  • @skate4life508: U can get bitten ANYWHERE u go! All I can tell u to possibly avoid a bite of ANY kind is to take plenty of insect repellent, wear clothes that cover from neck to ankle & ankle-covering boots if u go into the bush. My house gets "pesty" only when the weeds in the neighboring lot gets too high. Since it's been cleared all I'm left w/ are scorpions. =D

  • i might go on a cruise to south America can somebody please tell me if i have a risk of being bitten

  • I got bit once on the lower lip and twice on my neck last night by one of these fuckers. I found it in my bed and it now resides in a glass jar awaiting it's torture for fucking with me.

  • I wish I'd been able to see this sooner .. I sure hope someone suggested you take it to whatever local medical facility you have close. They'd be able to either test the bug or send it to the CDC to ck for the bug that causes Chagas. You might still want to visit a dr, if you haven't already, to ask abt any outbreaks of bites in your community & abt any available tests/trtmts available @ present. Good luck & keep the weeds around your hse to a minimum if possible.

  • @iluminameluna I am not worried about chagas. The only thing I have noticed since I got bit is I grew a third testicle and I now have hair on my tongue. Other than that I feel great!

  • SQUAQSH the eggs!

  • In west texas

  • I fuckin hate the bugs.. I would always get bitten because we had swamp air conditioning and they would sneek in easily. Only my house would get these. Cuz we have many huge pine trees and live in the desert. Now I dont see them much.. But outs were red and black

  • @42devil1 I did say it was, but it's Also Known As (aka) a kissing bug 'cause their bites are quite often near the mouth where the skin is relatively thin & exposed when we're asleep.

  • just an fyi it's not a virus it transmits but instead a protozoal species - trypanosoma cruzi.

  • @zjoseph4444 You're absolutely right. I "misspoke" .. BIG difference in the fauna!

  • are thes in canada

  • @starsonic1212 Not sure if you're asking if there are any in Canada. I'd say no, but there didn't use to be any in the States either, but w/ warmer weather patterns, they've been found in TX, AZ & New Mexico. However, these are tropical species of insect. If you go to a clinic & ask, they would be able to tell you whether or not if you have to be aware of them where you live.

  • lol i been bit by one of these have to get blood work

  • @ilostehgamehaha If you're sure you were, then definitely get the blood work. Just be aware you might not be able to find a lab right away locally. My suggestion is to call the CDC & they'll give you all the info you might need. Good luck!

  • P.S. Assasin bugs are a type of kissing bug , on of 80,000 types.

  • I live in the city and have had 2 of these in the last house (in the city). One each fall, by the sink under a window in the kitchen across from some rose bushes. The are in the city. It was blackish-brown and smaller than yours by a little bit. killed them both times thank you Jesus. I knew what it was thanks to National Geographics. The first time I was eye to "eye" with it after I bent down to get something out the cupboard it was on the counter top.

  • and brown recluses are better to me, because I've seen one in the basement and it ran right away but these things were almost confrontational. I was stared down by a bug.

  • @KoreaMojo EEeeew!!! They actually range in size from about an inch long to as small as 1/4 of an inch AND in different colors/patterns.

  • I caught a conenose bug. I live in Europe and I wonder if there's a way of telling assassin bugs from kissing bugs. The one I caught has a thick proboscis clearly separated from its head, as a hook. The bug's colour is dark brown without any special markings.

I originally thought it was a blood-sucking triatoma but I'm not sure anymore.

  • @SaudiTrooper Here's the link to the CDC's info: cdc.gov/chagas/. All the names you mentioned are for the same bug. And it has MANY shapes, sizes and colors. You'll find the information really interesting. You live near woods and/or fields?

  • @SaudiTrooper They ARE ALL the same bug! Just diff names in diff parts of the world. I can't go there right now, but if you Google any of those names you'll get the same pages w/ the scientific label for it.

  • And it isn't a virus which causes Chagas Disease, but a protist animal, instead, the trypanosoma cruzi.

  • This is the bug I fear the most. Chagas' disease is terrible because it lies without permanent cure, just like AIDS.

  • i heard that this bug can kill u in 3 hours or something like that kinda forgot but also no cure if u get bitten from this guy

  • Sorry but you heard wrong. I did make a reference to where you could go to read up on this bug. Maybe you were thinking of a recluse spider? Or some kind of scorpion? In any case, you don't need to worry if you live in an urban setting. These are mostly found in rural or forest areas.

  • @iluminameluna The later, chronic, stage of the disease is very serious. There is often severe heart damage, and while the disease can be treated just after infection, the chronic disease remains incurable. Even heart transplants dont seem to work because the parasite just takes advantage of the lowered immune system, reproduces like madRead more at Suite101: Kissing Bugs: nasty little insects that bite your lips.

  • @quickstrikeman yes the kissing bug can kill you fast or it can be a chronic disease the feces get in the blood

  • @quickstrikeman There is no cure because doctors won't diagnose Chagas disease even if you bring them the bug, and the only place in the USA you can get the prescription is the CDC, if the doctor diagnoses you.

I got chagas, I caught the bug, shot video of it, CAN SEE PROTOZOA IN MY VISION, and they won't even look at the bug.

If you get bit, eat lots of raw garlic, quality aloe vera, and drink the miconazole from desenex powder by stirring it into apple cider vinegar and let the talc settle

  • I don't have the actual date of publication, but the magazine was NOT Watchtower but Awake! put out by the Jehova's Witnesses. My nanna is a member. If this was just an attempt to spam, don't bother doing it again. If, however, you were sincere, I would suggest you study more in order to avoid being thought of us misinformed.

  • yes, thats the one,

  • Wow, it stayed alive for two and a half weeks inside of a bag! And laid eggs! Does it not have to eat often, or was there something for it to eat in the bag somehow? Doesn't it have to breathe? I'm very curious!

  • Sorry, been sick, though not with Chagas. Ha ha. Not sure about how it survived that long in the bag but I had put the bag it was in inside a glass jar. Good thing I did that since she had bitten through it though hadn't escaped. Oh, and I never purposely kill an insect I've stuck in a jar: I leave it's lid loosely screwed. Though in this case I did kill the bug.

  • Is this that bug that bites you near your mouth and leaves this wierd bacteria around the bite and when you rub it into the bite the bacteria attacks your heart??

  • @SimoneDew87 yes it is 8- 11 million people have this in south amaerica it is slowly killing them
