  • Stationed there during the 70's with my father and again in the 90's myself. One of the last to leave the place in 94 when it closed down. Wish I could have made it there for this special and final closure! Sure do miss the place!

  • I was stationed at CNA from '70 to '73 with the Base Police 32nd USAFE. Lived in Soest and the real Soesterberg. CNA was in a little place called Den Dolder. The guy we bought cars from lived right off the base. Lost a good friend, Kenny Brown who crashed his MG outside the main gate about 400 yards. My daughter was born in Ooganal Hospital in Utrecht. Some of the best days of my life. Love the people of Nederland.

    Nice to hear you liked your time in the low countries. You probably mean Oog en Al Hospital?

    There still are a lot of things around the base reminding of the time the Americans were here.

    Nowadays the base still has much of its former glory, but it's a lot quieter without jets. Just gliders.
