  • South East Asian Cartoon Network used this style of closedown until 1998.

I remembered that this closedown showed up around 2:30 PM everyday.

I like special moments like this one!

Guess what i still watching it until it changed to TNT for few minutes back then!

  • cartoon network was a good channel since 1994 to 2003 or 2004...the new cartoon network sucks

  • This is probably the most imaginative closedown and startup transition I've seen.

  • TNT?

  • oh man, this brings back memories <3

  • Cartoon Network Closes Down But Now,Instead Of TNT,Adult Swim Comes On

  • @TheBuilderman123 This is the paneuropean version of Cartoon Network/TNT which shared a single transponder on the Astra 1C satellite in the 90's and was available free to air across Europe and the UK. Later on TNT reduced their hours on Astra 1C to 9pm-5am UK(10pm-6am CET-Europe is an hour ahead of the UK and Cartoon Network increased theirs from 5am-9pm UK(6am-10pm CET), and at the same time launched digital satellite encrypted 24h versions for UK Cable Operators who wanted to take them.

  • @AnthonyUK SO this was just a EUropean thing? I saw this all the time on Ramstein Air Force Base in the 90s

  • @CrimsonNineTail Yes this was the pan-european version of Cartoon Network & TNT;they shared a single transponder on Astra 1C at 19.2degE in PAL Clear:English using mono 6.50Mhz/50uS and stereo 7.02/7.20Mhz with PANDA1 noise reduction plus four additional European languages in mono utilizing 7.38/7.56/7.74/7.92Mhz with PANDA1 noise reduction, they also had various European language teletext subtitles. They used CET time and UK time, later on they launched 24h versions of each for cable networks.

  • @AnthonyUK Thanks for the confirmation, sorry you had to type all that again :)

  • I used to cry when Cartoon Network went off like that.
