It is no different than any other sin; immorality, lying, stealing, etc. Homosexuals are people who can choose to trust and obey Jesus Christ or live their life in any way they choose. I just think the concept of a "hate crime" is retarded. For one, it does nothing to stop the spread of racism and/or homophobia. I also think it's ridiculous that somebody would get a worse punishment for a crime \because of what was going on in their head at the time. None of the things on this legislative agenda would affect straight people's lives in the slightest. Firstly, this is not news. These have been Obama's campaign promises from early in his campaign so I'm not sure what this is all about. Secondly, I don't think many people would buy the idea that gay and lesbian Americans aren't targeted with hate and stigma in this country that we need to address.

I hope that this kind of intolerance will give way and that we as a nation become more accepting of one another.
