I do agree - por maitenance does kill a car. But from a personal view, I don't believe it with Tempo's or Topaz's. Why? My parents owned a 1991 Ford Tempo, lasted 10 yrs. We maintained it, many suspension repairs (struts) and OIL SPRAYED, it still rotted. Scrapped it, had given to us a 1989 Mercury Topaz. We were putting money into a hunk of junk every month. Brakes, bearings, suspension, etc It went to the wreckers too. Another fact: those were the only Ford products my family has ever owned.
Hey man Check out my vids of my 89 topaz. she runs well and never has a problem. i maintain the SHIT outta her so she doesnt go south in a few years. 122k mi i wanna 5 spd for it the autos suck. gonna get her custom bumpers (not over the top crap shit ones) other cosmetic upgrades and resore her factory then upgrade the intake and injection systems. kinda do with it like a japo tin can but not to the point where it kills the integrity of the car. these are not meant for that :)
1989 the Ford Taurus Was coming 1989 great car they are good cars if you can find one in great shape. My friend Curtis has one 20 years old. 1989 he repainted his car he takes great care of his Taurus.
Hi - Interesting Channel & tribute! I had 2 Escorts in my day AND a Crown Victoria which was GREAT. I was thinking about a Mercury Grand Marquis. Any thoughts on the Mercury Grand Marquis----As there are a million of them around. Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.
I hope every Tempo/Topaz rots in hell, they're the ugliest looking cars ever. I would NEVER EVER own one even if it was the last car on earth. The only tempo the Tempo has is 0...
Nice tribute. These are starting to become more and more rare. Although there are a few in pretty good condition around where I live. I still see some nice ones on the road. These were some great cars for their day.
I have to agree with some of these other comments though, if you don't want them dissapear maybe you should stop wrecking them. Not picking at you but if you love something show it some respect. Try restoring a few instead of smashing them up.
the way you talk about tempos reminds me of the amc pacer of the seventies. they were only made for a few years for a reason. they both had the same problems. just from different eras.
tempo and topaz are fucking ugly but tough i hate those cars but if you love those that nice me i realy love Cavalier and sunfire and some poeple said they are pos
lol true forigen crap cant hold the two hundered pounds that some people put in the cars but tempos/topaz werent made in the us they were made in germany
Really, ppl THINK the Tempo/Topaz badge was a bad car... But it all boils to how you treat it. Maintain it, and don't abuse it, it can last for a long time. Unfortunatly Tempo/Topaz was a cheap priced car, so a lot of red necks got them, they don't know how to maintain SHIT!
@seansuth So what your saying is that i can't maintain a car. HMMMMMMM. I guess all the oil changes, parts and accessories ive bought it was abusing it. Interesting.
AWW MAN! That's SAD! Those Ford Tempos were my favorite cars ever. My Nanu used to have a red 1992-1994 Model of Ford Tempo. It was a sedan. Look at those poor cars. Bad people are just destroying them on purpose and shouldn't be just because they thought it was the WORST CAR EVER PRODUCED BY FORD!!!! I think Ford Tempo is still a great car although a good number of them are killed.
hmmm.. i think the ford Scorpio (both types) and ford Granada(European), they are pretty rare , and especially opel ascona B,opel omega A, Opel monza, opel senator A(same as Chevrolet senator), opel manta B, and especially volvo 140 series(142,144,145)
yes it was made by suzuki but marketed by gm you fuck head and yes its all fine and dandy 70 miles per gasllon but there were the absoultte ugliest fucking cars ever you stupid retard
yea mine was a 92 and it got strut tower rust at 157 thousand miles that made it unsafe 2 drive mechanic told me to stop drivin it...... you could feel the rear end sway back and forth when turning and going over cracks
My brother had a 93 Topaz. With regular maintnence it ran till last year. And the only reason it died is due to the fact. My nephew was rear ended by a semi while at a stop light.
Makes me almost want to go out and buy a Tempo/Topaz because you don't see them anymore. But they just don't have much potential. Wish Ford would have made a killer FWD engine (Like GM's 3.8). These cars would make a good sleeper and good material to do an engine swap.
I feel very sad with this video, I love my tempo really much, its an 2 door tempo 1990 and actualy runs perfectly, I druve to school every morning and return to home, go to some places in the night and no problem I get to my place comfortly.
Wow. Very hard hitting and emotional. Ford killed all those cars because let's face it they were production oriented. Strictly for the money. In 1978 Ford recalled more cars than it produced. They were pure junk. Ford Mustang, the pinto, on and on and OH - did I mention the Bronco - which Ford knew would roll over and did NOTHING - because it would cost less to pay out death settlements than to go back to the drawing board and build a safe vehicle. They are gone now - back to hell. JAMES.
Nicely put together. And not to be a dick but you're contributing to their death. Quit buying all of them and wrecking them. If you cant afford to fix all the ones you buy, quit buying them. Simple as that.
the reason the tempo population is becoming thin is because they're poorly amde econmy cars. just like the ford pinto, there were many amde, but they were poorly made ecomy cars and basically all rear end collsions made it blows up because the gas tank would leak out easily.
i agree with fordkillschevy. get as many as possible, restore them, and maybe start a musem dedicated to them. my family had a tempo and a topaz at one point in time.
don't worry garrett there's still atleast a thousand of these left in new york here. i see low millage 2drs all over the place and alot of 4drs with the v6's there was alot of these manufactured and there great cars since there still on the road. i almost bought myself a V6 tempo but instead i got a 94 taurus gl 3.0 with 68k instead... taurus is tempos big sister the way i see it. they just dont share safety but thats it. there nice looking cars and can get past 200k thats what counts
hahahaha not my 92! darned thing went to a derby guy because it had rust bad in the pass. side strut towers.... agreed if I could find one with the V6 and 5 speed I'd be golden as it would be fast!
me 2 i love topaz my dad ave 5 topaz in the yard and it ave thake rost for like 15 years . wen i start it it fire rigt up so eat some chit you guys that dont like topaz
