learned a neat thing from mel blanc, hold the mic to the side of your mouth, not directly infront, this stops the air burst (wind in ear effect). i'm having a bit of trouble, are some characters just impossible for some people to do.
yeah the mic didn't hep I have to say... it's a cheapy little thing.
Not everyone can do all different kinds of voices - it depends on what sort of voice you have. I love deep voices, but that's not what my voice is naturally like so I struggle to do them well.
sometimes when you are making the puppet you just get a certain feel about it... good question. Probably everybody would choose a different voice for the same puppet so i guess it's personal
Excellent video Dave! I use the same method of keywords for the various accents I do (or try to do). I don't really have any voices that are attached to any one character, they generally just make appearances throughout the day, depending on my mood. Some days I like to try to go for a couple of hours in a certain accent. I absolutely loved this vid :-)
This is how I do it! Brill, we're on the same page :)

Is that the key to character voices? Make stupid faces, cause I've been trying to make a voice for a puppet for a year now.

lol... i don't know that it's the key... but it helps :)

Ha ha! Very nice. You should get yourself a better mic. You're voices a fantastic, the mic quality doesn't do them justice.
*thinks* I'm tempted to make a "how to" voice video now...

Noooooooooo! I feel like a kid that just discovered Santa Clause isn't real. *sniff* All those characters ... are fake. =O :-(
Naw, just kidding. Good performance! It was fun to hear the familiar voices presented like that. I think my favorite voice is Pierre's.
