I do apologize for you experience of abuse. I have been involved with MKP for 4 years and I haven't experienced what you have. Maybe it is possibly a UK thing. Yes, it is a bit harsh the way we do introductions at the NWTA weekends. Where the men are all dressing in black and are forceful and demanding. Yet, this is only reflecting our shadow. It takes a courageous man to face his shadow esp. when it's full of abuse. MKP has helped me heal and recover from Hell
just wanted say there is so much time and space to process your stuff on the weekend...abuse seems like a strong way to characterize since nothing is forced..you can leave whenever you want...I guess there are always people who will go to great lengths to take something so helpul to so many people and make it seem bad...look at the tons of testimonials and the people making them and judge for yourself...
I'd be very curious to see a study of the 30,000 plus men who have gone through and have not chosen to go on the internet warpath, ranting about MKP. I also think that it's important to understand that variations, including inappropriate ones that do hold the potential to cause harm are bound to happen when there are this number of people who have gone through. I don't think however, that men speaking on this forum, myself included, are a representative sample of the 30,000 plus men.
It strikes me that many of the men here were ready to go and therefore, should not have gone. It is indeed a shame that MKP still failed to adequately screen them out. After all, that is what the wrongful death suit was about. It was never really about MKP CAUSING the death. It was about not screening well enough to protect this man from the potential dangers associated with HIS past decisions regarding HIS use of alcohol and about HIS psychiatric problems.
My sense is that if the weekend was truly using phobia indoctrination, intimidation, and other sorts of inappropriate forms of leverage, then you'd be crawled up in the fetal position somewhere hiding from MKP. But you're not. You're using this virtual container to let out anger, albeit misdirected in my judgement. So thank you for speaking your truth. It takes bravery. MKP certainly should do a better job at screening people, to protect them from potential psychological harm.
Mens empowerment doesnt involve being stripped nake or wearing loinclothes or whatever gay stuff that is. Some homosexual is laughing his ass off, mens empowerment is growing a pair and stepping up to the plate when you don't have to. Anyone who wants to go to these weird Indian Homosexual rituals for a couple 100 needs to think about what think about his own self worth.
It sounds like you are homophobic. There are many heterosexual men who do this stuff; thus it is not a "homosexual" thing and I would think that many gay men would take offense to what you've said. Men's empowerment is about conjuring up the wildness that is in our being; at the root of our human being animal
No I am not homophobic. I do not have a fear of homosexuality. I hate homosexuality. Your leftist political views would call it "Heterosexist" or strongly advocating heterosexuality. I think men who are "straight" and do these kind of things voluntarily really need to evaluate themselves. Maybe see a therapist, but real men don't do humiliating and gay shit like this.
@MrNightlyProductions I understand some of the reasons behind the ritual you describe, but I do agree that it is very homosexually oriented. On the weekend there is special care taken to make it clear that homosexuality is embraced and celebrated. Its not a very masculine group, IMO. Lots of broken people trying to help each other, but its not a group of men I would ever wish to associate with.
Sorry about that. To bad you saw it as abusive...did you ever think you're projecting your previously endured abuse onto the weekend? Yes the weekend is intense and designed to bring shit up, but as far as not having a safe place to express yourself, I don't believe you. Sat. is designed to do just that, give each man a safe place to look at his shit, express it and heal it. If you didn't take advantage of that time, then I c a case of believing your own projections and not letting it out.
@magysticmedia Thanks for your empathey. I appreciate that. MKP recently paid out $75,000 over a Wrongful Death lawsuit and there are MKP Survivors groups on the internet. MKP has many classical hallmarks of being a cult. Cults help many people which is why they are so popular. Cults also harm a minority of their members. If you research into cults it becomes obvious all cults are
like this e.g. Scientology, Osho etc.
MKP is identical to other cult groups. MKP has numerous cult hallmarks.
@meandhim45 Yes,I"m completely aware of the lawsuit. MKP put out mass notifications about this & didn't hide or slant the issue. Yes, I"m saddened by this event & hope no one is ever hurt again.
Cult. Yes, MKP, cuz of it's native Americ. rituals and military like greeting is looked @ as a cult...Though, a cult directs a group towards a 'doctrine' or set of beliefs outside themselves & my experience of MKP is about the journey inside ourself...the search for my own truth. 2 me that's Freedom.
@magysticmedia MKP did slant the $75,000 payout as a moral victory for them, as evidence that they done the right thing. If you read the MKP homepages you will see this. Stop being naive, more people will be hurt. Here in UK, MKP men told me they knew of 3 men who died shortly after attending MKP-NWTA.
How many more men will die after attending MKP's weekend boot camp?
You and MKP are willing to harm innocent men to make yourselves feel good.
@meandhim45 U assume naivety, when I read various articles on this tragedy, not just MKP's. No, the MKP wknd is not a prissy wknd nor is it going to coddle you. It's intense and just cuz it is doesn't make it a cult. Now Back to you. @meandhim45 Moral Victory? That some person died? That's blasphemy..There was no such mention of victory. Were the deaths directly due to the weekend or did they pass away due to other causes? spectulation. As has been said... there's no intent to harm anyone, nor direct them to a cult doctrine, though when a man resists his own inner shadows, they can perceive or project harm, then play the victim. This weekend is not for the highly vulnerable or mentally unstable... I"m with you on that.

People are controlled, there is one fanatical leader, people can't leave, people are forced to turn over their assets, when people leave they are threatened with violence, can't question anyone, punishment is involved, usually believe in some extreme beliefs, etc. MKP is not like this. It is a choice and anyone can leave at anytime. All things are options and can be taken or left. Anyone can become a leader. We don't let anyone have too much power.
I do apologize for you experience of abuse. I have been involved with MKP for 4 years and I haven't experienced what you have. Maybe it is possibly a UK thing. @Christopher711 MKP uses various forms of phobia indoctrination. No they dont tell people they will die if they leave MKP. There is tons of bad stuff MKP does not do. No wonder MKP paind out $75,000 in the Wrongfull Death lawsuit last year.
i hope you will admit the truth that MKP abuses people.
I did my weekend in AZ. The whole thing was designed to expose our inner fears, and open us up for change I suppose. It was a diet of granola, overboiled egg that wouldn't peel off of the shell, and watered down chicken soup. As for the naked part, we did the trust walk without clothes or shoes, men who needed glasses had them taken away for safety, and from what I understand the glasses got misplaced for a time. I did a MKP weekend about a year ago,and It was awful. I did it at the request of someone in my life, and it is NOT something that I would ever do again, or suggest to the other men in my life. Being hosed down with ice water, fed substandard prison food, and running naked through the woods with 40 other men really wasnt my idea of personal growth,. Even during my PIT work, I was asked repeatedly to join in with rituals that held no draw for me. Really, a waste of my time and money
It is good, in my judgment, that you have owned your experience and opinion. I think you might have had a bad experience with someone who abuses power. MKP has been a very awesome experience and life-transformative for me.
@meandhim45 This work is not for the feint of heart and for those not accountable for taking care of their own well being. You were told at anytime you could call "safety" if you felt physically or emotionally unsafe. Take responsibility for your own self. Suicidal people are drawn to MKP not all are relieved of depression. As was a factor in the "wrong death suit." $75,000 is a very small number for a wrongful death case.
When they bull you, a simple three finger jab to the nuts will make them think twice before ever doing it again. Luckily, I was at a MKP in NY state, and there was a guy there who was good friends with Joyce Grace. The dudes fucked with him once, and he got in some crazy ass martial arts position, and they immediately backed off. Suffice to say, there wasn't much bullying done to anybody after that, lmfao.
MKP weekend was the worst weekend of my life. Wish i could take it back. Waste of time, money, and sanity. I hate everyone involved in that cult group, and wish nothing but the worst for them. They prey on people and act tough. Cocksuckers.
Hi, It's unfortunate that you didn't connect with this training. I've seen thousands of men with transformed lives as a result of the training, myself included. I was totally given a space to express the feelings that were blocking my spiritual growth. Why don't you go back and do it again? You may connect this time.
I agree with you that the weekend helps many men and it also helped me too but it also damaged many other men by exposing us to extreme bullying and verbal abuse. In my view MKP is 50% good and 50% bad. Big problem is thought MKP men refuse to admit the bad stuff and activelly hides it. And this is a lie. MKP is based on lying by actively misleading vulnerable men about the contents of NWTA and what will happen to them if they sign up.
the weekend is designed to allow men to step into their power and speak n live their truth, to live lives of integrity and accountability. challenge: have you held the men you claim were abusive to you accountable? or is your perpetrator coming out sideways? (perpetrators always feel justified/righteous in their perpetration b/c their coming from a victim space.) it seems you did get something from your w/e as you're speaking your truth and claiming your power. ironic, eh? congrats n blessings!
NWTA is designed to bully, abuse and upset men with the intention of getting them to release emotions and consequently limiting patterns in their lives. Trouble is as part of that package you abuse men and are not great at allowing men to express emotions you think are wrong e.g. sadness. MKP is obsessed with expressing anger. I wanted to cry but was pushed to rip up old books and bang a pillow and kill may father. All I wanted to do was cry but MKP men knew better what I needed. Abusive!!
blessings brother. i'm sorry that you had a bad experience with the weekend. i offer another perspective regarding the secrecy. the weekend is designed to really push mens emotional buttons so that we might become aware of the ways our denial system keeps us locked in destructive patterns of behavior. when men know the process in advance, our denial systems may limit our experience. one of the very first things men are told on every weekend is YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO PASS ON ANY PROCESS.
Thanks Fart. Yes to each there own experience and each man's truth is his own. Again, I don't see any similarity with Boot Camp. The "kept in darkened rooms" was a highly spiritual and calming experience for me. That and other experiences helped me connect with myself and to integrate with all parts of me. Clearly different for you and I honor that.
Boot camp? What NWTA did you attend man? My experience was far from that. It was one of integrating with all of me - my little boy and my mature masculine.
The MKP process is the most effective and compassionate ways of enabling men to step into their truth - that we are all whole, perfect and complete just as we are.
I am sad that you didn't gain benefit from it and also remember - all men and their opinions are welcome.
I am pleased for you it was good. I think for the majority of men who attend NWTA it is good, unfortunetly for a minority of men it is extremelly destructive and abusive as they should not be allowed to participate. They are too unstable to recover easily from the military boot camp techniques that NWTA incorporates e.g. humiliations, kept in darkened rooms, insults, intimidations, bullying etc. If you dont see the similarity between NWTA and Boot Camp techniques please do some reasearch.
Backshisb. What you say is factually incorrect. All opinions are not welcome but especially if you critisice the processes you will find the brothers rapidly turn different.
Hey so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience on your weekend. MKP is about masculinity not sexuality or race or color. Get over it.

Reading all MKP postings here it seems denial and slander is a common theme amongst pro MKP postings here.
Please read what the men who completed MKP work and did not like it say below.
And compare the inability of MKP men to not get personal about what thier organisation done to those men and to me too.
Do the pro MKP men display honesty and integrity? or defensiveness?

The "kept in darkened rooms" was a highly spiritual and calming experience for me. That and other experiences helped me connect with myself and to integrate with all parts of me. Clearly different for you and I honor that.
Be well.

Aho!
