Even if your an atheist, why does it matter? I used to be an atheist and I think if I still was I would still listen to this song and agree. This world is getting more jacked up everyday. its amazing all the little and big things god can do for us and wil do. the other day for like the last week or so my left big toe has been hurting really bad espescially when i like walked on it or even touched it like it was in grown, i prayed and asked god to heal it and stop the pain. now for the last couple days so far i feel no pain at all...thats just a small example!

@98sjci Not really theologically inaccurate when you consider that Isaiah 64:6 says "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment." We were created in the image of God but after sin entered the heart of man we became unclean, it is the curse of Adam. I think what I love about Josh is that he seems to really connect to the humanness in each of us. His songs speaks of our need to lose ourselves and become something better, but we can't without the help our our God. He also seems to connect with that relationship that we must and need to have with God in order to be whole.

I understand the concept and agree that everything good comes from God. but to say that "we have no good within ourselves" is theologically inaccurate. We do have good in us. We are made in the image and likeness of God. It doesn't get much better than that. But, we have to pray...

@98sjci Not really theologically inaccurate when you consider that Isaiah 64:6 says "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment." We were created in the image of God but after sin entered the heart of man we became unclean, it is the curse of Adam. There is nothing good inside of us unless we have died to ourselves and allow Christ to shine.

@greengurl61 Again, I understand where you are coming from. The need for Christ for salvation is obvious. However, to say that there is NOTHING good inside of us denies the biblical fact that we are ALL made in the image and likeness of God. Yes, we have fallen due to sin. But we are still made in His image and likeness and He is only Good.
I think the rest of the song is great.

@98sjci You are correct when you say that we are more than nothing because we are made in God's image and likeness, but I think 98sjci is saying that we are more than nothing because God makes us that way, NOT us. It's the idea that at the end of the day we are under the power of God's mercy. We cannot EARN our salvation, it is granted to us by the mercy of God through the eternal sacrifice of Jesus Christ!!

I think what I love about Josh is that he seems to really connect to the humanness in each of us. His songs speaks of our need to lose ourselves and become something better, but we can't without the help our our God. He also seems to connect with that relationship that we must and need to have with God in order to be whole.

This song found me today as i was playing music from my ipod. I had never heard it before cause i just download songs at random if i like the artist. I couldnt believe the lyrics as i was listening cause i felt like it had described me perfectly. I don't think it is about addiction but rather a song about someone with a desperate cry for help... Thank u for posting this! The scenery is amazing; I even love the font you chose! Great job!
