank you :)

  • That solo sounds sooooo good for this song! ;)

  • Thanks! THAT is how it's done.

  • Wat effect u use ?

    BTW u fantastic !!!

  • No effects here. A RAT pedal was used for overdrive and a Tech 21 RVB pedal was used for some light reverb.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • great tone

    great playing

    remind me of mike bloomfield

  • omg this must be L O U D !! EARTHQUAKE !Im glad we are not neighboors haha

    Nice tone ofc : )

  • Do you have the switch on the back of the AC30 on "Vintage" or "Modern"?

  • Hi Switch was on Modern to give me a bit more bite. But not much difference between the two sounds.

  • Absolutely Brilliant!

But which setting are you using on your Rat pedal? Thank you.

  • Dist at 9.O'clock

    Filter at 10 o'clock and Vol About 12 o'clock.

    Thanks for your kind comments.

  • Thank you very much. I consider to buy a Rat pedal after hearing you playing. What a amazing sound you got. Just the sound i'm looking for. But does it also sound good with Vox AC30, Rat pedal and a Stratocaster instead of Les Paul?? Thanks..

  • You sir, have just won my respect.

    Brilliant.

  • You're a fucking brilliant player! Great job

  • very neat for a muso haha.. i might buy one of these amps i think

  • what pedals are you using???

  • ProCo RAT and a reverb pedal by Tech 21.

  • Great guitar, great amp but overall... what a playing! absolutely brilliant!.

  • I didn't know Benicio Del Toro was such a good guitar player!! Excellent stuff!!

  • that sounded awesome

  • how much did you pay is it worth for a first highend tube amp?

  • Sounds great!

Have you posted the amp settings anywhere?

  • killer palying man! rip it up!

  • the finish on you les paul is my favourite finish for les pauls! keep up the good work!

  • Hi, is that one of the AC30CC's? And what type of speakers are you using?

    Thanks.

  • Hi. Yea a regular CC with Vox's own speakers. The celestions sound much better though for the money. This amp is good but i sold it because I felt the build quality wasn't up to much. It is made in china.

  • Ah, too bad. I've had mine for a year now without any problems.

  • how much was that les paul? is it gibson?

  • Yes 2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard.

  • how much was it?

  • Beautiful Guitar and a beautiful amp.

  • Wow..Nice playing. The only thing I'll say is ..Longer clips!

  • you play like a pro.

  • Sounds REALLY sweet!

  • Terrific phrasing...that's where the battle is - getting it talk instead of babble. Most babble at that speed...you don't! You and Dan Toler phrase a lot alike. HA! I'd like to hear what you have to "say" jamming on Whippin' Post.

What about a video without the Rat so we can hear just the amp.

    Again..impressive!

  • Thanks for your positive views Possumtail.

I have been a fan of the Allman Brothers for years so i'll have a dig about for some related backing tracks.

The Vox is in the shop at the moment as she is blowing fuses like wildfire. But I will post a video of the amp cookin' on it's own when I get her back.

Thanks again for the kind comments.

  • SWEET MAN!

  • Rip and tear brother thats some sweet playing and sooo fluid

  • oi oi nev, tis ur neice :D pretty lush guitar and mum had a little spaz attack when she watched you playing

  • Parler vous anglais???

  • holy fuck!

i wish i could play like you!

seriously this is insane..how long have you been playing?

  • Thanks man, I have been playing for about 17 years, since I was 13.

  • well done, man! diggin' on thems blues!

  • WOW! Awesome.Excellent playing and very good sound and tone!beautiful Les Paul :)

  • Some of the best Les Paul playing i've heard.

    Great tone. Keep it up.

  • well played

  • nice!

    agreed on the allman-esque-ness:P

what effects (if any) are you using btw?

  • Hi thanks for the comments. No effects except a Rat pedal with settings for gain at about one quarter of the way up. I also use a Tech 21 reverb unit as the reverb on the AC30 is unusable.

    Thanks.

  • pretty sick playin, man...the les paul's very duane allman esque
