I pretty much fangirled out when I saw this in ur playlist. Rydia is my fav song from FFIV!!! Thanks so much for arranging it! Hope to see more FF music from u sir!
This video made me subscribe to your channel! A very touching piece, from a very good Final Fantasy, and a fantastic rendition from you lonlon! Everytime I hear it, it inspires me to study music harder! With love from Greece! ^_^
How do you do the tap harmonic thing xD The arrangement is so epic and beautiful but I can't play it.. lol don't know how to do that kind of harmonic xD
Thanks a lot for your guitar playing. I really like what you did with the harmonics because it amends a change of expression from the player. Fits the character really well for the true person that she is. Thank you a lot, I will also include that I will never tire of your videos, for I constantly keep coming back to them.
You need not thank me for anything my friend, though your kindness is always appreciated.
We would love to have you perform a recital of your favourite guitar covers. If you are ever interested please do contact me. Keep up the great music.
lon please don't remove this video. Your rendition of Rydia's Theme is really wonderful. This is my favorite of all the Rydia Themes out there. Heck it even beats out the Celtic Moon Version that I so enjoy. Lon thank you for all the hard work and passion you put into these videos and music. Many of us appreciate it greatly. Keep it up and God bless!
serious question. How do you get your harmonics so loud and clear? Did you just turn the volume up or something. Ive been trying to replicate this for a while looking into harmonics. are you strumming behind the fret with your pinkey? I cant tell :l
Harmonics, I've found, ring out a lot louder on a nylon-stringed acoustic, like this one. Work on growing out your fingernails and make sure your guitar is intonated properly.
I think this version of Rydia is the best I have heard. I'm really a fan of the piano version, but this too, is close to the heart. Thank you for the video.
This is probably one of my most favorite songs from FF4. Rydia is definitely my favorite character! You make the song seem almost sad, somehow. It makes me think of Rydia as a child after she lost her mother.
i love this song so much. i did not and could not arrange it well for a long time. But at some point, i could do it somehow in a very short time. i do not know why. but it depends not only me but also many kind encouragement of my friends.
Thanks lonlonjp, I just discovered your clips today as well. And I'm loving them. I love Fragments of Memories too, it'd be great if you covered it. Such a mellow, harmonious piece which makes you have a recollection of good old days. I think you would be able to articulate that very well...
I haven't met Rydia before, but you take me into the world of imagination, where she is sitting on a chair in the summerhouse of a beautiful garden, and gently smiling at me.
And the dreamy melody of your guitar, surrounding her, creates undescribably relaxing and soothing atomosphere in the scene. Hence, the heaven.
wow, how beautiful! I posted a stairway to heaven composition, however I'm disappointed with my performance. I think I will redo it. When you have some time, please take a look.
Gorgeous song lonlon I loved your playing in this one, the notes have so much meaning.
Kay yeah can i borrow your talent or something?! how come all your songs sound even better then the originals! XD loved it! can't wait to see what song you do next!
by the way, my friend and I are gunna battle on wednesday ill post it up on youtube maybe. break dance battle. yeah not like beating each other with our fists. ok bye

@laharlrules
Put your index finger on the fret (like a classical harmonic) and hit the string with your ring finger, this isn't very hard ;).

I don't understand why this has only 9000 views.
Obviously, there aren't many FFIV fans, though in my opinion, 4 and 6 are the best FF from the old ones.

@lonlonjp Leave 'em all up, they're top-notch stuff.
In fact, seeing someone as talented as you in action has inspired ME to get in on playing guitar.
And to put things into perspective, it takes quite a lot to inspire me, like a volcano going off, or a really big thunderstorm.

i did not use any sound effect or volume up/down. This was the natural sound of my gutiar played by me really =D
lonlonjp 2 years ago
While its not that thats not impressive because it is. Ive been playing it over in my head for like 3 days now. How did you make that harmonic sound?
ThePredster 2 years ago
Practice, practice, practice.
Harmonics, I've found, ring out a lot louder on a nylon-stringed acoustic, like this one. Work on growing out your fingernails and make sure your guitar is intonated properly.
This is all I can do to help.
